Doll Survival Game - Chapter 93 - Fairy Tale Forest (Part 30)
One after another, the attacks came relentlessly.
Like melting ice cream, Duan Miaomiao’s right arm transformed back from a blade to an arm. She gasped for air-how many monsters had she killed?
Ten? Or twenty?
But why… Duan Miaomiao looked ahead at the little girl standing atop the shaggy monster, watching her throw another flesh ball that split into two spiky monsters.
Why does she keep bringing out monsters endlessly!
In her shapeshifted form, Duan Miaomiao saw the world tinted in grey tones, the colors far less vibrant, matching the despair of the situation before her.
It seemed endless… Little Red clearly had many more monsters, given her relaxed posture and expression.
Her left arm was pierced with several large holes, dripping with bright red blood.
She looked utterly disheveled.
It didn’t hurt much, but that was only because the pain sensation was much lower in the shapeshifted state. The damage was still glaringly present.
Her arm was definitely ruined-once she transformed back into a human, it would hurt terribly.
Duan Miaomiao internally cried-she really wasn’t good at fighting. Powerful items were just that, items, and usual instances did not involve bosses. Her bio-morphing was usually enough.
Sometimes, she could even hear others praise her strength.
But Little Red was terrifying. She hadn’t even taken a direct action herself yet, just continuously releasing monsters while looking on with a spectator’s amusement-terrifying!
After this instance, she really should work on improving her martial arts; otherwise, it was a waste of such a good item.
Little Red hardly gave her any time to rest. Now, she paused briefly, looking with interest at the blood flowing freely from the holes in her arm: “You should be happy. Even though you’re inherently ugly, the bleeding brings your charm up to average.”
Little psychopath.
Duan Miaomiao cursed internally, then remembering that Little Red was only a child in appearance, removed the ‘little’ from her insult-psychopath! She just wanted to see the blood and pain.
Unfortunately, there were no screams of agony. Little Red sat down, petting the shaggy monster beneath her, then looked at the shapeshifted being not far away: “I’ve had my fun. After I kill you, I’ll go find that doll.”
Duan Miaomiao tensed up, then watched as the two spiky creatures charged at her, while Little Red, with a rabbit head tucked under her arm and hands cupping her face, displayed an image of innocence and cuteness: “I want to tear that doll apart, crush his head, then burn it bit by bit.”
Before knowing how the magician felt about the doll, she had thought about turning the doll into a specimen to give to the magician. Now that seemed ridiculous!
Stupid magician!
Thinking of this, Little Red instantly felt upset. She glared as the spiky monsters nearly reached the shapeshifted being-just kill them all, one by one causing trouble on her turf, utterly annoying…
After killing her, she would then destroy the rest belonging to the doll’s faction, and then take her little treasures for a stroll in the forest, running over anyone they saw.
Little Red was indulging in her beautiful aspirations for the near future when, the next second, she heard the sound of the wind.
The wind?
It wasn’t the wind!
“Surprise~”
A voice, filled with malice, suddenly rang out. Little Red turned her head and widened her eyes, then she saw the silver thread, shimmering under the moonlight, attacking her.
The source of the silver thread, spreading in an arc, was a magician wrapped in blood-stained bandages. He landed gracefully on the ground, and Luo Yiran, perched on the magician’s shoulder, wore a delicate yet pretentious face that made Little Red feel nauseated with its falsely gentle smile. “Surprise.”
“…”
No need.
Unable to dodge the silver thread, Little Red simply stood still. She just watched the threads and called out softly, “Shaggy Monster.”
The doll blinked gently, and then he saw the shaggy monster beneath Little Red suddenly raise its forelimbs to shield her.
Blood splattered, and a smile returned to Little Red’s face as she slid off the shaggy monster in the moment it shielded her-Shaggy Monster’s body was strong, those slender threads could only scratch its skin…
Before she could finish the thought, a mass of bloody, furry flesh suddenly whizzed past her. Little Red quickly turned her head.
She watched as the net-like silver thread approached, and the shaggy monster that had just been shielding her was neatly sliced into countless pieces.
Blood splashed on her face, chunks of flesh fell on her, and Little Red clenched her teeth. She watched the approaching silver thread and once again pulled out a flesh ball: “No. 55!”
