My Girlfriend's a Monster - Chapter 47
Whispers, so close and gentle, caused Zhong Qingxiao to feel a shiver down his spine.
Being somewhat of a clean freak, he didn’t want to lean against the white walls of the stairwell, so he instinctively moved closer to Luo Ke, unconsciously clinging to her neck. Luo Ke moved so swiftly that soon, Qingxiao was left without even his underwear.
He knew there was no refusing her now, so he pleaded softly, “Just like this… don’t change back, don’t turn into that other thing, Xiao Ke, I want to look at you.”
Fresh from a morning shower, his body still fragrant, Luo Ke inhaled deeply, her eyes sparkling with excitement-again he was begging her, in that soft tone she adored. It was truly hard to resist, utterly impossible to refuse.
Tentacles formed a wall around them, concealing them from view. Qingxiao trembled, yet could not afford to be fully distracted; he still had to whisper to his girlfriend, “Too fast, please slow down, I beg you.”
Every nerve in Luo Ke tingled with excitement as Qingxiao taught her, guided her on what to do. Luo Ke never imagined Qingxiao would willingly lead her like this.
“Professor,” Luo Ke suddenly whispered in his ear, “Am I doing this right? Is Xiao Ke a good girl?”
Qingxiao was utterly mortified, his eyes tightly shut as if he could pretend none of this was happening. He didn’t want to lean against the possibly dirty walls, nor did he want to stand barefoot on the floor, and he was even distracted enough to instruct Luo Ke, “Don’t leave my clothes on the floor, I don’t want that.”
Human boundaries, like a mirror, were suddenly shattered; from initially not even being able to share a bed with his girlfriend, Qingxiao was now being overtaken by a monster in the stairwell of his own building.
Luo Ke kissed his softly moistened lips for what seemed like the umpteenth time, watching as his skin was dusted with a thin layer of blush under her gaze, as if nurturing a delicate flower.
Her rose, a pink rose.
“Shall we go back?” Qingxiao murmured, his voice muddy as if after rain, burdened with too many worries-about his clothes falling to the ground, about accidentally brushing against the walls, and throughout, he tightly clutched his pocket to prevent the little cat from escaping.
His voice was husky and soft, and Luo Ke’s nerves pulsed as she slowly withdrew her tentacles, handing Qingxiao his clothes one by one.
“They didn’t fall on the floor at all,” Luo Ke reassured him with comforting words.
“Okay, thank you,” Qingxiao said softly, quickly dressing up. His legs were trembling, making it hard to stand, but it didn’t affect his speed.
Such a strong character, isn’t describing him as a rose too delicate?
The ordeal had lasted nearly 45 minutes, merely an appetizer for Luo Ke, but not in Qingxiao’s view.
The positions were too awkward; he felt like a novice. How could Xiao Ke be so adept?
He was almost angry, but… Xiao Ke was very gentle today, just like her kisses.
When they passed the 17th floor, it was deserted, the invisible tentacles resting gently on Qingxiao’s waist, supporting him.
“Does it hurt?” Luo Ke asked.
Qingxiao replied embarrassingly, “I’m a bit tired, I want to rest.”
The stairwell in Building A was now pitch black; perhaps it was destroyed by the monster, no one seemed to care.
As they reached the 18th floor, they suddenly saw a silhouette standing at the doorway.
In the pitch-black night, only a vague outline was discernible. Qingxiao almost jumped in fright, instinctively pulling his girlfriend behind him for protection.
But Luo Ke saw clearly-it was Zhao Xucheng, and she didn’t understand why he was standing there.
For now, at least, Zhao Xucheng was undoubtedly human.
Qingxiao quickly turned on the flashlight on his phone, and when the light hit Zhao Xucheng’s face, he relaxed slightly, frowning as he asked, “What are you doing here?”
Zhao Xucheng smiled, “I heard footsteps when I was passing by and thought to scare you a bit, but bro, you’re too calm.”
“You knew we went downstairs?” Qingxiao countered.
