For Your Happiness - Chapter 39 - Wang Chufan’s Confession
“It’s getting late, I should head back; Wu Di will be worried,” Shao Han said, feeling uncomfortable under Wang Chufan’s intense gaze.
“Oh, time flies.”
“That’s how it is with shopping, looking here and there, time just flies by.”
“No, it’s being with you,” Wang Chufan said in a low voice.
“Cough. Cough.” Shao Han coughed awkwardly upon hearing this.
“I’ve met many women, yet I feel very different about you,” Wang Chufan didn’t want to stop.
“Mr. Wang, you flatter me too much, let’s head back,” Shao Han interrupted him again.
“I’m returning to Beijing tomorrow; can’t you let me finish what I’m saying?”
“This…” Shao Han didn’t know how to stop him.
“From the first moment I saw you, I was attracted to you. I’m not a young man anymore and maybe it’s funny for me to say this, but it’s true. Everything was arranged just to see you more.”
“Mr. Wang, please stop, thank you for your kindness, but I have a husband, and you know Wu Di; we love each other very much, and it wasn’t easy for us to be together. We cherish each other,” Shao Han said earnestly.
“I know, you might not like me, but that can’t stop my admiration and love for you.”
“Please don’t talk like that.”
“Can it be like this? You might not like me, but I will silently care for you and love you from afar,” Wang Chufan said more passionately.
Shao Han became flustered. “Mr. Wang, please don’t say that, it’s not right.”
“You can still love Wu Di and have a good life with him; I just want to watch you be happy from a distance.”
“It’s very late, I need to go back,” Shao Han didn’t want to continue this conversation and turned toward the gate, but as she took a step, Wang Chufan grabbed her hand, startling her, and she jerked her hand back as if electrocuted.
“I’m sorry, that was rude of me, but I couldn’t help myself.”
Shao Han looked at him, said nothing, and walked straight out the gate. Xu Zhuo saw everything, but seeing that Wang Chufan made no further move, he did not step forward to intervene.
Wang Chufan looked at Shao Han’s retreating figure with a touch of sadness. “Shao Han, let me give you a ride home.”
“No need, I can easily take a taxi,” Shao Han replied loudly without turning around.
Wang Chufan didn’t know if this meant he had lost all hope, but he knew that at least for the short term, Shao Han wouldn’t forget him. That was enough. He would think of other ways. As long as he could stir even a slight ripple in her heart.
Shao Han’s heart raced, not because of the man’s declaration of love, but more so because of her own guilt, as if she had somehow betrayed Wu Di.
She took out her phone and dialed, “Hello, Wu Di, where are you?”
“I’m at Starbucks. My leg is bothering me, Xu Zhuo told me to stay put. He’s near you, what’s happened?” Wu Di asked.
“Ah? Is that so?” Shao Han wondered if Xu Zhuo had witnessed the scene too. “Oh, I’m at the main entrance. I’ve just picked out a gift for Mr. Wang, and I’m about to head home.”
“Oh, then I’ll come to you. Which entrance are you at?”
“No, no, I’ll come to Starbucks. It’s hard for you to walk,” Shao Han quickly responded.
“That’s fine.”
“Mm.” After hanging up, Shao Han headed towards Starbucks.
As she approached the cafe, she ran into Xu Zhuo at the door, her expression awkward. “You… you saw everything?”
“Mm,” Xu Zhuo nodded.
“I… didn’t expect that.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t tell Wu-Ge,” Xu Zhuo assured her, knowing Shao Han was worried about Wu Di finding out.
“I made it very clear to him,” Shao Han seemed to be explaining.
“I believe you,” Xu Zhuo said, not wanting Shao Han to feel burdened. He still believed in her love for Wu Di.
“Thank you.” Shao Han appreciated Xu Zhuo’s trust. She felt their love shouldn’t suffer any harm; she didn’t want Wu Di to misunderstand her.
After a brief conversation with Xu Zhuo, Shao Han entered Starbucks and saw Wu Di deep in thought.
“Wu Di,” she called out softly.
“Oh, you both came,” Wu Di looked up at Shao Han.
“Let’s go home,” Shao Han said, helping Wu Di to stand.
“Mm.”
Xu Zhuo had been silent the whole time, observing the profound love between Shao Han and Wu Di, which was so deep that words were unnecessary to feel the care they had for each other. On the way home, the three of them remained silent, creating an odd atmosphere. When they arrived at Shao Han and Wu Di’s home, Shao Han thanked Xu Zhuo and then helped Wu Di out of the car.
“Get some rest soon,” Xu Zhuo said as he watched them get out of the car, a phrase that seemed out of character for him, especially today, as he usually carried a carefree demeanor.
Once inside, Shao Han asked Wu Di, “Are you tired from walking so much today?”
“It’s okay.”
“You shouldn’t overexert yourself like that; you really shouldn’t have walked so much today,” Shao Han said tenderly, her voice full of concern.
“It doesn’t matter.”
“What do you mean, it doesn’t matter? What does matter then?” Shao Han asked, looking up at him, slightly annoyed.
“You,” Wu Di replied firmly, his captivating gaze fixed on her as if he hadn’t seen her all day, greedily taking her in.
