My Girlfriend's a Monster - Chapter 41
The clock’s hands moved with a steady tick-tock, and a layer of mist had formed on its glass surface. The sea rose and fell, and despite the clear skies and rising temperatures outside, dark clouds gathered ominously, as if a storm was brewing.
Red marks, resembling fingerprints, crisscrossed like a piece of art, with every trace left starkly visible. Even the vacant gaze lingered for a long time.
Zhong Qingxiao gradually stopped struggling, slipping in and out of consciousness, only to awaken in violent shivers.
It wasn’t until the first ray of sunlight streamed through the window that the massive figure began to transform. The twisting, complex blackness was drawn away entirely, absorbed into a pale palm. Each fingertip glowed with a faint red, suggesting a good mood.
Her spirits were excellent.
Luo Ke moved with a spring in her step, gently lifting her unconscious dear wife and slowly carried him into the bathroom.
“I’ll help you bathe,” she said, her tentacles eager to assist.
Human fingers just couldn’t convey sensations as well as her tentacles. No one could imagine how much pleasure she’d experienced the night before.
She turned on the hot water, washing him meticulously, scrubbing his soft hair, caressing his delicate skin, and carefully extracting hidden things. She did it all with tenderness and precision.
Images from the night danced in her mind, and Luo Ke couldn’t help herself. She leaned down and kissed Zhong Qingxiao’s lips. Thanks to her protection, these soft lips hadn’t been bitten through by him.
Luo Ke’s kiss lingered, even though she mercifully refrained from using her tongue this time. Still, the suffocating sensation filled Zhong Qingxiao’s chest. He coughed awake from his faint, his gaze slowly focusing on Luo Ke.
He began to tremble uncontrollably, his whole body shaking as if chilled to the bone, shivering for a long time without stopping.
“What’s wrong?” Luo Ke finally released his mouth.
Zhong Qingxiao said nothing, his head resting in Luo Ke’s arms, too exhausted to move. He was too tired to speak, and words seemed meaningless.
Luo Ke didn’t mind. She touched his stomach, thinking he must be hungry. She changed all the bedding, tossing everything into the washing machine, then took out fresh linens from the cabinet. She placed her dear wife on the bed, dressing him, curiously touching the place that had accommodated her.
Zhong Qingxiao winced in pain.
Ah, it seemed some ointment was necessary.
After dressing her dear wife, Luo Ke left the room.
The two of them had risen late today. Luo Meihua, as if tacitly understanding, was already in the kitchen preparing breakfast-each person a cup of soy milk and two fist-sized buns, the same for the whole family.
Luo Ke silently took two servings back to the room, locking the door behind her.
Luo Meihua was surprised. She hadn’t prepared any meat for her, yet there was no fuss…
“Time to eat.” Luo Ke propped Zhong Qingxiao up, her numerous tentacles serving as his backrest, one holding a cup, another a plate, all very handy.
Zhong Qingxiao remained unmoved, still silent, his tightly pressed lips looking dry.
“Not eating?” Luo Ke tilted her head, her words carrying an unmistakable threat.
Zhong Qingxiao felt bitterness. His childish sulking was laughable. In the end, he had no choice but to silently accept the food from the tentacles and swallow it.
Luo Ke smiled, her soft body slipping into Zhong Qingxiao’s oversized loungewear, the room filling with a soft sizzling sound.
At that moment, Zhong Qingxiao couldn’t hold back any longer: “What do you want from me?”
He had thought he would die last night, in such a ridiculous way, yet today he awoke as usual. Speaking, he realized how hoarse his voice was, completely drained of strength, even his hand holding the cup trembled, and his question sounded weightless.
Luo Ke licked her lips, emerging with a smirk: “But I’m hungry.”
Her expression was matter-of-fact: “Mom didn’t make any meat.”
So what? Just because she was hungry, did she have to keep tormenting him?
Monster.
Zhong Qingxiao thought he’d never forget the scene from last night. He had been with a monster… His face turned deathly pale.
Everything he ate felt like chewing wax, and he didn’t even have the strength to chew. Just sitting there was exhausting.
He vaguely remembered last night, Luo Ke seemed… but how could that be? Her true form, that monster, could it be male?
Zhong Qingxiao felt a sudden chill, nausea rising uncontrollably. He leaned over the bed, retching, the sensation so repulsive he never wanted to recall it.
Luo Ke, puzzled, stared at Zhong Qingxiao, displeased with his reaction.
“What are you doing?” Her voice turned cold.
Zhong Qingxiao knew he was provoking the monster, but he couldn’t suppress it. The nausea overwhelmed his nerves, his face flushed red from coughing, even his eyes moist.
“What are you doing?” Luo Ke was displeased, very displeased. She approached Zhong Qingxiao, pulling his hair to force him to look up. “Are you disgusted by me?”
Zhong Qingxiao couldn’t answer, his body trembling again, tears sliding from his eyes to his nose, then dripping from his nose tip, caught by Luo Ke’s hand.
