For Your Happiness - Chapter 53 - Another Gift for Me
Wu Di took Shao Han shopping, and he insisted on buying anything she touched. If she tried on something, he bought it. If she paused to look at something, he paid for it immediately. Shao Han felt something was off.
“Hey, what are you doing? I’m just looking,” Shao Han said, pulling him out of the mall to a quieter spot.
“If you like it, we should buy it.”
“But I’m just looking, not necessarily buying.”
“You look because you like it, and I don’t want you to worry about money.”
“Ugh, I still want to compare.”
“Oh, women are so complicated. If you like it, you should buy it. Why compare anything else? The price? I don’t care about that,” Wu Di didn’t understand.
“It’s not that. Maybe I’ll find something I like more. If we buy like you suggest, how much money would that cost?” Shao Han chided him.
“Money? We can always make more. As long as you like it, we should buy it.” Wu Di didn’t want Shao Han to keep comparing. He wanted her to have whatever she wanted, like a princess or a queen.
“We have lots of plans, and we can’t just waste money,” Shao Han feigned anger.
“Oh.” Wu Di’s tone softened. “I don’t want you to feel deprived.”
“I know, and where have I been deprived? We’re so happy now, free to do what we want. Do I need to be decked out in gold? You know I don’t like that.”
“I just don’t want you to feel deprived,” Wu Di wished he could give her the world.
“Being together is the greatest happiness. Why fret about anything else?” Shao Han said earnestly.
“Yeah, having you is enough,” Wu Di said tenderly, reaching to caress her face.
Under the dim moonlight, she looked even more charming and alluring. Wu Di leaned in closer, drawn to kiss her.
“Hey, we’re on the street,” Shao Han chuckled.
“You always laugh at the crucial moment,” Wu Di pouted, looking adorably upset.
“Alright, I’m hungry. Let’s go eat,” Shao Han smiled.
“Okay, we’ll eat first, then I’ll ‘eat’ you,” Wu Di took a deep breath, freeing himself from his earlier sentimentality.
“Ha, consider it your second birthday gift.”
“My gift? Why don’t you say it’s a Wedding Anniversary gift I’m giving you? Why is it you giving me?”
“Ah? But you’re the one who wants to ‘eat’ me.”
“But you enjoy it too, right? I’m putting in a lot of effort here, so isn’t it you who should be receiving the gift?”
“Ah?? You… you…”
“I’m the one to be pitied, having to work so hard even on my birthday. Oh well, for you, I guess I’ll just have to make the sacrifice.” Wu Di said with a mischievous grin.
“Ha! You big bully.” Shao Han knew she couldn’t outtalk him.
“Ah? Making me work so hard and still calling me a bully?”
“Ah!” Shao Han went to hit him, but Wu Di laughed heartily, enveloping her tightly in his broad arms, making it impossible for her to wriggle free.
“Surrender, babe?” Wu Di whispered in her ear, sending a tingle down her spine, making her feel weak and light.
“Give me another gift tonight,” Wu Di continued softly.
“What?” Shao Han pursed her lips and looked down with a smile, aware of the occasional passerby watching the intimate couple, feeling a bit embarrassed.
“Tonight… give me a baby,” Wu Di requested.
Although Shao Han always had a shadow in her heart about this topic, appearing only superficially relaxed, each mention usually cast a small cloud over her. But today, she didn’t feel it; she was too happy. She wanted to have his baby, their baby.
“Mhm,” Shao Han murmured softly in agreement. Wu Di heard her, and inhaled deeply, taking in the faint fragrance of her body. What could be sweeter than this?
After a delicious dinner by the beautiful lakeside, the couple walked hand in hand, talking and loving under the cool breeze. Whenever a chill wind blew, Wu Di would considerately pull her into his embrace, shielding her with his body. Shao Han nestled into his broad chest, feeling the warmth and love.
Recently, Wu Di had been very busy, and with Shao Han’s mother being sick, it had been a long time since they had a relaxed chat like this. Back at the hotel, Wu Di ordered some fine wine to celebrate their first anniversary.
When Shao Han came out from her shower, she saw the wine already poured and frowned slightly.
“Wu Di,” Shao Han approached him. “We can’t drink today.”
“Why?” Wu Di felt the ambiance was perfect, so why did Shao Han say they couldn’t drink?
Shao Han wrapped her arms around his waist. “Have you forgotten what gift you asked for?”
“Me?” Wu Di’s eyes widened in confusion, then he quickly remembered something. “Ah, right. It seems I’m not supposed to drink alcohol.”
Shao Han laughed heartily.
“But… maybe a little bit would make him more energetic?” Wu Di’s childish side peeked out again.
Shao Han really wanted to laugh, but she held it back, frowning and shaking her head with a bittersweet smile as she looked at him.
Wu Di looked at her: “Really? Can’t drink?” He asked, still not giving up, because he felt that a little bit of alcohol could make her even more charming and enchanting, which would make their intimate moments even more exhilarating.
“Alright. For the sake of having healthy sperm,” Wu Di said reluctantly, putting down his glass.
“Mm, for our child, make this sacrifice,” Shao Han teased him about his fondness for drinking.
“Hey, if he turns out to be naughty, I’ll definitely spank him as revenge.”
“Ha ha, you villain.”
“So… here I come…” Wu Di said as he rolled with Shao Han onto the bed, looking deeply into her eyes, “Shao Han, I love you.”
“Hehe, I love you too.”
The room fell silent, with only…
