I Am Not a Master - Chapter 57
It was said that Zhuang’s second hideout was near Mount Dahua, close to City E. Unlike Dalong Mountain, which gained fame through its film sets, Mount Dahua was renowned for its picturesque scenery and rolling hills. Many people loved hiking there, making it somewhat of a tourist hotspot.
Gu Feiyin stood at the foot of the mountain, not in the mood to admire the scenery. After all, she was currently blind, seeing everything as a blur. Besides, her mind was filled with the anticipation of imminent wealth. Once she had the money, she could enjoy the mountains and rivers later.
The mountain path was troublesome to navigate. Zhuang’s treasure stash was surely hidden in a secretive, steep spot, otherwise it would have been easily discovered by humans. So, Gu Feiyin had to rely on Neighbor Miss and Old Lady to take turns carrying her up the mountain.
Zhuang continuously attempted to delay, hoping to find a chance to escape. But no matter how he stalled, the Long Black Straight Hair said nothing. Whenever she got hungry, she would eat, and as her food source, he found himself being consumed more and more. With his limbs nearly gone, he dared not delay further, fearing he’d be reduced to just a head, losing his handsome appearance.
Thinking this, he wished he could slap himself. Why had he brought this upon himself? He should have just led the wicked Long Black Straight Hair there quickly; maybe he could have saved a leg!
Zhuang, dejected and desperate, said, “It’s just up ahead. I remember there’s a cave there, which is the entrance. I usually don’t walk; I just pass through walls, so I’m not entirely sure. You’ll have to look around.”
The Red-Dressed Ghost raised her hand and lashed out with a whip. Her skill in whipping both humans and ghosts was top-notch, swift and precise. “You’ve led us on so many wild goose chases. Don’t try any tricks, or I’ll whip you until your soul scatters.”
Even Neighbor Miss and Old Lady glared at Zhuang, their expressions displeased.
The Headless Ghost and Armless Ghost, however, were quite content. This was their first time traveling far as ghosts, and they enjoyed the experience, especially with so many companions around.
Gu Feiyin tugged on the rope and gave Zhuang a good beating. He cried out in pain, causing the surrounding ghosts to step back in fear. Zhuang pleaded, “I’m telling the truth! It’s really just ahead. You’ll see once you go in. I wouldn’t dare lie to you… I swear!”
Gu Feiyin had punched his nose and eyes askew, leaving only his mouth intact. Satisfied, she said, “If you dare lie again, I’ll beat you more.”
Zhuang: “…” 🙁
Gu Feiyin climbed onto Neighbor Miss’s back and continued forward for about a hundred meters. Sure enough, they found a cliff covered in vegetation and vines. As for the cave, they’d have to search carefully.
“Are you sure it’s in this mountain?”
Zhuang nodded pitifully, “I’m sure. I wouldn’t dare lie to you. This is the path I always take.”
Gu Feiyin nodded with satisfaction and instructed the Little Ghosts to search for the cave. The entrance was hidden beneath a tangle of vines, and it took some effort for the Little Ghosts to clear away the overgrowth. Gu Feiyin peered into the cave; it was pitch dark and indistinct. After pondering for a moment, she climbed onto Neighbor Miss’s back, letting her carry her inside.
There might be traps in the pit; she wasn’t afraid of ghosts, but she certainly didn’t want to get hurt.
Neighbor Miss: …
Gu Feiyin was genuinely excited. The pit was bound to contain plenty of Ghost Money, along with gold, silver, and jade. She planned to save the Ghost Money for her afterlife and sell the precious metals and stones for cash. It was a win-win situation!
A swarm of ghosts poured into the cave, floating along as they explored. After about twenty minutes, the irregular cave transformed into a square, man-made stone passage. The Red-Dressed Ghost exclaimed, “This pit seems quite large! It’s my first time in such a place. Zhuang, were you some kind of tycoon when you were alive?”
The Armless Ghost added, “Yeah, only a wealthy person could afford such a luxurious pit.”
