Master of Heaven and Earth - Chapter 102 - Barehanded Fight with the Flood Dragon!
The cultivation of the Demon God Technique is divided into six stages: Demon Spirit, Demon Soldier, Demon General, Demon King, Demon Emperor, and Demon God. Each stage’s advancement is quite challenging for Leng Yan at this moment. However, the power of the Demon God Technique is unparalleled, far beyond that of the Nine Yin Fiend God Technique!
With a thought, Leng Yan activated his spirit, and the Demon Spirit bore a charmingly evil smile as it suddenly rose up, pushing its palm forward. Instantly, a massive palm print flew out with a roar and slammed into the distant cliff.
“Boom!”
With a loud crash, a gigantic palm print was left on the cliff. This imprint resembled a cave, going deeper than ten yards, showcasing the tremendous power behind that strike.
Seeing this, Leng Yan felt a surge of excitement, though he knew this magical technique consumed a great deal of essence power; with his current level of essence power, he could only afford to use it about ten times.
With a wave of his hand, the Demon Spirit transformed into a cloud of black mist and merged into Leng Yan’s body. He smiled and said, “Senior, this Demon God Technique is truly remarkable. If I could cultivate it to perfection, it might possess unfathomable power!”
“You are correct; this technique is indeed powerful, but your current cultivation level cannot unleash its full potential,” the Wind Beast said, downing a drink. “However, its power is still inferior to the Primordial Technique!”
“The Primordial Technique is that impressive?” Leng Yan asked in astonishment.
“Of course! Otherwise, why would it be called the Primordial Technique? Do you know what the term ‘Primordial’ means?” the Wind Beast replied with a smile.
“Is it about chaos?” Leng Yan inquired.
“Indeed, it has that connotation! ‘Primordial’ refers to chaos, while ‘Yuan’ signifies the beginning of everything. The Primordial Technique symbolizes returning to the essence of chaos and recreating the world. Isn’t that impressive?” the Wind Beast said, laughing.
Leng Yan took a deep breath and exclaimed, “That truly is impressive! To recreate the world-wouldn’t that mean becoming a deity!”
“Unfortunately, the Primordial Technique is exceedingly difficult. Throughout history, many have toiled to master it, yet no one has ever achieved enlightenment!” the Wind Beast shook its head and sighed.
“Success lies in effort! Since such a technique exists, there must be someone who can attain enlightenment,” Leng Yan replied confidently.
Two days later, Leng Yan bid farewell to the Wind Beast and left the canyon, having learned the exact location of the teleportation formation from the Wind Beast.
The teleportation formation was located within a deep pool, five hundred li south of the canyon. The Wind Beast mentioned that a Flood Dragon guarded this pool, with a cultivation level in the mid-stage of the unification realm.
Standing atop the Azure Sky Sword, the wind whirled around Leng Yan, dramatically increasing his speed. He covered the hundred-mile journey in less than half an hour.
After two more hours, Leng Yan finally spotted the deep pool. It was situated beneath a waterfall, its waters crystal clear and surrounded by lush trees, creating a picturesque scene!
Standing on a massive rock by the water’s edge, Leng Yan began to move his hands in a manner reminiscent of Tai Chi. As he gestured, the pool’s water started to swirl and gradually spun faster, eventually forming a rapidly rotating vortex!
“Bang!”
In the center of the vortex, a splash erupted as a Flood Dragon over fifty zhang long soared out, letting out a thunderous roar that echoed like a dragon’s chant.
The Flood Dragon launched itself from the pool and landed atop a mountain peak, its lantern-like eyes glaring fiercely at Leng Yan. Its scales glinted with a metallic sheen, and the red fur around its neck danced like flames. Its whiskers were like long whips, and its sturdy limbs resembled the trunks of willow trees, with its dragon claws sparkling coldly, displaying their sharpness!
Gazing at the Flood Dragon, Leng Yan felt as though he was looking at countless primordial spirit elixirs. It was not an exaggeration to think of the Flood Dragon as a treasure trove in itself.
Standing atop the mountain peak like a stone sculpture, the Flood Dragon suddenly shook its body and soared into the air, charging directly towards Leng Yan.
Leng Yan dared not be careless. He lifted his feet and leaped aside just in time. The massive rock where he had been standing was shattered into countless fragments by the Flood Dragon’s charge.
The sun essence wheel howled into action as the nine sky-splitting slashes activated instantly. Nine rotating gears emitted a buzzing sound as they slashed toward the Flood Dragon.
The Flood Dragon soared in the air, maneuvering swiftly to dodge the sun essence wheel; however, the sun essence wheel, controlled by Leng Yan, seemed to have a mind of its own as it relentlessly pursued after the dragon.
Seeing it could not escape, the Flood Dragon let out a furious roar. Suddenly, the waters of the pool below erupted, sending countless ice arrows shooting towards the sun essence wheel.