“Yeah,” Zhao Xucheng said, “Is that a secret? I saw you guys when you were heading down.”
Qingxiao was at a loss for words, waving goodbye.
Zhao Xucheng just smiled and added, “Rest well, bro.”
Reaching the door of Room 1801, Qingxiao said to Luo Ke, “I find Zhao Xucheng very strange, stay away from him.”
“Why?” Luo Ke asked.
“Because…” Qingxiao pursed his lips, perhaps instinctively feeling his girlfriend was in danger? Between the two, Zhao Xucheng seemed more dangerous.
“Never mind,” Qingxiao shook his head, “Forget I said anything.”
The little tangerine-colored kitten was brought home; Qingxiao was worried whether the kitten would use the litter box properly. Luo Ke gently tapped the little guy’s head, whispering, “Use the bathroom like that dog, follow it, don’t mess up the house, okay?”
The kitten didn’t understand, merely meowing cluelessly.
“Let’s name it,” Luo Ke said.
The dog’s name was her choice; now it was Qingxiao’s turn.
“Ah,” Qingxiao looked troubled, “I’m not good at naming pets… how about Potato?”
Luo Ke glanced at the yellow kitten.
“Sounds like a dog’s name.”
Luo Ke let go of the kitten, not wanting to waste time on this, and casually said, “Let’s call it Little Tangerine.”
She pushed Qingxiao towards the room, “Time for a bath.”
The tentacles were all too willing to oblige.
“Not today, Xiao Ke, I really want to rest,” Qingxiao said helplessly, knowing that Xiao Ke’s help with cleaning was never just about cleaning.
Luo Ke stopped talking, her eyes fixed on Qingxiao.
“No!” Qingxiao pursed his lips and refused, really wanting to just sleep after bathing.
Luo Ke didn’t persist, watching as Qingxiao entered the bathroom, her gaze suddenly cold-hadn’t they done much today?
Qingxiao went to bathe, and Luo Ke stood in the room for a while, frustrated, before heading out.
She wasn’t satisfied at all, and Qingxiao had refused her.
She had only spent a short forty minutes in the stairwell; was that really such a long time?
The corridor was empty, and Luo Ke stood in the middle, gazing at the stars above. Even with the earth in such a state, the starry sky remained beautiful, the vast universe untouched.
She searched for her own star among them.
“Little beauty, what are you doing out here so late?” A human voice rang out behind Luo Ke, who didn’t even turn around.
Ge Hailong stood there for a moment, seemingly making up his mind. He swallowed and stared at Luo Ke’s back, “Hey, how about sharing some of your food with me?”
Luo Ke ignored him, leaning on the railing and staring into the distance.
After being ignored twice, Ge Hailong actually laughed out of frustration, his eyes flashing with malice as he moved forward. But then he heard someone call his name from behind.
“Hey, Ge Hailong.”
Ge Hailong’s actions froze, and Luo Ke turned to see Zhao Xucheng emerging from the darkness onto the corridor.
“What are you planning to do to our Chunfeng Community residents?” Zhao Xucheng looked at Ge Hailong with a smirk, “You don’t think that apart from your Baoliyuan, we don’t have people on night duty, do you?”
The two men were similar in age and build, and with Ge Hailong starving, he knew he was no match. He forced a smile, “Where did that come from? I just thought she was pretty and couldn’t resist talking to her.”
With that, Ge Hailong walked away laughing.
Zhao Xucheng called after him, “So what if she’s pretty? She has a boyfriend, you know.”
The quiet area was disturbed by the two human males, and Luo Ke, lacking enthusiasm, withdrew her hand. She was just about to return when she passed Zhao Xucheng and heard him calling her name.
“You’re called Xiao Ke, right? Such a cute name,” Zhao Xucheng said.
Luo Ke’s remaining memory of this man was from many days ago when he handed her a fragrant handkerchief that could ward off the stench of decay.
So, even though Qingxiao seemed to have a poor impression of Zhao Xucheng, Luo Ke found him quite acceptable.
She liked humans like Zhao Xucheng, who remained calm under pressure and always took care to look their best, always smiling.
