After about three hours, with Qing’s full speed, Chen Fei finally reached a town.

This town is the closest to Longshou Mountain, with levels ranging from Level 20 to Level 50.

Chen Fei entered the town. In his previous life, although he had visited this town, he never took it seriously or learned much about it. After all, he was coerced into coming here back then.

“Mama, what are we doing here?” Qing asked, a bit puzzled.

Chen Fei felt a twinge of exasperation. He decided he’d better hide those comics when they got back. Qing was just a little fox, only a few days old, and she was already like this. That wouldn’t do.

He shook his head, placed Qing on his shoulder, and walked into Qingmu Town. As soon as he entered, he could feel a sense of desolation in the air. Walking down the street, something felt off, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.

As he continued to walk, the passersby began to look at him with surprise. They glanced at Chen Fei, seemingly unable to sense his strength, and eventually looked away.

Chen Fei found it odd. These people were strange. He checked the map again, and it indeed said Qingmu Town. He hadn’t taken a wrong turn. So what was happening here? With this thought, a smile appeared on Chen Fei’s face. This meant there would be a quest, and it would come with special rewards, likely quite generous.

He approached a passerby and asked, “Hello, I’m Li Xiaoyao, a knight from the Laien Empire’s capital. I want to know what’s happening here. It seems quite eerie. Maybe I can help.”

The man stopped and looked at Chen Fei. Initially, he had noticed Chen Fei but couldn’t sense any cultivation from him, which usually meant he was weak. As for being a strong cultivator? This is why Chen Fei claimed to be a knight from the capital of the Laien Empire.

Everyone stopped and looked at Chen Fei, their eyes filled with surprise and joy. At last, a strong figure had arrived!

People gathered around, then knelt down, expressions of distress on their faces. A middle-aged man stepped forward, looking at Chen Fei as if he were their beacon of hope.

“Please, Master Knight, save our entire Qingmu Town!”

The crowd’s fervent pleas left Chen Fei bewildered. He asked, “What exactly happened? Tell me, and perhaps I can help you.”

The middle-aged man responded, “I am the mayor of Qingmu Town. Let me explain.”

“Master, here’s what happened.”

“Three months ago, a shocking event occurred here. At one end of Qingmu Town, a massive holographic screen appeared. Initially, we thought it was nothing, perhaps even a stroke of luck!”

“But what happened next was beyond our imagination!”

“From the holographic screen emerged a woman wielding a staff, incredibly powerful. With just a wave of her hand, we were defeated, unable to put up any resistance.”

“After our defeat, she didn’t kill us. Instead, she took all the women from Qingmu Town… and led them into that holographic screen.”

“Since then, all the men in Qingmu Town have been left without wives or daughters…”

After hearing the mayor’s account, Chen Fei felt a deep sense of sadness. At least, that’s how he perceived it.

It dawned on Chen Fei why the town felt off when he first arrived. There were no women! From the moment he entered until now, he hadn’t encountered a single woman. That was the oddity!

So, Chen Fei asked, “If that’s the case, why didn’t you contact Donglin City, which is the nearest? Ask for their help.”

Although there’s some distance between here and Donglin City, it’s not particularly dangerous. There’s an official road!

That’s how Chen Fei managed to reach here in just a few hours riding Qing. The area around the official road is free of monsters. It’s quite safe.
