My Girlfriend's a Monster - Chapter 37
Yan Cheng and Hu Qiang were eager to take a shower, calling everyone back to the 18th floor. With so many people, they needed to split into two elevators. The bloodstains previously in the elevator had dried completely, and Luo Ke didn’t hesitate to step into the clean one.
Bai Lan took a deep breath and muttered to herself, “The monsters in this building should all be dealt with by now, right? I haven’t seen any new ones lately.”
No sooner had she finished speaking than someone tugged at her clothes. Looking down, Bai Lan saw Sisi with a sobbing face looking pitifully at her. It was only then that Bai Lan remembered how Sisi had been thrown into the mouth of a monster by Luo Ke earlier that day.
It was unbelievable!
Turning to look for Luo Ke, Bai Lan first caught sight of Zhong Qingxiao. She squinted slightly and asked, “Professor Zhong, what happened to your mouth?”
After asking, Bai Lan immediately realized how silly her question was and quickly turned her head away, saying, “Never mind!”
Ah, those two are really sweet! They still remember to kiss in this kind of environment. But is Keke really that fierce?
Bai Lan’s thoughts began to drift. Huo Sisi was visibly upset, tugging at Bai Lan’s clothes again, making a tearful expression.
Bai Lan looked down again, oh right, Keke had thrown her into the monster’s mouth… No wonder she could break a monster’s arm with a cane last time! She must be really strong!
“Luo Ke!” Bai Lan called out sternly.
Huo Sisi smirked slightly; someone had to stand up for her rights.
Luo Ke looked up, leaning in the corner of the elevator. Bai Lan turned around and saw her, impatiently walking up to Luo Ke and starting, “I have something to ask you!”
Luo Ke’s gaze was calm, Huo Sisi’s eyes twinkling-go ahead! It’s time someone noticed this!
“How did you get so strong?” Bai Lan asked. “I want to be just like you!”
What!? Huo Sisi felt as if she had been struck by lightning. Was that what she was asking?
Luo Ke’s deep gaze swept over Huo Sisi, who looked away guiltily. Luo Ke spoke softly, “It’s natural.”
Bai Lan sighed in resignation.
[Want to tattle, useless one?] Luo Ke murmured lightly. [Have you lived enough already?]
After warning Huo Sisi, she continued, “If you’re looking for a shortcut, boxing might be a good choice.”
Bai Lan pondered, “I’ll figure out how to get a punching bag.”
The elevator smoothly reached the 18th floor. Each building, A and B, had a communal storage room. After everyone cleaned up the cluttered space, they set up a communal sleeping area-females in Building A, males in Building B.
Once home, Curly eagerly wagged his tail and rubbed against them. Zhong Shuping watched his son pet the dog with little enthusiasm and asked, “Did something happen today?”
Luo Ke replied, “I killed that Giant Monster.”
Zhong Shuping’s stern expression didn’t change, unsure whether to feel relieved or still worried for them.
“Let’s eat.” Luo Meihua had just finished setting the table. The food was simple, but under the circumstances, having enough to eat was already quite good.
Luo Ke sat at the table, picked up a piece of beef, smelled it, and put it in her mouth.
The taste was not bad, probably salt-baked, but the meat was a bit tough… like chewing on wax, Luo Ke fell silent.
Truthfully, she only liked fresh food, freshly killed and served immediately. If not for disliking the taste of raw beef, she would have eaten a whole cow alive.
Unable to accept the meat as it was, Luo Ke pushed her plate away: “I’m not eating.”
Zhong Qingxiao paused with his chopsticks.
Luo Meihua watched as she got up from the table after eating only one piece and couldn’t help but call out, “You…”
Before she could finish, Zhong Qingxiao interjected, “Auntie, let’s eat.”
Luo Meihua paused, realizing her future son-in-law looked pale. What’s wrong? Did the two of them have a fight? That beef was not easy for her son-in-law to get!
After dinner, Zhong Qingxiao was washing dishes when his usually reticent father stood at the kitchen doorway, speaking solemnly, “You young people should resolve any issues properly. What time is it now? Shouldn’t…”
Zhong Qingxiao turned his face, and his father stopped abruptly, his gaze landing on his son’s visibly swollen lips, stuttering the rest of his words.
“Can… can… never mind, it’s nothing.”
Zhong Shuping quickly left, seemingly without any conflict.
Zhong Qingxiao felt his father was really strange. It wasn’t until he was taking a shower that he suddenly realized what happened earlier with Bai Lan and his father’s hesitations-his lips were too swollen, clearly kissed.
Zhong Qingxiao took a deep breath, he had just dried off and was about to get dressed when he felt a pair of hands on his chest, a cold breath following like water seeping through cracks.
“Aren’t you coming out yet? Do you need to stay that long?”
“I just stayed five minutes longer.” Zhong Qingxiao didn’t know how to face Luo Ke anymore; their relationship seemed to have reset to an even worse state.
Luo Ke appeared behind him, her hands massaging him more vigorously after not seeing the reaction she expected from him.
Her slender fingertips dug in, leaving several mottled red marks. Zhong Qingxiao shivered from pain, a moan escaping his lips. He really didn’t understand, “What exactly do you want?”
“Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that?” Luo Ke whispered lightly.
The bathroom door opened, and Zhong Qingxiao was dragged and thrown onto the bed, still naked. His limbs were again restrained by strong tentacles, now visible, crawling across the bedroom like vines, resembling snakes even more.
“Zhong Qingxiao, it seems you are throwing a tantrum over an insignificant child.”
“Didn’t I deny your request to save that useless screamer today?” Luo Ke licked her teeth over and over, straddling Zhong Qingxiao. For the first time, he saw what her tongue looked like up close.
It was forked like a snake’s, as long as an adult’s hand.
The impression of a monster deepened in Zhong Qingxiao’s heart, a fear more overwhelming than any external monster, because he knew there was nowhere to hide, no escape.
Maybe it was a survival instinct that made him adopt a yielding posture. Zhong Qingxiao could only explain, “I’m not angry about it anymore.”
From the beginning, it wasn’t anger he harbored.
“Good.” Luo Ke caressed his face.
It had been only a day since she promised Zhong Qingxiao time to think, and although Luo Ke lacked morals, she wouldn’t break her promise to her dear wife. So tonight, she would just hold Zhong Qingxiao as they slept.
The entangled tentacles wrapped around Zhong Qingxiao’s body, not too tight, yet he felt like he couldn’t breathe. His eyes were sealed, with only the sensation of breathing left at his chest, a cold breath following. Zhong Qingxiao had the illusion-he felt like he was drowning.
What should he do… He wanted to change this situation, even missing the times before he knew Luo Ke was a monster. Back then, Xiao Ke seemed to always relieve his fatigue, but now, Luo Ke was the source of his fear.
“Hmm…” Zhong Qingxiao shivered again, the pain felt like bleeding. He even thought he was about to be bitten off, like a fish laid on a chopping board.
His consciousness was clear, his mind chaotic, and Zhong Qingxiao was acutely aware that he seemed to exist as food.
Oh, what a chaotic mental field.
Luo Ke raised her head from Zhong Qingxiao’s chest, intending to look into his eyes, only to realize too late that her tentacles had completely covered them. She couldn’t see a thing.
The red tentacles moved over the superior male body, the stark contrast exhilarating Luo Ke. She touched the deep bite marks she had left, wondering if she had used too much force.
Was it too much? She stopped tormenting Zhong Qingxiao and turned off the bedroom light.
Hunger crept up in the dead of night, making Luo Ke’s stomach cramp violently, reminiscent of the torturous times on the solitary planet.
Hungry, so hungry, her overwhelming appetite flared up like a flame, baking her.
She craved meat… fresh meat.
Her stomach growled, the sound almost deafening to her alone.
Her eyes in the dark seemed to emit light, pitch black, as if they could devour everything-the Abyss.
Luo Ke got up, so hungry… She pressed her hand hard against her stomach, the immense desire nearly overwhelming her, her deep eyes gradually falling on the sleeping human beside her.
Aromatic, delicious-he smelled good, looked pretty, truly a fine food.
Moreover, Luo Ke detected a faint scent of blood on him, so faint as to be almost negligible, but she was sharp enough.
She sniffed, the low growl in her throat like a wild beast.
Zhong Qingxiao had actually been awake for a while. The moment Luo Ke suddenly sat up, he pretended to sleep while secretly observing the monster beside him, watching her wait for a long while before suddenly turning to look at him.
Seeing those eyes, Zhong Qingxiao nearly cried out. They were completely black, without any trace of human whiteness. He bit down hard on his teeth, not making a sound, his instincts keeping him silent.
The monster moved closer, and he heard a strange growl. The monster leaned over him, sniffing something.
Zhong Qingxiao’s heart raced, his blood freezing. His shirt was lifted again, and Zhong Qingxiao didn’t know how to resist. He was afraid, afraid he would become her food, even more afraid of the consequences if he tried to escape or resist.
So hungry…
He really smelled good, very tasty.
Luo Ke couldn’t help but stick out her tongue, revealing teeth unlike any human’s.
Zhong Qingxiao clenched his fist, the place where he had been severely bitten before was now gently licked. He tensed up his whole body.
Sucking… it felt good to suck, Luo Ke liked their shape, pretty. She didn’t use much force, just persistently nibbled.
But this level of teasing couldn’t stop her surging appetite. In the dark, her eyes fixed on the human’s face.
Such a pretty face, Luo Ke leaned down, very close, examining it.
“Dear wife…” she murmured from her mouth, the voice as if from ancient times.
Zhong Qingxiao kept his eyes tightly shut, not daring to look at that moment, but he knew the monster was very close. He heard the monster say something in a strange tone. He couldn’t understand, only vaguely recognizing perhaps three notes.
A cold thing landed on his cheek. At first, Zhong Qingxiao thought it was the monster’s saliva… then he realized it wasn’t saliva, but-
Luo Ke kissed him, her beautiful dear wife, even looking cute while asleep.
What a pity, she couldn’t continue to admire him. She needed to find something to eat.
Preferably… alive.
