Morphing Heavens - Chapter 99 - Angelic Warrior
The sound of the door being broken awake startled everyone else in the carriage. Yun Huo and the others immediately got up from their sleep. Yun Lie quickly jumped to the front, looking at Yun Chi leaning against the carriage wall, wiping away blood, and at the series of holes. He began to understand the situation. It seemed that the mysterious woman who resembled an angel had awakened. Thinking of this, Yun Chi tightened his grip, feeling unease. They couldn’t tell whether she was an enemy or a friend; if she decided to unleash her power, the brothers would certainly be no match for her. But they needed to deal with the current situation first, so he anxiously asked, “Yun Chi, what happened?”
As he spoke, he helped Yun Chi up. Yun Chi’s face was pale as he stood up straight, licking the congealed blood at the corner of his mouth. He pointed inside and said, “She’s awake. What an intense aura.” As he spoke, more congealed blood surged from his mouth. Yun Lie quickly helped him to a sofa to rest before turning back slowly to enter the room. Yun Huo followed him inside, glancing at the woman lying on the bed, completely still, and remarked, “Just as I expected, she’s not an ordinary woman.”
Yun Lie nodded slightly and said calmly, “We should still be cautious. Let’s secure her to the bed.” After saying that, he gestured for Yun Huo to help him bind her to the bed with bandages. They patted their hands in satisfaction, observing her peaceful appearance, while the other brothers gradually woke up. Seeing the broken door and the unfamiliar woman tied to the bed, along with Yun Chi gasping for breath on the side, Yun De exclaimed, “What are you doing? Yun Chi, why did you do this? Didn’t you hear what elder brother said?”
“Bam!” Yun Huo punched Yun De, knocking him to the ground. He said, “Don’t jump to conclusions before you figure out what’s going on.”
“Hey, I was just joking!” Yun De defended himself, covering his head with a pained expression.
At that moment, Yue Shuang walked out from the kitchen and said, “Everyone’s awake. Come and eat.” Yun Shi excitedly replied, “It’s time to eat! Hurry up!” He then jumped to his seat and began to eat heartily. The other brothers, accustomed to this, walked to the table and sat down to have their meal. While eating, Yun Huo kept an eye on the movement of the woman in the room, sensing that she might wake up soon.
Suddenly, the woman lying on the bed slowly opened her eyes. Turning her head, she saw several men gathered around, chatting and laughing, and her expression immediately turned to panic. In a frightened voice, she exclaimed, “Where is this? Ah! Let me go! Who are you?” But she realized she couldn’t exert any force, as the bandages tightly wrapped around her like a zongzi.
Hearing her words, Yun Huo swiftly jumped to the bedside, “You’re awake? This is our carriage. You’ve sustained serious injuries, so don’t struggle. I’ll get you something to eat shortly!”
Seeing the young man in front of her, the woman furrowed her brows. “Human! You lowly race, let me go at once! Or else…”
“Or else what? Aren’t you just an angel?” Yun Lie interrupted her. Yun Huo raised his hand to stop Yun Lie, saying, “It’s very rude to interrupt someone, my lady. Where exactly do you come from? How did you get so seriously injured?” The woman ignored him, turning her head away to avoid looking at him.
Yun Lie continued, “Don’t be so self-important. We saved you. You should know how much a female angel could sell for on the black market. If we meant you harm… you’d be dead by now!”
“Is that so, young man? Well, thank you very much,” the woman replied, turning her head to look at Yun Lie. At that moment, as their gazes crossed, Yun Lie felt a shudder run through his body uncontrollably. He reached for his broadsword, but Yun Huo saw this and kicked Yun Lie out of the carriage, turning back to glare at her. “How dare you! I don’t care where your disdain comes from, what race you are, or what strength you possess! We’re the ones who saved you. Do you plan to kill us now?”
Under Yun Huo’s fierce gaze, the woman tried to exert control over him. To her surprise, her heart manipulation technique had no effect on him. As she watched him approach step by step, she huffed defiantly, “Hmph! A mere human dares to talk to me like this. I have no intention of killing you; I just want to cut these damned bandages off!”
After saying that, she turned her head away again, only to see her own clothes and screamed, “How dare you, you bunch of young men! You actually changed my clothes! I will kill you!” She looked at Yun Huo with cold eyes, and the aura around her began to gather. Waves of spatial power condensed around her. Sensing this immense power, the other brothers paused their meal and gathered at the door to watch. Yue Shuang, standing behind them, said, “Why aren’t you eating? Is the food not to your taste?” She was then pulled into the room by Yun Huo, who did this often, so she didn’t feel scared.
Once she was in the bedroom, Yun Huo pointed at Yue Shuang and laughed, “Hehe, it wasn’t us who changed your clothes; it was her!”
Upon seeing Yue Shuang, the woman let out a breath of relief. “I thought… I truly apologize for earlier!”
“Haha, it’s alright. I’m just glad you’re awake. But you still haven’t answered my question! Where are you from, and how did you get such serious injuries?” Yun Huo asked with a smile as he looked at her.
Upon hearing this, the woman fell into deep thought as she recalled the blood-soaked battle that shook the continent, worry flashing in her eyes. With a sigh, she said, “I am an Angelic Warrior from the celestial court. I fainted after a major battle, and I just woke up now. You young ones don’t seem like locals, do you?”
“Wow! A major battle! Who did you fight?” Yun Huo asked excitedly. A martial emperor-level battle was exceptionally rare. For someone like him, who was eager to grow stronger and loved fighting, it was incredibly captivating!
The woman smiled faintly and replied, “That’s something I can’t tell you. If you knew, I would have to kill you to keep it a secret!” Her enchanting smile was enough to mesmerize the brothers, leaving them, except for Yun Huo standing in front, dazed and almost sleepy as they failed to catch her words.
At that moment, Yun Lie walked in from outside, rubbing his back in annoyance. “Second brother, could you not be so rough?!” When he saw his younger brothers rolling on the floor, he immediately asked, “What did you do to my brothers, you enchantress?”
The woman signaled for them to help her remove the bandages. Yue Shuang quickly used her knife to cut the bandages away. As soon as the woman sat up, leaning against the headboard, she waved her left hand, and the brothers immediately snapped back to their senses. The woman looked at Yun Huo and said, “You, little man, have quite the composure. Our meeting here must be fate. Once I’m healed, I’ll teach you a few moves as a form of gratitude.”
Hearing this, Yun Huo exclaimed excitedly, “Really? Thank you so much! Haha, I’ll go get you some food!” With that, he turned and disappeared into the room.
Seeing Yun Chi still writhing in pain, the woman said, “I apologize, young man; my body protection technique harmed you.”
“It’s nothing, I’m fine. But how about you, Sister Angel? Are your injuries serious?” Yun Chi replied, pretending to be calm.
Hearing Yun Chi call her “sister,” the woman couldn’t help but laugh. “You flatter me, young man. If my child were still alive, they would be about your age!” The brothers present gasped in unison, “What? You already have a child? You don’t look much older than Yue Shuang!”
At that moment, the woman’s expression darkened. “Alright, I don’t want to talk about this. Suffice it to say, I’m a generation older than you.” With that, she turned and lay back down. The brothers walked out of the room one by one, each wearing a look of surprise. The woman gazed at the pink walls, remembering the battle against the Demon Lord that had caused her such grave injuries! Thinking of this, her expression darkened even more as she muttered to herself, “That despicable guy, I will bring you to justice!”