“I’m fine,” Shao Han said, a bit guiltily, looking down.
“Look at me,” Wu Di commanded.
Shao Han didn’t meet his gaze and began unbuttoning his shirt to help him change into more comfortable home clothes. Wu Di lifted her chin with his hand, just as a tear the size of a bean fell from Shao Han’s eyes.
“What’s wrong?” Wu Di asked, alarmed.
“It’s nothing,” Shao Han murmured as a second and then a third tear followed, the pearls of her tears continuously falling.
This alarmed Wu Di, “Babe, what’s wrong?”
“It’s really nothing.”
“How can you expect me to believe that you’re fine looking like this?” Wu Di said, annoyed.
“What do I need to do to make you believe?” Shao Han asked, her eyes brimming with unshed tears, making Wu Di’s heart ache.
No further questions were needed as Wu Di kissed her lips passionately, holding the woman he loved tightly in his arms. He embraced her firmly, deeply kissing her, savoring her essence.
“I’m sorry, babe,” Wu Di murmured between kisses. “I miss you so much.”
“I know,” Shao Han replied, her tears still flowing.
“I don’t want anyone to take you away from me,” Wu Di said, his eyes moistening.
“Never, never will it happen.”
“I’m scared.”
“I love you.”
Wu Di could no longer contain his emotions, his hands caressing with increasing intensity. His breathing grew rapid. “Shao Han, I want you.”
“Mmm, I want you too.”
Shao Han’s words seemed to inject Wu Di with a stimulant, unleashing all the pent-up passion of the last month. Fearing the strain of standing might be too much for Wu Di’s legs, Shao Han gently pushed him, guiding him to sit on the sofa. Wu Di lifted Shao Han onto him and began to kiss her neck and chest, removing her dress.
“My God,” Wu Di moaned. “Are you trying to kill me?”
“Huh?” Shao Han blushed even more, her face flushing red. “Stop it.” As soon as she spoke, Wu Di kissed her again.
Although Shao Han was not an expert in these matters, her heart ached for Wu Di knowing he was injured. She awkwardly took the initiative to lessen the strain on him, worried that his excitement might aggravate his knee injury.
“Oh, babe, when did you learn this?” Wu Di teased her intermittently, a satisfied, proud, and excited smile on his face.
“I… I didn’t learn,” Shao Han murmured shyly, savoring the sensation that only comes with the man she loves.
“Is it okay?” Shao Han asked considerately, aware that her attempts were far from perfect.
“Good,” Wu Di replied, stirred beyond control by the little woman on top of him. “It’s wonderful.” What followed was an increasingly miraculous feeling as both reached their climax together.
Shao Han let out soft moans, resting her head on his shoulder, holding him tightly, her body trembling slightly. Wu Di knew she must be savoring the most exhilarating moment as she slowly recovered. He held her close, kissing her tender skin.
Still a bit shy, Shao Han kept her face on his shoulder, not daring to look at Wu Di. Knowing she had regained her composure, Wu Di wanted to gently push her away to see her face, but she clung tighter. He laughed, holding her closely. “You’ve grown up.”
“Huh?”
“You’ve become amazing,” Wu Di couldn’t help but laugh.
“Ugh, annoying.” Shao Han felt that Wu Di was laughing at her. She was even more embarrassed now, as this time it was truly her initiative. However, it was all to prevent his legs from straining, so she let go of her reserve and pride.
“I did it for your legs,” Shao Han said shyly.
“Then my legs better not get better too quickly,” Wu Di laughed even more.
“Are you mocking me? You meanie,” Shao Han flared up, yet she didn’t let Wu Di see her face, just held him close to her.
“Not at all. It’s just too wonderful, I’ve become greedy.”
“You just know how to save your energy,” Shao Han said bashfully, but her curiosity got the better of her, and she asked, “Really, is it good? How does it feel?”
“Good, very good,” Wu Di deeply kissed her shoulder and continued with his eyes closed, speaking contentedly.
“However,” Wu Di suddenly said, “it seems like we’ve dirtied the sofa.”
“Ah?” Shao Han blushed even more. “Don’t say that, please stop.”
“Ha ha.” Wu Di laughed as he embraced her, gently stroking her back. “But when will you get off me?”
“Hmph, annoying,” Shao Han finally let him go. She looked at his face and lightly kissed his forehead. “Close your eyes, I’m getting up.”
“Close my eyes? I’ve seen you like this over eight hundred times, and I still need to close my eyes?” Wu Di’s eyes widened in astonishment.
“Ah, yes, even if it’s eight thousand times, I still will,” Shao Han pouted.
“Hey, you… just when you start being fierce? Woowoo,” Wu Di began his act of playing the damsel in distress.
“Dizzy, I give up on you, I’m going to take a shower.” Shao Han said as she casually grabbed the clothes she had just taken off to cover herself, and dashed into the bathroom. She left Wu Di alone sitting there, leaning on the sofa, reminiscing about the scene and secretly snickering for a while. Suddenly, he got up: “Here I come,” he said as he headed toward the bathroom.
Warmth, laughter, and playful scolding filled the entire bathroom.