Luo Ke still said nothing, silently watching Zhao Xucheng.
It might have been an illusion, but Zhao Xucheng suddenly felt an eerie vibe from the woman in front of him. He blinked hard, convincing himself that she was just a pretty young woman.
Zhao Xucheng chuckled at himself for becoming paranoid and began to chat with Luo Ke using his proud linguistic skills.
“You also look quite cute; if I didn’t know your age, I’d think you were only seventeen or eighteen.”
Luo Ke remained unaffected; she didn’t understand what Zhao Xucheng was trying to convey.
That’s strange, he had said so much, and he had just saved her from Ge Hailong; she should have shown some response.
“Hmm… You and your boyfriend must be very close?” Zhao Xucheng tried to find a topic that might interest Luo Ke, “You two are always inseparable.”
“Why are you asking about him?” Luo Ke finally spoke, her stare intensifying with a hint of murderous intent, “Are you interested in him? Planning to compete with me for him?”
Zhao Xucheng was utterly baffled by her questions, initially responding with a startled “Ah?”
He quickly clarified, “How could that be! I like women! How could I have those kinds of thoughts about men!”
This woman has such a strange way of thinking, and he felt a strong possessiveness coming from her.
She seemed kind of yandere.
Is that cute?
Zhao Xucheng secretly tugged at the corner of his mouth, his interest piqued. It was rare to meet a girl with such a personality.
Since regular conversation didn’t work to get her talking, perhaps…
Zhao Xucheng put on what he thought was a perfect smile and kindly said, “You and your boyfriend… you were making love in the stairwell this afternoon, weren’t you?”
He watched Luo Ke intently, hoping to see a trace of panic on her face, but there was none. Three seconds after his remark, the woman standing before him was as calm as ever.
How could this be? Isn’t this woman shy?
Suddenly thrown off, Zhao Xucheng started backpedaling, “Ah, what I mean is, don’t do that anymore. After all, it’s a public area. It would be terrible if someone other than me discovered you. And aren’t you… afraid of monsters?”
Luo Ke wanted to go home. She shifted her gaze away from Zhao Xucheng, thinking, Oh, what’s the point of a pretty shell if it’s so uninteresting inside?
The sound of Qingxiao’s shower was more pleasant than his voice.
Luo Ke’s expressionless departure left Zhao Xucheng feeling defeated, unsure of what motivated him, but he bit his lip and added, “But I must compliment you, your moans were very enticing, almost made me crave more.”
Luo Ke’s steps slowed; she hadn’t made any sounds at that time.
Then what had Zhao Xucheng heard…
Her small shoes slowly turned around, intense murderous intent bursting from Luo Ke’s eyes. Should she just kill him directly? Would it be troublesome if Qingxiao saw? Would he start avoiding her again?
Annoying and despicable human, daring to peep at her treasure.
Luo Ke’s teeth became fully sharp; maybe if she ate him, no one would ever find out.
“Xiao Ke?”
The door to Room 1801 suddenly opened, and Qingxiao, with his hair half-dry, stood at the doorway.
Then quickly, he saw Zhao Xucheng standing behind Luo Ke, smiling, and Qingxiao’s brows furrowed.
“What are you doing?” Qingxiao asked, hadn’t he already told Xiao Ke to stay away from this man? Why were they standing together and chatting?
“Ah, bro, you’re here,” Zhao Xucheng approached with a smile, affectionately patting Luo Ke’s shoulder twice, “We were just talking about you, very happily.”
Qingxiao’s gaze followed Zhao Xucheng’s hand touching Luo Ke’s shoulder.
He had touched her, yet Xiao Ke showed no reaction; were these two that familiar with each other?
“Let’s go home and rest,” Zhao Xucheng leaned in, addressing Luo Ke in front of Qingxiao.
Luo Ke twisted her body stiffly, her approach towards Qingxiao seemingly reluctant.
So annoying… Her teeth, her teeth wouldn’t retract, why did they suddenly appear? My dear wife…!
