Dream Dance Gracefully - Chapter 75 - Wan'er's Choice
Zhang Wan’er ran over and embraced Lin Yiyi.
At that moment, Lin Yiyi was covered in bright red blood, looking like a blooming flower.
On the other side, Chen Tianqi lay on the ground, unconscious.
After hitting the person, the car immediately fled the scene.
Zhang Wan’er first called for an ambulance, then contacted Yang Xue and Chen Hui.
It wasn’t long before both Chen Tianqi and Lin Yiyi were taken to the hospital. During this time, Chen Hui and the others also arrived at the hospital-after all, life was the most important thing.
Chen Tianqi was still in a coma, while Lin Yiyi was taken into the emergency room. Lin Lei, Lin Qingyun, and Lin Qingtian also came.
Chen Tianqi was placed in a separate room.
“Wan’er? Can you explain what happened? It’s not your fault!” Chen Hui’s face looked grim; Chen Tianqi had another accident at such a critical moment, and now Lin Yiyi was also involved.
Zhang Wan’er recounted the situation, and after finishing, she realized that the car could have avoided hitting Chen Tianqi, but it had rammed right into him. This suggested it was a conspiracy and a setup!
“It’s definitely a conspiracy!” Chen Tianyou said angrily. “Maybe they knew Chen Tianqi wasn’t dead and are trying to frame him again!”
“Yeah, but we have no evidence! Alright, let’s stop discussing this; you all go look for evidence. Wan’er and I can handle things here,” Chen Hui waved his hand.
Chen Tianyou thought for a moment; even though Chen Tianqi was still unconscious, there was nothing more to be done here. Besides, many people were busy in the hospital, so after saying a few words, he left.
As for Lin Yiyi, she was being looked after by Lin Lei and the others, so there wasn’t much to worry about.
Lin Lei also left, leaving only Lin Qingyun and Lin Qingtian waiting outside the emergency room.
Given how things had escalated, waiting any longer seemed meaningless. The doctors had already said that they were out of life-threatening danger!
Overall, this grudge had to be settled!
After half an hour, Xu Meng, Li Shaofei, He Tao, and others arrived. What more was there to say? Some were pacing anxiously, while others sat in silence, not knowing what to do.
Everyone was filled with regret, yet felt helpless!
After a long silence, Chen Tianqi groaned on the bed, and then everyone saw him clutching his head as he sat up.
Zhang Wan’er had been sitting by the bed, waiting for Chen Tianqi to wake up, and she immediately reached out to support his back.
“Tianqi, how do you feel?”
“Ah… um…” After calling out a couple of times, Chen Tianqi quickly regained his composure. He looked around at the people in the room, and then suddenly, as if he had lost his sanity, he tried to get out of bed, shouting, “Yiyi, Yiyi, how is she?”
Upon hearing these words, everyone realized that Chen Tianqi had awakened, understood many things, and was no longer the child he used to be.
Chen Hui smiled, and everyone else joined in. Zhang Wan’er quickly grabbed hold of Chen Tianqi, afraid he might fall out of bed.
“Wan’er? I know what’s going on. Tell me, where is Yiyi? How is she?” By the end, Chen Tianqi was almost shouting.
When Chen Tianqi was nearly hit by the car, Lin Yiyi had pushed him away, causing him to crash against the wall. At that moment, due to the heavy impact, he experienced temporary memory loss. After that, all the memories of the time rushed back into his mind, and his brain couldn’t handle it, causing him to faint. Just before passing out, all he saw was the scene of Lin Yiyi being struck by the car. The panic overwhelmed him, and he collapsed.
When he woke up and didn’t see Lin Yiyi, he began searching for her.
“Yiyi is fine; she’s out of life-threatening danger, and everything else is alright. She’s still in the emergency room…” Zhang Wan’er knew that if she didn’t tell Chen Tianqi, he would definitely run out of the room, refusing to stay inside. But she continued, “Tianqi, please don’t get too worked up; Yiyi will be okay.”
As she spoke, the others felt a heaviness in their hearts. Chen Tianqi had recovered, but Lin Yiyi was still in trouble.
“No, I need to see her! I want to see her! Wan’er, I know you’ll take me to her, right? Please take me…” In the end, Chen Tianqi’s plea sounded almost desperate, and his anger transformed into helplessness.
Zhang Wan’er didn’t know what to do, so she looked at Chen Hui. At this point, she had to seek his help; after all, what role did she play here? A friend? A lover? Or just an outsider?
She felt like an outsider, completely out of place. She had worked beside Yang Xue because of Chen Tianqi, had slept in Chen Tianqi’s home, and it was Chen Tianqi who had stirred her feelings. But now, Chen Tianqi and Lin Yiyi seemed so well matched, a perfect match based on family background. Here she was, harboring feelings for him. What a complicated situation! In that moment, Zhang Wan’er felt as if her world had grown lonely.
“Tianqi, sit back down,” Chen Hui scolded. “You don’t have to worry about Yiyi; Uncle Lin is over there keeping an eye on things.”
Despite Chen Tianqi’s reluctance to listen to anyone else, he still respected Chen Hui’s words and sat back down.
Zhang Wan’er let out a self-deprecating laugh. “Tianqi, you’re awake, so I guess I should get back to the company.” She smiled as she turned to Chen Hui, “Uncle Chen, if there’s nothing for me to do here, I’ll head back to the company!”
Anyone present could hear the implications in her words, but what could they say to persuade her otherwise? Having said that, Zhang Wan’er stood up.
Chen Tianqi fell silent. After a moment’s thought, Chen Hui said, “Alright, then you can head back to the company. We’ll let you know if anything comes up!”
Zhang Wan’er turned to leave, reminding Chen Tianqi to take care of himself.
Chen Tianqi opened his mouth to say something but didn’t manage to voice it, perhaps because his throat was dry.
Seeing this, Xu Meng immediately rushed after Zhang Wan’er. She understood what kind of person Zhang Wan’er was and was aware of her circumstances. Zhang Wan’er felt lost and alone; she likely hadn’t heard from her parents in a long time, leaving her with no support. Xu Meng knew that even though Zhang Wan’er wouldn’t consider anything drastic, she was at a point where she might quit her job and leave-leave this place, this… place full of longing!
This was the path Zhang Wan’er had chosen, a road with no turning back. Once she walked away, she wouldn’t come back again.