“Maybe a noble or aristocrat,” someone speculated.
Zhuang replied dejectedly, “This isn’t my pit. I stumbled upon it by accident. Seeing it was ghost-free and well-hidden, I made it my secret base. Over the years, most of the gold and jewels I’ve found outside are stored here.”
Gu Feiyin patted his half-missing forehead approvingly, “Well done.”
Zhuang: …
Of course, it’s well done now that you’ve benefited from it. 🙁
The Red-Dressed Ghost couldn’t help but chuckle, feeling a rare sense of sympathy for Zhuang. But he deserved it; he had escaped but chose to fight for love against the Long Black Straight Hair. Wasn’t he just asking for trouble? Love-struck ghosts are indeed brainless.
She grew impatient with the slow pace and was curious about the pit. It couldn’t have been built by ordinary people. She leaped forward, running ahead. Even the Old Lady, clutching her broom, floated faster than usual. The Armless Ghost and Headless Ghost couldn’t resist exploring, looking around with fascination. Only Neighbor Miss hung her head, floating along with Gu Feiyin and the tattered Zhuang on her back.
Gu Feiyin lay on Neighbor Miss’s back, whispering expectantly in her ear, “Hehe, we’re about to strike it rich!”
Neighbor Miss: …
Zhuang: …
Suddenly, the Red-Dressed Ghost, who had ventured off somewhere, hurried back with the Old Lady floating behind her, unusually anxious.
“What happened?”
“Bad news, I saw several ghosts ahead!”
It turned out the Red-Dressed Ghost and Old Lady had been floating and exploring when they spotted several Little Ghosts wandering inside. Afraid of being discovered, they quickly returned.
Gu Feiyin was shocked, “There are ghosts here?”
Zhuang was taken aback, “What the heck? How could there be other ghosts? That’s impossible! Has some other ghost taken over my lair? Which ghost is this? That’s so shameless, not knowing this place already has an owner!”
“How would I know?” The Red-Dressed Ghost raised her hand and lashed out again. “Are you trying to lure us into someone else’s lair, hoping we’ll fight and weaken each other, so you can escape and reap the benefits?”
Zhuang quickly defended himself, “No, no, this really is my lair. The wealth I’ve accumulated over the years, some of it was stored in the manor I used to live in, and the rest is hidden here. I haven’t told any ghost! If there are ghosts here, they must have discovered it and thought it was an unclaimed lair, so they took it over!”
Gu Feiyin pondered for a moment. That explanation wasn’t entirely impossible. After all, unclaimed things are often taken over, especially with so much money involved. Who wouldn’t be tempted? It’s practically inevitable.
But now what?
She thought she was coming to inherit a fortune, but now she’s facing obstacles right at the entrance.
Gu Feiyin was anxious. That was supposed to be her inheritance. Could it have already been taken over by other ghosts???
🙁
…
Ghosts in the lair-this was a major issue!
Gu Feiyin instructed the Red-Dressed Ghost and the Old Lady to gather the little ghosts and stop wandering around. They needed to come together and devise a plan.
The little ghosts received the message and returned, now crowded in the stone passageway. Only the Armless Ghost was still off somewhere, not having returned yet. The twenty-something little ghosts chattered away, “We don’t know if that ghost is strong. Can we take it back?”
“We only saw a few little ghosts and quickly left to avoid being discovered. We don’t know if there are other powerful big ghosts inside.”
“If it’s just little ghosts, we can handle it. We’ll explain the situation to them. They can’t just occupy someone else’s lair without reason, right? We could offer them some money, and everyone would be happy. But if there’s a big ghost, that’s trouble. Big ghosts are strong, and we can’t reason with them. Plus, big ghosts have many little ghosts under them. If a conflict arises, wouldn’t we be at a disadvantage?”
“What are you talking about? Isn’t this all the King’s property? They’re illegally occupying it. Even as ghosts, they can’t do that, right? Don’t they have any sense of justice?”
