Master of Heaven and Earth - Chapter 117 - Great Battle
“Lead the way, Yi-Ge,” Leng Yan said, tilting his head to signal Yi Shuihan to go ahead.
“Xuelan, you must be careful later. If anything seems off, leave immediately,” Leng Yan transmitted quietly to Xuelan.
His serious tone made Xuelan sense something unusual.
Yi Shuihan’s expression was calm, and it was unclear what he was thinking. He pulled out a directional needle, gave it a gentle shake, and a cold light flashed. With cold air radiating from him, Yi Shuihan charged directly in, prompting Leng Yan to follow closely behind, realizing that his brother had already made plans.
“Leng Yan, wait for me!” Xuelan was still processing the sound transmission from Leng Yan when the two charged out, leaving her a bit stunned, and she hurried to catch up.
“Listen to me; hide from a distance, don’t let anyone discover you, and be ready for my signal.”
Upon hearing Leng Yan’s hidden transmission, Xuelan immediately understood. She slowed down, gathering her strength, ready to spring into action.
Yi Shuihan turned into a beam of cold light, sailing through without a hitch. Suddenly, he stopped before a massive stone gate.
Just as he was about to touch the stone gate, an unexpected change occurred-a group of strange Stone Generals, wielding massive swords, instantly surrounded them, coming at them like living puppets.
Leng Yan was shocked by this tactic. He could tell at a glance that these Stone Generals had at least been at the Unification Realm when they were alive, and they had been wickedly refined into puppets-a ruthless method indeed.
A fierce battle was about to erupt. While fighting and retreating, Leng Yan was clearly taking it easy, gasping for breath, he said, “Junior brother, if you don’t make your move soon, we won’t get past this hurdle.”
The Stone Generals coordinated perfectly, splitting into four and surrounding Leng Yan and Yi Shuihan from all sides. Realizing the formation of a sword formation, Leng Yan’s face changed; he hadn’t expected this!
“Yi Shuihan, you’re well-versed in the world; do you know what sword formation this is?”
“If I’m not mistaken, it should be the Heaven and Earth Sword Killing Formation,” Yi Shuihan replied, his eyes filled with excitement, then his expression shifted. “This isn’t good; we can’t let them complete the formation. We must finish this quickly.”
The wind howled, and Yi Shuihan’s sword finally came out. Once it was drawn, it unleashed a power capable of shattering the heavens-a chilling might erupted.
With the disappearance of the brave, his sword momentum surged forward, truly supreme in swordsmanship. The cold light from the sword swiftly struck down all the Stone Generals around him.
“Leng-Ge, hiding your abilities like this really makes me look down on you.”
Seeing this, Leng Yan naturally refused to be outdone. “Alright, I won’t let you underestimate me today,” he declared, unleashing his ultimate move as well. A massive hammer appeared in his hand- the Thunder God’s Hammer. With one strike, it could break through countless techniques. Behind him loomed a majestic phantom of the Thunder God. With a powerful swing, he smashed down, obliterating all the Stone Generals to ashes.
The actions of the two were evidently an attempt to shock each other, which made Leng Yan even more curious about the so-called swordsmanship inheritance-just which powerful figure had left it behind?
“Leng-Ge, break open the stone gate. I only want the swordsmanship inheritance; everything else is yours,” Yi Shuihan said, his eyes still as cold as ice, earning him more respect from Leng Yan.
To maintain such composure in the face of immense temptation spoke volumes about him. Just this quality seemed to set him apart from many other talents.
With a loud crash, their attacks landed, but the stone gate stood intact-however, the residual power from their strikes caused both of them to stagger back a step.
Just then, the massive stone gate began to shift. From its top, bottom, and sides emerged four half-foot-long stone pillars, which then emitted blinding white beams of light that converged at the center of the stone gate.
A massive teleportation formation appeared on the gate.
This stone gate was definitely unusual. While Leng Yan was deep in thought, Yi Shuihan made his move.
“I’ll go ahead. Take care of yourself,” he said, and in an instant, his speed surged, transforming into a beam of cold light as he vanished into the stone gate. With a loud boom, the teleportation formation disappeared, and the four stone pillars shattered, leaving only Leng Yan standing there.
