Dream Dance Gracefully - Chapter 71 - I Will Always Take Care of You
Zhang Wan’er quickly prepared a meal and brought it into the room, placing it in front of Chen Tianqi.
Chen Tianqi’s eyes looked a bit vacant and hollow, his head bobbing slightly.
As soon as he saw the food, Chen Tianqi sat up in bed, reached out his hands, and began eating with big bites, like a child who hadn’t yet learned to use chopsticks.
Seeing this, Zhang Wan’er rushed over to stop him from eating with his hands.
“I… eat… eat…” When Chen Tianqi saw his food taken away, he pouted and plopped down on the floor, crying loudly.
Zhang Wan’er was taken aback by this scene and didn’t know what to do. After a moment’s thought, she concluded that it was because Chen Tianqi had lost his memory, or perhaps his intellect had regressed to that of a three-year-old child. The most important thing was that Chen Tianqi was alive and awake again. Holding back the tears in her eyes, she silently put the food back on the table.
Once Chen Tianqi saw the food returned to him, he raised his arms to wipe his face randomly and stopped crying. He stood up and sat on the bench, grabbing the food with his hands and stuffing it into his mouth, fearing that the person next to him would take his food away again at any moment.
Watching all this, Zhang Wan’er felt a deep pain in her heart. She couldn’t forgive herself; it was all her fault. If she hadn’t been involved, Chen Tianqi wouldn’t be like this. After thinking for a moment, she called Yang Xue and the others to inform them of the situation. Chen Hui answered the phone and said he would bring a doctor to check on Chen Tianqi that evening.
Zhang Wan’er looked at Chen Tianqi eating, his hair messy and grains of rice stuck to his face. She didn’t find it funny at all but felt deep remorse for him.
“Cough, cough…” Chen Tianqi choked as he ate too quickly, not having drunk any water since waking up, and the dry food got stuck.
Zhang Wan’er quickly got up to fetch some water.
“Tianqi, Tianqi, here comes the water, drink it quickly.”
Chen Tianqi took the water and gulped it down. Meanwhile, Zhang Wan’er was gently patting his back to help him breathe easier.
Seeing this, Zhang Wan’er couldn’t hold back any longer; tears fell from her eyes to the ground, though she remained silent.
The two of them sat down, and Chen Tianqi gradually slowed his eating. When he looked up and saw the sister who had taken his food crying, he didn’t understand what was happening. After all, from the perspective of a child, it was normal to be oblivious. However, deep down, he felt very unwilling to see the big sister in front of him crying.
“Big sister, why are you crying? Please don’t cry, okay? I don’t want to see you cry. Please stop, alright?” As he spoke, Chen Tianqi reached out and gently wiped the tears from Zhang Wan’er’s cheek. “Big sister, please don’t cry. Are you hungry too? I’ll let you have my food, just please don’t cry, okay?”
“Wow…” Upon seeing this scene and hearing those words, Zhang Wan’er couldn’t hold back any longer and finally burst into tears. After a few seconds, she reached out and held Chen Tianqi’s hand, giving it a gentle pat. “Big sister isn’t hungry. You eat, this is all yours, all for you, Chen Tianqi.”
“Big sister, my name is Chen Tianqi, right?”
“Yes, you are Chen Tianqi… wow…” Zhang Wan’er covered her mouth with one hand while tears streamed down her face.
Chen Tianqi looked at Zhang Wan’er in front of him and was genuinely puzzled. If the big sister wasn’t hungry, why was she still crying? My name is Chen Tianqi…
“Big sister, please don’t cry, okay? I don’t know why, but when I see you cry, it makes my heart feel bad too. I’m begging you, big sister, don’t cry, alright?” He shook Zhang Wan’er’s hand gently as he spoke.
At that moment, Zhang Wan’er felt even sadder. However, she wiped the corner of her eye and forced a smile that could light up the world.
“Alright, big sister won’t cry anymore. Tianqi, be a good boy and eat well so you can grow up, okay? Or should I feed you?”
“Okay, okay…” Chen Tianqi’s thoughts were no different from a three-year-old child at that moment. When he heard the big sister say she would feed him, he clapped his hands, looking very delighted.
Finally, Zhang Wan’er stopped crying, picked up a bowl, and took a bite of the vegetables.
“Come on, Tianqi, be good… open your mouth, I will feed you.”
“Ah…” Chen Tianqi obediently opened his mouth…
“I wonder how Chen Tianqi is doing now. Should I go see him? Now that I know the truth, if I go….” Xu Meng thought to herself at home. “Never mind, I won’t go. I can’t go. I’ll think about it later. It seems like Shaofei has been really busy lately. I wonder what he’s busy with?”
During this time, Xu Feng had been racking his brain over the matters concerning the Chen Family’s company. However, once Chen Hui learned that Xu Feng was alive and nearby, not far from where Chen Tianqi was, he decided it would be good to pay him a visit. It had been a while since old friends had seen each other, and there would surely be plenty to catch up on.
Night fell quickly. The two men rode their bicycles to the edge of an alley. One of them stopped, took something in hand, and walked inside, while the other remained outside the alley.
This man was Chen Tianyou. He had wanted to visit Chen Tianqi for a long time, but had never found the opportunity. Today, Chen Hui had finally agreed to let him come, so Chen Tianyou brought a doctor along and decided to see Xu Feng while he was at it.
After a little while, Chen Tianyou came out, as the doctor was still waiting for him.
A few minutes later, guided by the doctor, Chen Tianyou found where Chen Tianqi was, pushing the door open and wheeling his bicycle inside as well.
What he saw was Zhang Wan’er feeding Chen Tianqi with a spoon, one bite at a time.
He wasn’t sure what to say and didn’t want to intrude and disrupt that touching scene…
After standing there for a while, Zhang Wan’er seemed to notice Chen Tianyou and waved him inside. He carried the supplies he had bought and stepped into the room, placing them in the corner.
After a few casual exchanges, the doctor finished checking on Chen Tianqi and said, “His condition has improved. Thankfully, he is alive and awake. Otherwise, he might have ended up in a coma. It appears he has lost his memory and his mental state is equivalent to that of a child. As for what the future holds, none of us can say for certain. This may just be how things are moving forward.”
Upon hearing this, Chen Tianyou’s expression turned grim. Chen Tianqi was his younger brother; how could he not be worried? “Doctor, is there any way to help my brother recover?”
“I’m sorry, I’ve done all I can.”
“How could this happen?” After hearing those words, Chen Tianyou’s expression grew heavier as he gazed hopelessly at Chen Tianqi, who was playing on the floor.
Zhang Wan’er looked at Chen Tianqi, at a loss for words. Her heart ached, but she had already made up her mind.
“As long as you don’t mind me, I will take care of you forever…”