“…”
Zhuang listened to the group of ghosts earnestly discussing how to reclaim his lair, feeling moved to tears-if only he weren’t tied up and gnawed on so messily.
He sneaked a glance at the Long Black Straight Hair, whose face had been sour since earlier, and discreetly took a few steps back, fearing she’d take another bite if she got upset. He really couldn’t afford more injuries.
Gu Feiyin sighed. She never expected inheriting a fortune to be so complicated.
This was practically hers for the taking. No way she wanted to give up now. This was her chance to strike it rich overnight, to have the funds for advertising, to live the good life-wasn’t that just a matter of saying the word?
Could it be that fate is playing tricks again? Otherwise, how could this pit, undiscovered for decades, suddenly be occupied by another ghost just when she was about to inherit it?
Gu Feiyin cursed fate hundreds of times in her heart, feeling slightly relieved.
Boom-
A sound like thunder echoed from the horizon.
The ghosts around Gu Feiyin shivered in unison, exchanging puzzled glances, unsure of the reason.
As the ghosts continued their chatter, the Armless Ghost finally returned, reporting that after discovering other ghosts in the pit, he managed to mingle with the Little Ghosts and saw the ghost occupying the pit-a female ghost!
A female ghost?
The Red-Dressed Ghost speculated, “Could she be one of Zhuang’s ex-wives?”
Zhuang stammered, “N-no way, I didn’t tell them.”
They all paused.
The Red-Dressed Ghost rolled her eyes, “Seems like your ‘true love’ wasn’t that deep, huh? Didn’t even share your base with them. What, afraid of splitting assets in a divorce?”
Zhuang protested, “You’re so vulgar. True love can’t be measured by money. We don’t talk about money; it hurts feelings.”
The Red-Dressed Ghost feigned retching, “Ugh-”
Zhuang was speechless.
Gu Feiyin thought carefully and resignedly said, “Let’s go have a look. Maybe we can reason with her and get Zhuang’s inheritance back. We don’t need anything else.”
Zhuang was silent.
The ghosts were silent.
The more Gu Feiyin thought about it, the better the idea seemed. Ghosts should be reasonable, right? If the pit isn’t Zhuang’s, she doesn’t need it. But she must retrieve Zhuang’s stored inheritance; she can’t let this trip be in vain.
The journey had cost her money for travel, food, and lodging, not to mention hiring so many Little Ghosts as movers, which also required payment. Calculating it all, it was a considerable sum. She couldn’t afford to lose everything. Just thinking about it made her heart ache.
If she couldn’t get the money, her New Year would be bleak.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the tomb, several men lay in a stone chamber.
They had been kidnapped two days ago. Originally camping in a forest as a temporary base, they were caught off guard by a sudden gust of eerie wind. Black Mist enveloped them, leaving them dizzy and unaware of how they fainted. When they awoke, they found themselves in this unfamiliar place.
The chamber was dimly lit, with only a single torch providing light, allowing them to barely discern their surroundings. They seemed to be in a stone chamber, as the walls were stone, adorned with faint murals depicting a person who had died, accompanied by countless maids and guards for burial.
The chamber they lay in contained numerous skeletons.
Upon waking, they were terrified, nearly scared to death. Despite shouting for a long time, no one came, and there was no response. The air was eerily silent, with no sounds of wind or birds, as if they were the only five people there, making the atmosphere incredibly strange.
“Old Yang, what do you think is going on? I clearly remember sorting through some documents, then suddenly my mind went blank, and when I woke up, I was here. Who brought us here?”
“I feel the same. I was setting up a tent, and then I woke up here.”
“I was surveying the area nearby, and I have no idea what happened. It’s completely baffling! Who could have kidnapped us?”
“I’m just as confused. Whoever managed to snatch us away so stealthily must be quite skilled. I wonder what they want from us. Let’s wait and see; they must want something if they brought us here.”
Makes sense, let’s wait.
Unfortunately, that wait turned into two days.
