My Sister Is Acting Strange - Chapter 22 - The Love Letter
The soft touch on his lips made Tang Huaijin’s eyes widen, filled with surprise and delight.
In the end, his sister was still very shy. The courage she had gathered was used up the moment her lips touched his. Now, she just stood there with her eyes closed, her face as red as a cooked shrimp.
After holding on for two seconds, Tang Yaoyao wanted to quickly retreat. But as soon as her small hands loosened from around his neck, Tang Huaijin tightened his grip around her slender waist, pressing his lips eagerly against hers, those lips he had longed for.
Taking advantage of her momentary distraction, Tang Huaijin parted her lips, his tongue venturing forward.
Like a large serpent, greedy and infatuated, chasing a smaller one.
The small serpent, slippery and soft, seemed somewhat afraid of the larger one, constantly moving around in the corner, fearful of being caught.
But the larger serpent was ultimately more skillful, cornering the smaller one, which slowly began to relax. The two serpents entwined, becoming inseparable.
The room was silent, except for the sound of their exchanged breaths.
After a long while, Tang Huaijin finally released his sister. Tang Yaoyao, now free, gasped for air, her face flushed, looking at Tang Huaijin with a dreamy gaze, murmuring, “Jin…”
Tang Huaijin wore a satisfied smile, his eyes shining brightly in the dark, carefully observing his sister’s delicate and charming face.
Feeling shy under his gaze, Tang Yaoyao’s face grew hot, and she leaned into his embrace.
Tang Huaijin gently kissed her smooth forehead, teasingly asking, “How was it? Your brother’s kiss.”
Tang Yaoyao, like an ostrich, buried her head in his chest, refusing to move. She playfully hit his chest with her hand, lightly protesting, “Don’t say that…”
“Alright~” Tang Huaijin chuckled, stroking her silky hair, softly asking, “Want to try again?”
“…” Tang Yaoyao’s breath hitched, hesitating to answer. Tang Huaijin’s kiss was domineering and passionate, as if he wanted to swallow her whole, leaving her both yearning and a bit apprehensive. After a moment of silence, she murmured, “Jin, won’t we go to hell for this?”
“I’d go to hell for you.”
Tang Huaijin gently lifted her chin and leaned in for another kiss.
“Mmm…”
Tang Yaoyao watched as he drew closer, eventually closing her eyes.
I’d go to hell for you…
This time, Tang Huaijin only kissed her briefly before stopping.
Released, her lips slightly parted, she looked at him with a hint of confusion, not understanding why he suddenly stopped.
Tang Huaijin gave a wry smile, saying, “I can’t kiss you anymore, I’m afraid I won’t be able to hold back.”
He wasn’t Liu Xiahui1, after all. With such a beauty in his arms, his blood felt like it was boiling, barely able to suppress his desires. Yet he knew they couldn’t go any further, not now, when neither of them was ready.
“Hold back?” Tang Yaoyao didn’t understand at first. After a moment, she gave him a coquettish glance, turning away from him. She pulled his arm under her head, mumbling, “I don’t understand what you’re saying. I’m sleepy, goodnight, Jin.”
“Goodnight, sister.”
Tang Huaijin exhaled a warm breath, gently holding her waist, and closed his eyes to sleep.
After a while.
“Jin, you’re poking me…”
“Oh…”
…
In this torment, Tang Huaijin slowly fell asleep.
He didn’t know how long he had slept when he was awakened by a persistent coughing. Rubbing his eyes, he felt groggy, his head slightly aching.
The sky outside was already bright. His sister was still nestled against him, but her face was tinged with an unhealthy flush, coughing incessantly.
Tang Huaijin immediately became alert, leaning over to check her temperature, silently cursing himself for being so worried that he forgot how to properly check a fever.
He hurriedly found a thermometer in the living room, took her temperature, and sent a message to Shen Yiqiu, asking for a leave of absence. Then, using her phone, he messaged a contact named Han Yaoyao.
After doing all this, he checked the thermometer: 38.8 degrees. She had a fever. He quickly wet a towel to place on her forehead, found her medicine, and gently woke her.
Tang Yaoyao opened her eyes groggily, coughing twice, and asked in confusion, “Jin, what’s wrong?”
Tang Huaijin helped her sit up, placing the medicine in her mouth. “You caught a cold and have a fever. Swallow the medicine, don’t spit it out.”
