Game Master: Infinite Amplification of Everything - Chapter 49 - Aftermath
Chen Fei woke up.
But not fully awake.
“I’m completely out of energy… so tired… feels like my body has been hollowed out…”
Chen Fei lay on the ground.
His eyes devoid of any intention to remember.
Just a short while ago.
Four hours of non-stop piston motion.
It had exhausted him tremendously.
Ordinarily, this would have been nothing for him, with his Level 75 body; he wouldn’t back down or feel weak.
Even several days and nights in a row wouldn’t usually be a problem.
But this time.
It was different.
It was the Mysterious Moon Divine Venerable.
During the activity, Mysterious Moon took the dominant position.
Chen Fei had no chance to resist.
He could only watch helplessly as his body kept weakening.
Continuously drained by Mysterious Moon…
Nothing left.
Really, not a drop left…
“Mama, are you okay?”
“You didn’t look very comfortable just now… How did you become so weak all of a sudden?”
Qing didn’t understand.
Earlier, during their activity, Chen Fei seemed quite happy.
There were no signs of distress.
But now, after it stopped, and that woman had left.
Chen Fei seemed to be in a lot of pain…
At that moment.
Qing suddenly remembered.
She thought of a story from a comic book.
Could it be like the female protagonist in the comic book who says she doesn’t want to do it, but her body tells the truth?
Despite not wanting to, she was forced.
Yet her body was very honest.
“Time is almost up… Thankfully, she let those women go, allowing me to complete the quest, otherwise, it would have been a huge loss.”
Chen Fei lay on the ground, speaking weakly.
Midway through the activity.
Chen Fei had directly asked her to let those women go.
She agreed.
Thus, Chen Fei was able to complete the quest straight away.
Otherwise.
If the quest hadn’t been completed, he would have been in real trouble.
That would have been a massive loss indeed.
“Mama, what time did you mention? Are we going back now? Great, I can watch comics again… no, I mean TV shows~”
Qing quickly covered her mouth, her small eyes sneaking a glance at Chen Fei.
Seeing Chen Fei still so exhausted.
She took a deep breath.
Thank goodness.
Thank goodness he didn’t hear what I said.
Otherwise, there definitely wouldn’t be any comic books…
But, is doing that really so comfortable?
Qing thought about the scene between Chen Fei and Mysterious Moon.
Her little head filled with their voices…
“Alright, we can go now.”
Chen Fei struggled to his feet, then exited the game.
At the same time, he brought Qing back to the real world.
…
Lying in the game pod.
Chen Fei opened his eyes.
Then, he opened the pod door.
With trembling legs, he stepped out.
Damn, still a bit unaccustomed.
After all, doing that kind of thing for too long in the game, it kind of messed with his brain’s reactions.
Chen Fei shook his head, releasing Qing from his thoughts.
“Yay, we’re back here!” Qing exclaimed, wasting no time as she hopped onto the floor. Her eyes were fixed on the comic books under the bed, barely able to contain her excitement.
Unfortunately for her, Chen Fei had already noticed. Determined to keep Qing from becoming a little rascal, he decided to distance her from these inappropriate comics. So, he took out all the comic books from under the bed and, right in front of Qing, dunked them into water.
Chen Fei didn’t feel too bad about it now. Although many of them were his favorites and even collector’s editions, he’d already read them all and memorized them. Plus, it was for Qing’s growth. He had no choice but to soak them.
“No! My comic books…” Qing wailed in despair. “I didn’t finish reading them last night… I still don’t know what the last pose was… Mama, you’re so mean…”
Chen Fei: …
“I’m doing this for your own good. You can watch TV or play on the computer, but no more of these comics!” Chen Fei said, preparing to take a shower and then head out to buy some groceries to stock the fridge. The snacks and drinks he had bought with Lin Mumu were already gone.
…
A while later, Chen Fei finished everything and lay on the bed, opening his laptop to check the latest news.
“Two days ago, a mentally ill person who killed twenty people died unexpectedly in prison? Rumors say it’s the work of a killer organization!”
“Also two days ago, the chairman of Tianhai Real Estate in H City, Xiong San, died unexpectedly! Is this a coincidence or…”
“Shocking! The killer maniac was killed?”
“A popular starlet is actually being kept by this man…”
“Two consecutive murders, is this really H City?!”
…
Many news headlines appeared. Chen Fei clicked through them one by one, finding nothing worth reading. Most of them were speculative. After all, these incidents hadn’t been concluded yet; they had just happened. How could the media know the details so soon? They were just clickbait videos by marketing accounts.
But one thing was consistent: the comments section.
Most comments were filled with intense anger.
“Xiong San deserved to die! You don’t know, this guy was a complete scourge. Forcing people to relocate, only paying half the compensation. This guy was a beast!”
“That mentally ill person deserved to die! Killing twenty people, should we wait to give him a peaceful retirement? Come on, killing deserves punishment, it’s only right. We can’t let him off just because of mental issues! I think he deserved it!”
“He’s just a mentally ill person, doesn’t know anything. Maybe he has multiple personalities? Can you guarantee the killer was his main personality?”
“Oh my, the light of Buddha shines upon the earth! Today, I see a saintly figure in the comments! I just want to ask this saint, if your family were hacked to death, would you still say this? Would you let him off because he’s mentally ill?”
“Why! Why! That ugly Xiong San, why did he keep her? I can’t accept it! I spent my monthly salary supporting her, and she sleeps with another man, why!”
“Stay strong, it’s just a woman! You can support other stars! My idol is great, we welcome you!”
“Get lost! Who wants to support a sissy? I’m just upset that the one sleeping with the goddess isn’t me! Why is it Xiong San! Damn, Xiong San deserved to die!”
“Guys, guys! I feel like there’s something fishy about Xiong San’s death. Think about it, if Xiong San died, who benefits the most? I think it’s all a conspiracy!”
…
Chen Fei finished reading without any emotional reaction.