He fixed his gaze on the pattern on the stone gate, deep in contemplation-there was a figure holding a sword, pointing it toward the sky.
A fleeting and elusive realization bloomed in his mind, but just as he prepared to meditate and comprehend it, he noticed a faint ripple in the space to his right-someone was hiding within!
“Those sneaky little rodents hiding in the shadows, it’s about time you showed yourselves, isn’t it?” Leng Yan felt a twinge of annoyance as his moment of comprehension was so rudely interrupted.
“As expected of a genius, you noticed us so quickly,” replied one of the voices from the shadows.
“You’re mistaken; those are dead geniuses. Can they even be considered?” another voice scoffed.
“Of course they can’t,” Jin Kuang laughed wantonly. “Kid, kneel down and beg for mercy, and in my mercy, I might just leave you with a whole corpse.”
“What’s the rush? Just crawl your way under me, and I’ll let you keep a pitiful little life,” the female voice chimed in, revealing an unexpected sadistic side.
Seeing the swagger of the opponents, Leng Yan feigned fear on the surface but couldn’t help feeling disdainful within. “Do you really think you’ve got me locked down?”
This had all been within Leng Yan’s expectations; he just hadn’t expected them to act so quickly and reveal their intentions.
“Haha, kid, facing death, you still dare to act tough. I wonder where you get your courage from?” As Ji Long and Guo Zheng appeared, Leng Yan found his escape routes completely sealed off-a dire situation for anyone else.
“Guo Zheng, Ji Long, how shameless can you be? Colluding with others like this is utterly despicable,” Leng Yan said, his voice laced with contempt.
Hearing this, Ji Long’s fury erupted uncontrollably. “You brought this on yourself. Today is the day you die.”
“If you want me dead, let’s see if you have the capability to do it,” Leng Yan retorted, a mocking smile twisting at the corners of his mouth, chilling everyone around him.
“Hmph, I want to see what you can do,” Ji Long said, his battle intent fierce as he charged forward, embodying the saying that the bird that sticks its head out gets shot.
With a roar, Ji Long unleashed a powerful punch infused with the might of a true dragon. A shadow of a black dragon coiled around him, and a dragon’s roar pierced the air.
The following explosion surged forth, bringing with it an overwhelming pressure, slamming directly toward Leng Yan’s face.
“A mere phantom dragon dares to act so brazenly before me?” Leng Yan responded, unhesitatingly countering with a punch of his own.
With immense strength behind his strike, the collision was deafening. Leng Yan’s fist met Ji Long’s with force that sent Ji Long stumbling backward, his expression darkening as he struggled to regain his balance.
“Truly a recognized genius, you haven’t disappointed us. Now take a move from me and see how it goes,” Jin Kuang stepped forward, casually pointing a finger.
A golden flame shot out, aimed directly at Leng Yan’s chest.
With a swift palm push, Leng Yan dispersed the flame, but it didn’t vanish completely. “Hahaha!” Jin Kuang’s laughter echoed, “You think you can block my golden flames with just a single palm? What a foolish dream, underestimating your own strength.”
As the fire drew closer, Leng Yan prepared to unleash a powerful attack, but unexpectedly, the demon spirit appeared on its own, opening its mouth and directly swallowing the golden flame.
Startled by the sudden loss of his flame, Jin Kuang exclaimed, “Damn it! Give my flame back!”
“Are you really that foolish?” Leng Yan’s taunts only fueled Jin Kuang’s anger further.
“Jin Kuang, stay calm,” Guo Zheng stepped up, adopting a righteous demeanor. “Leng Yan, even facing death, you still dare to resist. It’s truly sad for you.”
“Hmph, you wretched creature! I will tear you to pieces today,” Zhong Yong’s wife yelled fiercely.
Leng Yan chuckled. “The real tragedy is yours, marrying such a deranged wife. Perhaps you both are just a pair of freaks!”
Hearing this, Zhong Yong and his wife furiously seethed with rage. “Stop wasting words with him! Just take him down immediately or we might end up with unexpected troubles!”
With that, all of them unleashed their power, aiming to kill Leng Yan.