“Oh…”
Obediently, she took the medicine, followed by a sip of water he handed her, swallowing the pills. She then pouted, complaining, “It’s so bitter…”
“Medicine is supposed to be bitter. You rest a bit, I’ll make you some food.” He laid her back down, took two pills himself, and went to the kitchen to make porridge.
After cooking the porridge, he brought it to her room, finding her awake, holding her phone to ask for leave.
Seeing him enter, she looked a bit guilty, avoiding his eyes, softly saying, “Jin, I’m fine, you should go to school.”
Tang Huaijin chuckled, “What nonsense, I can’t leave until your fever breaks.”
Though she had drunk last night, she hadn’t blacked out. The memories were clear in her mind, making her blush with embarrassment whenever she thought about it.
Seeing him about to feed her porridge, she quickly took the bowl from him, refusing, “I can eat by myself…”
Knowing she was shy, he didn’t insist, finishing his own bowl.
After eating, he felt his eyelids drooping. He was actually feeling worse than her, much more severely, and hadn’t slept much last night. Exhausted, he lay down beside her and fell asleep.
Though she was tired, Tang Yaoyao hadn’t fallen asleep yet. Seeing him collapse beside her, she was startled at first, then realized he was just tired and sleeping, feeling a pang of sympathy.
With him asleep, she grew bolder, resting her head beside his, snuggling into his arms, pulling his hand to her waist, and finally, with a blush, drifted off to sleep.
…
When he woke again, it was noon. Gently moving her leg from his waist, he quietly got up, checked her temperature, and was relieved to find the fever had broken.
He went to the kitchen, cooked some food, and left a note for her before heading to school. After a nap, his headache had lessened, though he still felt a bit dizzy, but going to school seemed manageable.
Shen Yiqiu’s reply was simple: “Noted, take care.”
Her concise and formal style was exactly what he expected.
It was nearly the end of lunch break when he arrived at class, where Bai Yuerou was chatting with Xia Xinya.
Seeing him enter, Bai Yuerou immediately showed concern, asking, “I heard from Teacher Shen that you were sick. Are you okay?”
He smiled, assuring her he was fine.
Xia Xinya, standing nearby, also looked concerned, but when she saw him only looking at Bai Yuerou, she huffed, saying nothing.
Before he could even put his bag down, a girl approached him, blushing, and said, “Um… Tang Huaijin, I’ve liked you for a long time… Will you be my boyfriend?”
The classroom was still quite full, and her confession instantly sparked a buzz among the students.
Bai Yuerou looked at him with a complex expression, seemingly waiting for his reaction.
Xia Xinya’s pretty brows furrowed slightly.
Surprised, he glanced at the girl, whose name was Li Xiaowan. She was quite pretty and sat in front of him to the left. She often turned around to sneak glances at him, which he had noticed, but they hadn’t spoken much. He hadn’t expected her to be so bold.
Before he could respond, Li Xiaowan, her face red, handed him a love letter, saying shyly, “My contact info is inside. You can reply to me there.”
With that, she ran back to her seat, covering her face, while her friends gathered around, teasing her quietly.
Some classmates, always eager for drama, started to cheer, with a few even whistling.
As the classroom atmosphere grew more heated, he felt a bit awkward, preparing to say something.
But Bai Yuerou cleared her throat, loudly saying, “Quiet, class is about to start.”
Her voice brought the room to a relative calm, though a few curious students still glanced back at him, only to be met with Xia Xinya’s icy stare, which quickly made them turn away, though whispers continued.
Once the class settled down, Bai Yuerou looked at him with concern, asking, “What are you going to do?”
He placed the letter on his desk, feeling a headache coming on, “I don’t know.”
Xia Xinya, clearly displeased, muttered, “Then just accept her. Li Xiaowan’s not bad looking, what more do you want?”
Her words were full of sarcasm. Already feeling unwell, he was in no mood for her antics. Annoyed, he replied, “What does it matter to you whether I accept or not? At least she’s better than you.”
Hearing this, Xia Xinya’s face turned a mix of colors. After a moment of silence, she glared at him, coldly saying, “Hmph, none of my business. Go ahead, be a couple.”
Her unreasonable behavior was something he wasn’t going to argue with. Not wanting to upset himself further, he forced a smile at Bai Yuerou and rested his head on the desk.
