Good Night, Mr. Ghost - Chapter 82
Meng Loudi scratched his head, feeling a rare moment of embarrassment. “Because the hotels outside might not be clean, I thought we should come back here. Don’t worry, I’ve got everything ready!”
“Let’s go.” Jiang Chenyi followed him back to the forty-eighth floor.
They opened the break room in the chairman’s office.
The lighting was dim and suggestive.
Inside, there was a bouquet of red roses, a bottle of red wine, and a pair of wine glasses.
“What do you think?” Mr. Ghost asked eagerly, seeking approval.
“It’s great.” Jiang wrapped his arms around his neck and kissed him without hesitation.
Meng Loudi kicked the door open, carrying him to the bed, and they fell onto it together.
They parted, and Jiang pressed his stomach, saying seriously, “Tonight’s really not possible.”
“No worries.” Mr. Ghost pressed his forehead against Jiang’s, nuzzling him affectionately.
They played around for a while, then Mr. Ghost opened the wine, poured a small amount, and handed it to Jiang.
“Drink a little, it’ll help you sleep better.”
“Okay.”
Then they really sat on the bed, drinking together.
After finishing the wine and taking a bath.
Mr. Ghost was considerate, helping the young man with his bath, trying hard to forget the nonsense in his mind.
They climbed into bed to sleep.
Jiang snuggled into his arms and asked, “Now tell me, what are you up to?”
Mr. Ghost held him close, smiling, “I wanted to go on a date with Chenyi.”
What does a date entail?
Probably just what he did.
Jiang suddenly understood his intentions, feeling amused.
Indeed, today’s unusual behavior had a reason behind it.
He wrapped his arms around Loudi’s waist, his voice filled with laughter, “I really like it, I like everything about today. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Mr. Ghost replied with a smile.
Jiang Chenyi closed his eyes.
How could he be so adorable, so incredibly cute?
Like a loyal dog eager to please him.
Though he’s a snake, how could he be so endearing?
Meng Loudi watched his beloved breathe softly, a satisfied smile on his lips.
Everything was going smoothly.
Chenyi must like him even more now.
Today was truly delightful.
After that, they would occasionally go out shopping, have a date.
And with Jiang’s persistent efforts, Mr. Ghost reluctantly agreed to let Jiang stay at home.
He would just come by occasionally to keep him company.
Because Jiang Chenyi’s comics had received a positive response, but he had to draw them alone. Although the style was charmingly ugly, it still required time and effort.
So, for the sake of their careers, Jiang would try to divert his attention from Meng Loudi.
Focused on his new career, Jiang Chenyi finally realized that the biggest obstacle to his success was Meng Loudi, that dog man!
Always thinking about how to sleep with Jiang, always thinking about how to flirt with Jiang! Never learning!
And Mr. Ghost’s concession was Jiang wearing the jade ring.
The loose jade ring hung on Jiang’s wrist, and from now on, whenever Meng Loudi wasn’t by his side, Jiang had to wear it.
It was their agreement.
December arrived.
The weather turned cold, and Jiang was even less inclined to go out. For some reason, he always felt a chill in his body. It was peculiar. Mr. Ghost thought he was sensitive to the cold and had to compromise.
Mrs. Jiang visited once, bringing Old Jiang along. But when she saw Jiang Chenyi, tears welled up in her eyes. Old Jiang looked at his son and could only sigh. The two of them just cried and sighed. Jiang didn’t ask. Perhaps, there were things he understood better than anyone.
Every day, Mr. Ghost returned home to his adorable partner, along with their silly dog and the little sparrow. Since Jiang Chenyi had declined Meng Loudi’s offer to commute together, he took charge of preparing lunch and dinner for the man, delivered by the little demon. As for breakfast, it was Mr. Ghost who got up early to make it.
The two of them lived harmoniously, as if this could last forever.
The new year was approaching. Ba Lin granted a holiday. Mr. Ghost welcomed his break, allowing him to indulge in time with Jiang Chenyi.
They awoke in the morning light. Mr. Ghost’s body, warmed by winter, was cozy and inviting. Jiang especially loved snuggling up to him.
“Chenyi, let’s go to Chongqing next spring,” Mr. Ghost suggested.
“Hmm? Why the sudden idea?” Jiang Chenyi asked.
Mr. Ghost caressed his cheek. “Didn’t you want to go? I’ll take you to try the hot and sour vermicelli.”
“Let’s talk about it later. Work comes first,” Jiang mumbled, burying his face in Mr. Ghost’s chest.
“…Oh.” Mr. Ghost wasn’t pleased. He had been turned down! What was work anyway? Was it more important than Jiang? Of course not! He made a mental note to remember this!
Childishly, Mr. Ghost nipped at the young man’s neck. Jiang, eyes wide, retaliated with a bite to Mr. Ghost’s chest. Their playful tussle soon had them both fully awake.
Once awake, there was no more lounging in bed. They washed up, had a simple breakfast, and settled on the sofa. Jiang was ready to watch a Korean drama. A horror-thriller, to be precise. Why the sudden interest in Korean dramas? Well, for two reasons: one, they supposedly reflect human nature; and two, it featured two male leads with a hint of bromance, and they were quite handsome.