Standing on the Azure Sky Sword, Leng Yan pointed with a finger, and the ice arrows seemed to be halted in midair. However, maintaining this resistance was immensely challenging for him, as his cultivation level was far inferior to that of the Flood Dragon. He needed to overpower the dragon with sheer presence to instill fear and force its water arrows to retreat.
The water arrows were suspended in the air, appearing almost as if they were frozen in time.
Leng Yan shouted, “If you don’t want to die, just submit obediently. Otherwise, I will ensure you have no place to be buried!”
As he spoke, the sun essence wheel whizzed through the gaps between the ice arrows. Leng Yan then relaxed his resistance against the arrows and controlled his sword to move to the side.
With their resistance gone, the ice arrows crashed violently against the stone wall.
Although the Flood Dragon could not speak, it understood Leng Yan’s words. While not a true member of the Dragon Tribe, it still possessed a proud dignity. Leng Yan admired the dragon’s imposing stature and aimed to tame it as a mount, which only enraged the Flood Dragon further.
“Roar~”
With a fierce roar, the Flood Dragon suddenly turned its head and charged towards Leng Yan. The following nine sky-splitting slashes were swept aside by its powerful tail, showcasing its raw strength!
Seeing this, Leng Yan felt his own battle intent surge within him. After two days of refining his own body, he was eager to test his strength against this resilient Flood Dragon that could withstand the might of high-grade treasure tools.
With his magical treasure stowed, Leng Yan focused intently, cracking his knuckles in anticipation. The Flood Dragon charged towards him, its fiery eyes blazing.
Seizing the opportunity, Leng Yan leaped up, grabbing the dragon’s horns with both hands. With a powerful pull, he flipped himself onto its back.
The body of the Flood Dragon was broad but extremely slippery, and Leng Yan nearly lost his grip. Just as he managed to stabilize himself, the Flood Dragon erupted with fury, refusing to allow anyone to ride on its back.
Soaring into the sky, the Flood Dragon acted as if it had gone wild, twisting and turning in midair, trying every possible means to shake Leng Yan off.
Yet Leng Yan wouldn’t give in so easily. His right hand gripped the dragon’s coral-like horn like a steel clamp, while his left hand struck down forcefully on the dragon’s head as if wielding a massive hammer.
“Roar~”
Leng Yan’s punches caused the Flood Dragon intense pain, eliciting a high-pitched roar. No matter what it did, Leng Yan clung to it like an impervious adhesive!
“Do you submit or not?” Leng Yan shouted as he delivered another powerful punch.
Hearing this, the Flood Dragon became even more determined to resist, charging violently towards the mountain peak in an attempt to knock Leng Yan off.
However, Leng Yan refused to yield to its will. He held on tightly to the dragon’s horns and bellowed, using all his strength to wrench the dragon’s head to the side. With a swift turn, the Flood Dragon’s tail slammed against the mountain peak, shattering the rocks beneath!
“Still resisting? Get down!” Leng Yan shouted as he lifted his fist and began to rain blows on the Flood Dragon’s head like a furious storm.
In the past, Leng Yan might have needed the help of magical treasures to subdue this Flood Dragon. However, after undergoing the refinement from the Wind Beast, his strength had vastly increased. As his fists swung, the Flood Dragon writhed in pain, gradually descending towards the ground.
“Submit to me, and I will spare your life!” Leng Yan commanded, gripping the dragon’s horns tightly.
The Flood Dragon, already dazed from the beating, suddenly spotted the water pool and regained some spirit. It surged upward, aiming directly for the pool.
Leng Yan had thought victory was in his grasp, but this sudden burst of energy from the Flood Dragon signaled that the creature hadn’t given up on resisting!
“Trying to escape back to the water pool? Not a chance! Stay here and submit to me; that is your only way out!” Lightning flickered in Leng Yan’s eyes as he focused his thoughts, and the temperature of the entire water pool plunged sharply, instantly turning the water into solid ice.
“Bang!”
The Flood Dragon crashed against the ice, and with a loud cracking sound, fissures spread rapidly across the surface.
Using all his strength, Leng Yan pressed the Flood Dragon down onto the icy surface. Then, he released one hand and began striking its face fiercely!
Though the Flood Dragon had a powerful physique, it had never endured such a relentless beating from Leng Yan, leaving it with a sizable bruise!
The Flood Dragon roared in fury, thrashing its tail violently, shattering the ice and sending water gushing forth. In retaliation, it unleashed its magical techniques in an attempt to break free from the ice. Leng Yan, realizing what the dragon intended, quickly cast his spell again, re-encasing the cracked ice in a thick layer!
“Do you submit or not? If you continue to resist, don’t blame me for being heavy-handed!” Leng Yan panted, his voice firm.
“Roar~”
The Flood Dragon howled in anger but could not escape Leng Yan’s grip. While it also possessed magical techniques, it found itself at a disadvantage, constantly restrained by Leng Yan. Any spells it attempted to cast would have repercussions for itself as well.
Meanwhile, Leng Yan had no such worries; the more he fought, the more exhilarated he became…