During these two days, not a single person came to check on them, not even to bring food or water. At first, they had the energy to chat, move around the stone chamber, or shout, “Is anyone there? Help us!” But eventually, they were drained of all energy, even questioning the motives of their captors. Why kidnap them and then leave them to starve?
Especially being surrounded by skeletons every day, the mental strain was immense. When they finally managed to sleep, even their dreams were haunted by skeletons, leaving them increasingly haggard and anxious, losing the composure they once had.
Old Yang chuckled bitterly, “I wonder if we’ll ever make it back alive. I was planning to take my wife and son on a trip for the New Year. Never thought I’d end up in a situation like this.”
“Sigh, it’s all so unexpected. This kind of bizarre occurrence is beyond our control.”
Cai Jie, only twenty-three and freshly graduated from college, couldn’t help but cry, “I haven’t even had a girlfriend yet. I don’t want to die!”
Zhu Cheng, who was about the same age as Cai Jie, said, “Stop crying. We’re already short on water. If you cry, you’ll die faster.”
“…” Cai Jie painfully held back his tears and kicked Zhu Cheng. This guy, does he have no sympathy?
“Who could possibly have brought us here, and why?”
On the third day, the torch stuck in the wall outside suddenly floated up, and the tightly shut iron door swung open with a bang.
Old Yang and the others were shocked, thinking they were hallucinating from hunger. Otherwise, why would they see a floating torch with a shadowy figure beneath it? The figure was petite, like a woman.
They rubbed their eyes, “What’s going on? Am I seeing things because I’m starving?”
“I think I’m seeing things too…”
“Oh my gosh! The torch is floating, it’s floating towards us!”
“…!!!”
They struggled to get up from the ground, watching the torch float in from outside the door, a sight both bizarre and eerie. Although their profession often involved dealing with the deceased and they’d heard many stories, this was their first time experiencing such a thing.
The shadowy figure seemed to be right in front of them, her pale face twisted into a sinister smile, her voice chilling, “Today is the grand occasion of our lady’s hundredth birthday. You are guests, so come out and join us in celebrating her birthday.”
…Lady? Who is this lady?
Even if it’s a hundredth birthday, isn’t this celebration a bit too unconventional?
At this moment, Old Yang, Cai Jie, Zhu Cheng, and the other two were filled with uncertainty and fear. The woman holding the torch exuded an eerie chill, her figure blurry and indistinct. They realized they must have encountered some kind of supernatural being. The woman turned and said, “Follow me.”
They followed her out of the stone chamber, down a long stone passageway, unsure of where it led, their anxiety growing with each step. Zhu Cheng suddenly tugged on Cai Jie’s hand and gestured with his chin for him to look. Cai Jie, who had been preoccupied with their surroundings, glanced down and saw that the woman’s feet were hovering above the ground, and there was no shadow beneath her!
He was so startled he nearly cried out, but Zhu Cheng quickly covered his mouth, preventing them from drawing the woman’s attention.
Old Yang and the others noticed as well and whispered, “What’s going on? Did you discover something?”
Zhu Cheng, sweating with fear, whispered back, “We might have encountered a ghost!” Feet not touching the ground and no shadow-what else could it be but a ghost?
A ghost?!
Just then, the woman in front suddenly turned her head, giving them a chilling smile, as if she knew exactly what they were discussing.
They froze in place, feeling a shiver run down their spines, utterly terrified.
…
A few minutes later, they arrived at a larger stone chamber. Torches flickered dimly, casting a gloomy yellow light that revealed the room’s layout. It resembled a banquet hall, with stone tables and chairs arranged at the front and sides. Behind each table stood stone-carved maidservants, so lifelike with their stiff smiles that it felt as though they were staring right back at you, sending a chill down one’s spine.
The woman who had led them there said, “Sit wherever you like. The lady will be here shortly.”
But Old Yang and the others were too wary to sit. This place was so strange-who knew if sitting down might trigger some deadly trap?