Luo Ke tossed him back onto the bed, watching him gasp for breath, then leaned in to kiss him again. His soft lips were nibbled like candy, the subsequent actions unfolding naturally.
Zhong Qingxiao’s eyes widened in disbelief at Luo Ke’s intentions. Even though he had no strength left, his survival instinct made him grip her hand tightly.
“No, no,” Zhong Qingxiao’s voice was hoarse, “I’ll die.”
Luo Ke’s eyes sparkled with amusement. Yes, humans were so fragile, yet she brushed aside Zhong Qingxiao’s hand, doing as she pleased.
Zhong Qingxiao tensed, realizing his life or death meant nothing to her. Monsters didn’t care.
But slowly, Zhong Qingxiao noticed a change. The burning sensation gradually lessened until it disappeared, taking with it the indescribable pain. His dizzy gaze fell on Luo Ke’s delicate profile, forcing him to believe-she was helping him heal.
He didn’t know what method she used, but by the end, that familiar sensation returned, Zhong Qingxiao tensed, his fingers red from gripping tightly.
It was the same as last night, that familiar filling sensation.
What was it…
His indescribable expression was too obvious, and Luo Ke easily read his thoughts, finding it amusing: “What do you think it is?”
Her slender fingers approached his nose, Zhong Qingxiao instinctively turned away, then heard her explanation.
“Just ordinary cleansing mucus, with some healing properties. Without it, do you really think you could have lasted all night?”
In necessary situations, this could even serve as a nutrient solution. Monsters didn’t need to eat, relying on this mucus for sustenance.
“I’m already very hungry, sharing so much with you.” Luo Ke smiled, “Aren’t you touched?”
Zhong Qingxiao was speechless. So it wasn’t what he thought… so it wasn’t male.
He felt ridiculous. It was a monster, yet he cared about its gender, the gender of a monster.
Zhong Qingxiao took a deep breath, slowly easing the dizziness in his head. He felt lighter, though he hated to admit it, but after Luo Ke’s so-called treatment, he felt much better.
Apart from still being tired, he felt no discomfort.
“Why… don’t you eat me?” Zhong Qingxiao struggled to sit up, looking at Luo Ke with complex emotions.
“Why would I eat you?” Luo Ke tilted her head, “I wouldn’t eat my own wife.”
“…What?” Zhong Qingxiao doubted his ears.
“Wife.” Luo Ke’s gaze swept over him, Zhong Qingxiao unaware of his current posture, wearing only a thin, oversized shirt, his long legs curled up, the shirt’s buttons completely undone.
She happily explained: “Monsters have brides, didn’t you know?”
Zhong Qingxiao’s eyes flickered. Should he have known? This kind of thing.
“I’ve read similar descriptions online, thought it was common knowledge for humans.” Luo Ke couldn’t help but reach out.
Whether in comics or written works, she’d seen plenty.
Zhong Qingxiao knew nothing, his reading limited to dry theoretical books, not even worth using as table props.
“…So, how many am I?” Zhong Qingxiao swallowed hard, wondering how many brides she’d had before him. Were they all men? If so, did that mean she was indeed female?
No, that wasn’t important. Zhong Qingxiao closed his eyes in frustration.
“Not how many.” Luo Ke blinked, “You’re my only bride.”
She looked at Zhong Qingxiao, her playful tone and serious demeanor making him question whether to believe her.
“Monsters have only one bride in their lifetime.”
Soft and pleasant to touch, even affecting his heartbeat, thump, thump, yet his dear wife seemed indifferent to her advances, as if stunned by her words.
So cute.
“Zhong Qingxiao, I’m not like those mutated human trash.” Luo Ke stared into his eyes, “You can’t kill me.”
Zhong Qingxiao was taken aback.
His expression revealed a kind of confusion, making him appear pure and innocent. Such a skilled actor, Luo Ke’s eyes darkened. What explanation would he offer now?
“I never wanted to kill you.” Zhong Qingxiao exhaled softly, “I was just thinking if I could die with you.”
The worst outcome was just that, Zhong Qingxiao said without burden. He originally wanted to talk things over with Luo Ke, but realizing it was impossible, he gave up completely.
He couldn’t change Luo Ke. His only options were death or continuing this miserable existence.
“Die together?” Luo Ke’s reaction to the term was unexpectedly excited, “You want to die with me? You’ve decided to be my bride?”
She was so excited she began kissing Zhong Qingxiao’s cheeks.
Zhong Qingxiao frowned. He didn’t know what to say. A bride was her servant, right? A tool for her to vent, completely obedient to her. That’s what Luo Ke wanted, wasn’t it?
He wanted to maintain the original peace at home, thinking he could change Luo Ke’s mindset. After all, he’d taught many students at school, but now he had completely given up.
If his submission could bring continued peace at home, he had no reason to refuse. She no longer needed his consent. She could use him until she tired of him.
Zhong Qingxiao thought despairingly, as long as her boredom came a little later.
