Help! My Alluring Neighbor Isn't Human - Chapter 9
Upon entering the dorm, a musty, rotten smell overwhelmed me. I covered my mouth and turned on my flashlight to examine the surroundings. The scene was well-preserved; books and clothes were scattered, covered in thick dust, yet still recognizable from back in the day.
“Bai Xiaotian, Bai Xiaotian…” I murmured her name. The beds, though old-fashioned, had names attached to them.
Without hesitation, I immediately searched for her bed and quickly found Bai Xiaotian’s name on the upper bunk near the window.
I hurriedly pulled apart the bundled bedding, revealing a foul-smelling, blackened quilt. Besides that, there was a makeup bag-like item. Opening it, I found a mirror, a comb, and half a lipstick, which was still usable.
But inside the makeup bag’s compartment, there was a well-preserved photo. Curious, I pulled it out to take a look-it was a two-person portrait.
Ten years ago, Bai Xiaotian looked pure and sweet, exceptionally beautiful. She was nestled beside a guy who had a blank expression and vacant eyes.
Looking closely, I suddenly realized how much this guy resembled me. The more I looked, the more my scalp tingled-it was practically the same person. I wiped the sweat off my forehead, feeling as though this whole situation was enveloping me like a bizarre loop.
Could it be that I had known Bai Xiaotian ten years ago?
How was that possible?
I had absolutely no recollection!
I felt the answers to all this might have to come from her murderer husband.
I took out my phone and dialed the number directly. The call connected instantly, as if the person on the other end had been waiting for me.
“What exactly is my relationship with Bai Xiaotian? Why is there a photo of us together here?” I blurted out.
The person didn’t address my question but immediately said, “There’s no time to explain now. She’s already found out. You’re in great danger. Quickly, find something she used!”
The urgency in their voice made me ask if the lipstick would work.
They told me to apply it immediately.
I quickly took off my pants and started applying it frantically.
But to my shock, the more I applied, the larger the snake skin spread. It began to grow visibly, and I feared my entire leg would soon turn into a “python.”
I grabbed the phone and shouted, “What kind of lousy advice is this? My life is about to end because of you!”
The person paused, then suddenly said, “Don’t apply it to the wound, apply it to your lips, quick!”
In a life-or-death moment, I didn’t hesitate. I picked up the lipstick and started applying it to my lips using the small mirror.
But halfway through, I heard a soft sigh behind me, and every hair on my body stood on end.
Because in the mirror, I saw a pale face-it was Bai Xiaotian.