Old Yang said, “Miss, we’re truly honored to celebrate your lady’s birthday, but we’ve been here for two days now. Our families must be worried. Could we let them know we’re safe?”
Cai Jie, suppressing his panic, added, “Yes, it’s an honor to celebrate for the lady, but we have some unfinished business. Could you grant us this small favor?”
They had noticed their phones were still with them when they arrived, but there was no signal at all-not even enough to dial emergency services. They had tried to conserve battery by not using them constantly. Even as they walked, they attempted to contact the outside world, but to no avail.
Now that they finally had someone to talk to, even if she was a ghost, they wanted to try their luck. Otherwise, it felt utterly hopeless.
Unfortunately, as soon as they spoke, the woman’s previously pleasant demeanor vanished. Her eyes widened as she said in a chilling tone, “If you want to leave, you can.”
Old Yang and the others felt a glimmer of hope, only to hear her continue coldly, “The living can’t leave, but if you die, you can go wherever you wish. If you want to leave, just die-then you can leave.”
In that instant, Old Yang, Cai Jie, and the others felt a cold wind sweep over them, leaving them chilled to the bone and utterly despairing.
“We, we…”
“If you’re afraid to die, then stay and have a nice meal.”
The woman gave a sinister smile, her pale eyes sweeping over them before she turned stiffly and walked out.
At that moment, the man who had been hiding behind Old Yang suddenly sprang up and charged at the woman. His eyes were bloodshot, his demeanor frantic, and he shouted, “Stop with the ghostly tricks and let us go, or you’ll regret it!”
He thought that if he could capture her, he could use her as leverage to force the mysterious lady to release them. They had been hungry for two days, and if they didn’t take action soon, they were doomed to perish!
However, his plan failed miserably. As he lunged at the woman, he found himself grabbing at thin air, passing right through her body and crashing to the ground. Shocked, he turned around to see the eerie ghost woman staring coldly at him. Her pitch-black eyes suddenly wept blood, her gray skin began to decay, and she transformed into a skeleton, her hollow eye sockets fixed on him. “What did you say? I didn’t catch that. Could you repeat it?”
The man let out a piercing scream, “A ghost-ahhh!!” Trembling all over, he frantically retreated, only to bump into something behind him. He turned around in panic to find himself face-to-face with a statue-like figure, its eyes staring at him as if he were already dead. Overwhelmed by fear, he rolled his eyes and fainted.
Old Yang shouted, “Old Meng!”
Cai Jie exclaimed, “Meng-Ge!”
They were in a state of panic, completely unprepared for this turn of events. Just as they were about to rush over, the eerie woman turned her head to gaze at them. Though she was a skeleton, flesh began to grow back, bloodily staring at them. “Do you wish to die to get out too?”
Terrified, their legs gave way, and they collapsed to the ground, shaking their heads frantically. “No, no, no, we’ve decided to stay and celebrate the lady’s centennial birthday. Please don’t misunderstand.”
Satisfied, the woman turned away, holding her torch as she left.
It was only after a long while that Old Yang and the others managed to get up from the ground and check on Meng Jiaming, who had been unconscious for quite some time. None of them had expected Meng Jiaming to suddenly act out and try to seize the woman. Though they had considered the idea, it was far too risky. After all, she was a ghost, her methods unpredictable, likely lacking a physical form, and they had no way to deal with her…
Now, having tested their theory, their suspicions were confirmed, leaving them even more hopeless.
“What do we do? Are we really going to die here? If I die, my parents will be devastated. I’m their only son; I don’t want to die…”
“That woman is so powerful, the mysterious lady must be even more formidable. We stand no chance against them. We can’t even get close to them, so what can we do?”
“People outside must have noticed we’re missing and will come looking for us.”
“Alas, we don’t even know where we are. How can they possibly find us?”
“I’ve always suspected that we might be inside the tomb we discovered earlier. We disappeared outside the tomb, and the layout here is very similar to that of the tomb…”
“Could it be that the lady is the owner of this tomb? And because we disturbed her, she wants to kill us all?”