So Mr. Ghost accompanied his beloved through three hours of Korean drama. Then they had lunch. Then another four hours of drama. Then dinner. They returned to the sofa.
Mr. Ghost watched his engrossed partner, feeling a tiny bit unhappy. What was so captivating, making Jiang laugh like that? That guy wasn’t even better looking than him! Could it be that Chenyi liked that kind of twisted vibe? He was like that too, just hidden for a long time. He wondered if he could reveal it now.
Mr. Ghost pondered but felt he couldn’t do it. He had gotten used to acting pure, innocent, and harmless in front of Jiang Chenyi. Showing his cold, twisted side now was truly a challenge. Sigh.
Jiang Chenyi watched intently, clutching Mr. Ghost’s arm and exclaimed, “Ahhh! The male lead finally went crazy! Oh heavens!”
Meng Loudi patted his head, “What’s wrong?”
“Didn’t you see? The protagonist started off as a normal person! He was driven to this by society and the people around him!” Jiang looked heartbroken.
Mr. Ghost kept a straight face, “That’s because he wasn’t strong enough.”
Jiang’s expression turned numb, “…”
No normal person could endure that!
Dog man!
Sensing the anger from the person beside him, Mr. Ghost rubbed his nose and said, “That’s just how it is. What’s so interesting about it? Chenyi, you haven’t looked at me all day.”
Jiang Chenyi understood.
Jiang smiled.
He leaned on the man’s knee, watching the TV screen, “Oh dear, Mr. Jealous, are you jealous?”
“Yes.” Mr. Jealous nodded.
Jiang watched the final episode, “Then keep being jealous. I’m almost done.”
Meng Loudi: “…”
Crying, Chenyi doesn’t love him anymore.
Chenyi doesn’t like him anymore; Chenyi has been charmed away by the little demon on TV.
Noted.
Hmph!
Then Jiang Chenyi finished the last episode, resting his head on the man’s thigh, smacking his lips, still wanting more.
“Loudi, did you understand the last episode? What does it mean? Is the dentist still alive? He is, right? When will the second season come out? It must be good.”
“Hmph.” Mr. Ghost snorted with a noble disdain.
Jiang Chenyi sat up, hands on either side of Meng Loudi’s legs, eyes wide open as he leaned in.
His brown eyes were clear and bright.
Even though he was almost twenty-eight, he still looked like a young man in his prime.
Mr. Ghost was momentarily dazed.
He wondered what his eyes looked like in Chenyi’s view.
In Jiang Chenyi’s eyes, the other’s dark eyes were like a deep ancient well, a silent abyss, a calm deep sea.
Profound and unfathomable, with a hint of innocence.
So adorable.
“Alright, I’ve finished the drama. What should we do next?” Jiang’s lips curled into a bright, dazzling smile, “From now on, my time is all yours, Mr. Ghost, except for going to bed.”
Mr. Ghost chuckled softly, “Let’s play some games. It’s been a while since we played together.”
“Okay.” Jiang got up, “I’ll go get some snacks.”
He ran to the kitchen, opened the pantry, pulled out a big bottle of juice, and grabbed a bunch of chips, cookies, and other snacks.
Meng Jiang sat beside him, tilting his head to watch his actions.
Jiang took out a cloth bag, stuffed the chips and such inside, and handed it to Meng Jiang, “Good doggy, help daddy carry this later~”
Having a kid to boss around was great.
Then Jiang carried the big bottle of juice, holding a bag of donuts, and went upstairs with Mr. Ghost.
Meng Loudi reached out and took the juice.
They walked upstairs with smiles, Meng Jiang holding the bag, the little sparrow perched on his head, watching them.
Ahhh, this must be the private life of Mr. Chief and madam! So curious!
What an amazing little sparrow, able to cling to these two’s legs!
As for the silly dog?
Probably needs a few more decades to rely on them.
Jiang and Mr. Ghost entered the entertainment room, and Meng Jiang and the little sparrow sensibly settled to the side as spectators.
The two started playing games, Jiang pressing the controller while saying, “Can I take it off? It’s getting in the way.”
“Up to you, since I’m here, you don’t need it anymore.” Mr. Ghost said with a smile.
They played for two hours, and it was almost ten o’clock.
Meng Loudi put down the controller, “We should go to bed.”
“Okay.” Jiang yawned, his tongue curling inside his mouth, barely visible.
Meng Loudi’s eyes darkened at the sight of that red tongue, and he picked him up and carried him away.
Meng Jiang wagged his tail, watching them leave.
Can Meng Jiang sleep here tonight?
The cushion looks so soft.
Jiang hooked his arms around Mr. Ghost’s neck, yawning again, “Sleep?”
“Yes, sleep.” Meng Loudi affectionately kissed his cheek.
“Just sleep?” Jiang confirmed again.
Mr. Ghost nodded, “It feels better in the morning.”
Jiang: “…”
Well, it’s a holiday, so he can’t really say anything, right?
They quickly washed up and went to bed.
“Goodnight, Niang Zi.” This time, Mr. Ghost spoke first.
Jiang chuckled, “Goodnight, husband.”
What kind of nonsense is this?
But it’s so happy?
Love really does lower one’s IQ.
Oh well, let it lower then.