“It’s possible…”
Hearing this made them even more desperate. Faced with such inexplicable forces, was there any hope for survival?
…
Soon, they didn’t even have time to dwell on despair, as several ghostly women floated in carrying stone trays. These ghostly figures were rigid, their faces pale with no expression at all. They drifted in, looking eerily strange. Whatever was in those trays appeared black and seemed to be moving, emanating a chilling aura that made them shiver just by being near it.
… Who would eat such a thing? Eating it would surely be fatal!
As they stood in uncertain fear, a woman in a black qipao entered, her face stark white, lips as red as blood, and her dark eyes rolling unnaturally, like a puppet forced into life.
The woman who had led them here was now following behind her.
“Are these my guests for today?”
“Yes, madam, they are today’s guests.”
The lady nodded, her smile stiff and unnatural: “Sit down, don’t just stand there.”
Old Yang and Cai Jie exchanged a glance, their hearts pounding with fear, but they found seats, knowing that if they didn’t, they might meet a grim fate.
The lady took her seat at the head of the table. Several maids entered, placing the trays before her and then retreated, their movements as stiff as Puppets.
The lady raised her hand, her long, dark nails gleaming, and her eerie face took on an air of solemnity: “Guests are guests, don’t be shy, eat.”
Old Yang & Cai Jie & Zhu Cheng & Gong Shenghua: “…………”
They looked down at the black, moving substance before them, swallowing hard. They didn’t know what it was, but they knew it was not to be eaten! Who knew what would happen if they did? At that moment, they envied the unconscious Meng Jiaming immensely…
Old Yang forced a smile, awkwardly saying, “Today is the lady’s hundredth birthday, naturally, the lady should go first. Please, madam.”
Cai Jie quickly chimed in, “Yes, yes, the lady should go first. We are but humble guests, honored to be treated by the lady, how could we dare to ‘invite’?”
Zhu Cheng and Gong Shenghua echoed their sentiments, practically elevating the lady to the heavens with their words.
Sure enough, the lady was delighted, letting out a strange laugh. She opened her gaping mouth and inhaled deeply, sucking the black substance from the tray into her mouth, leaving a long black trail…
The bizarre scene left Old Yang, Cai Jie, Zhu Cheng, and Gong Shenghua utterly stunned, their minds blank with shock!
…What exactly is in this dish?
After finishing one plate, the lady wiped her mouth, her eyes fixed on them, and said softly, “It’s your turn to eat now. Don’t be shy, go ahead.”
Old Yang and Cai Jie: “…”
They stared at the dish in front of them, cold sweat trickling down, hearts pounding with fear. How were they supposed to eat this?
“Hmph!” Seeing their hesitation, the lady slammed her hand on the table, “Why aren’t you eating? Do you look down on me, this old woman?”
“No, no, it’s not that…”
“Not that? Then why aren’t you eating?” The lady, who seemed amiable moments ago, suddenly flew into a rage, “Why aren’t they eating? What are you waiting for? Go and feed them yourself!”
The woman behind the lady stepped forward, a sinister smile on her face, “Yes, madam, I’ll feed them right away.”
Old Yang and the others were shocked, standing up to flee, but they barely took a few steps before stopping. Suddenly, several maids appeared at the door, and even the statues behind them turned their eyes to watch-
It’s over, truly over this time.
…
Faced with such threats, Old Yang, Cai Jie, Zhu Cheng, and Meng Jiaming could only sit rigidly on their chairs, unable to move. In front of them stood expressionless female ghosts, each holding a plate in one hand and the Black Blob in the other. Regardless of their refusal, they pushed the food towards their mouths.
Old Yang clamped his mouth shut, refusing to open it no matter what.
What to do? What to do? Was he really going to die here?
No, he didn’t want to die! How could he die in such a senseless way? His dreams were still unfulfilled; he couldn’t die now.
Cai Jie, Zhu Cheng, and Meng Jiaming were equally desperate, tears nearly falling. Faced with the food before them, they dared not open their mouths to eat, not even pretending.
The lady said, “Don’t be shy, eat up. If the service is lacking, I’ll punish these girls.”
Everyone: “…”
No, the service is too thorough.
They looked at the eerie Black Blob, cold sweat pouring down their foreheads.
“Is this where the lady’s centennial banquet is being held?”
Suddenly, a woman’s voice echoed from outside. Old Yang saw the hand feeding him finally pause as the female ghosts turned to look at the doorway. He stiffly turned his neck to follow their gaze-a Long-haired Woman stood at the entrance, her face half-hidden by her hair, making it hard to see her features. But at that moment, his heart skipped a beat, filled with unease.
Could she be another ghost? And she looked equally terrifying.
…Wait, she had a shadow? She was human?!
Old Yang was stunned. If she was human, why was she here?
The lady was also surprised by the scene and asked, “Who are you?”
She looked at the Long-haired Woman in confusion. Clearly, she was human, and humans were weak. With a flick of her finger, she could end their lives. Yet, this fearless Long-haired Woman dared to confront her. Wasn’t she afraid of death?
The Long-haired Woman said, “I’m here to join the birthday celebration. I heard it’s your hundredth birthday, so I thought I’d join the fun.”
The lady asked, “How did you know today is my birthday?”
“I only found out after I came in, so I came to congratulate you. Here’s the birthday gift I brought.”
The lady looked puzzled as the Long-haired Woman rummaged through her bag and finally pulled out a thousand-yuan Ghost Money, handing it over with a sincere smile, “Sorry, I came in a hurry and didn’t prepare much, but it’s the thought that counts. Please don’t mind.”
The lady: “…”
The Long-haired Woman found a spot to sit, conveniently next to Old Yang. Her dark eyes glanced at the maid beside Old Yang, who was holding a stone plate in one hand and a Black Blob in the other, trying to feed it to him. She tilted her head and said, “Could I have a plate too? I’m starving after the journey. Thanks, hehe.”
Maid: “…??”
Old Yang: “…!!”
Lady: “…”
Soon, a stone plate was placed in front of the Long-haired Woman. She leaned down to sniff it and said to the maid, “Could you not use your hands? It’s not hygienic. Could you use chopsticks?”
The maid being ordered: “…”
The lady watching: “…”
Old Yang and the others: “…???” What is up with this Long-haired Woman?!
The lady, adhering to the principle of putting guests first, couldn’t refuse the request. She gave a sinister smile and gestured for someone to bring chopsticks. The maid quickly returned with a pair of chopsticks, stiffly using them to pick up the Black Blob and feed it to the Long-haired Woman. She leaned in, sniffed it first, then opened her mouth and took a bite off the chopsticks.
She chewed thoughtfully, as if savoring the taste, making Old Yang and the others’ hair stand on end, their minds nearly exploding!
Hmm, the taste is alright.
She slurped and finished the plate, then said apologetically, “Is there more? I’m not full yet.”
Old Yang and Cai Jie: “…?!!”
Maid: “…”
Lady: “…”
What is up with this eerie Long-haired Woman? She dares to eat ghostly food? Is she not afraid of dying? They were all dumbfounded, even the lady stood up, staring at her with a sinister gaze.
The maid quickly brought another plate of Black Blob, using chopsticks to feed her directly. The service was impeccable, and what should have been a terrifying scene now seemed oddly pleasant and enjoyable?
Old Yang and Cai Jie were dumbstruck. Who is this Long-haired Woman? She can eat this stuff? That’s ghost food, and she’s actually eating it?
And for some reason, after watching the Long-haired Woman eat, they felt the Blob didn’t seem so terrifying anymore?
At this point, not only were Old Yang and Cai Jie shocked, but even the lady and her maids were astonished. This Long-haired Woman was a problem; she had eaten one plate, two plates, and still wanted a third and fourth!
Whoa, is she even human?
Is she actually a bottomless pit?!