The dense flesh rapidly expanded, but before it could fully form, the silver thread struck it.
The death of Shaggy Monster made Little Red realize that No. 55 couldn’t hold either. So, the moment she threw the flesh ball, Little Red immediately moved away from the spot.
The silver thread wasted some effort but still successfully shattered No. 55.
“Damn it!” Little Red, in a fit of rage, reached into her pocket again. Her pocket was connected to her special place for making monsters, where she stored all her creations. Just as her hand was about to pull out another monster, Little Red paused and then turned her head only to see those two spiky monsters getting defeated by the female shapeshifted being again.
But similarly, the shapeshifted being had lost nearly half of her body, sitting directly on the ground with blood everywhere.
“Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!!!”
Little Red spoke with a childish anger-Why hasn’t she died! She had already wasted eighteen monsters! All in that short span…
And that guy in the forest on the right, she had unleashed No. 23, such a strong No. 23, but he still hadn’t been dealt with!
This instance, because players would face the bosses directly, and there were so many bosses, was initially deemed too biased towards fairness, and the game wouldn’t pass it until she adjusted the bosses’ abilities.
She reduced all the bosses’ powers to 50%, and then the game approved it.
Little Red had no objections. The players were too weak. Even though the game granted them the same miraculous powers, they were still too weak. The last instance she created at 60% of her power, she came out without a scratch.
But why is the quality of the players different this time?
Damn it! Damn it!
The silver thread no longer attacked but formed a protective net, marking the boundary between the shapeshifted being and the doll, isolating Little Red from them.
The doll glanced at the silver thread in his hand. To maintain its sharpness, he had woven it into a lace-like pattern, taught by the girls in his class. In its relaxed state, it was hollow, but with force, it twisted into a solid form, making it less likely to break while retaining its sharpness.
Yet now, it seemed even harder and sharper. Could it be growing stronger with use?
The silver thread moved, slicing through the grass below as if cutting through air.
It was definitely harder and sharper now, perhaps no longer just silver thread.
The doll turned back to the shapeshifted being. “Miaomiao-Jie?”
The shapeshifted being’s dark head flushed slightly. Its voice was strange but still carried a twisted tone. “If I said I’m not Duan Miaomiao, would you believe me?”
Luo Yiran chuckled, “I believe you. So, Miaomiao-Jie, how are you now? Can you hold on until dawn?”
Still calling her Miaomiao-Jie…
Duan Miaomiao glanced at her own body and nodded. “In this form, I can.” But if she reverted to human form, she’d be finished instantly.
The doll looked to the right, where the sounds of battle echoed. “Yuan Mo-Ge is over there?”
Duan Miaomiao nodded. “He tried to help me, but Little Red released a monster that knocked him over there.”
“The monster Little Red called No. 23. The smaller the number she throws, the stronger the monster.”
She paused, then stood up. “I’ll go find him… Ranran, can you handle Little Red for now?” Although the doll had the upper hand earlier, Little Red clearly had many more monsters.
Luo Yiran didn’t speak immediately, his gaze briefly flickering over her wounds.
Duan Miaomiao raised her remaining hand. “No problem. As long as my brain is intact, I can survive… And rescuing Yuan Mo will help me recover faster.”
So the doll didn’t stop her. He nodded. “Leave it to me… After you kill No. 23, leave immediately. I’ll handle things here.”
“Then regroup and assist Lin Ye and the others. Our goal isn’t Little Red but to annihilate the serpent man faction and seize the treasure.”
Though Little Red seemed intent on not letting any of them escape.
Duan Miaomiao understood the stakes. Ultimately, their enemies were all players and bosses except for their own group of eight. Killing the bosses was the only way to completely rid themselves of them.
But the doll was the lord, so important that Lin Ye wished to hide him away.
If he died, everything would be over.
“You can come help me once you’ve done everything.” The doll saw through her thoughts. “During this time, I won’t die.”
They couldn’t leave more people here to deal with Little Red, as they intended to complete the two options of task two.
In the process of seizing the treasure, they aimed to annihilate the serpent man faction, and vice versa.
This approach was safer for clearing the game and might yield better rewards. With the game update imminent, who knew what changes would occur? But before that, the more items they had, the better.
Moreover, they had the capability to do so.
Duan Miaomiao looked at the doll’s armless body and declared firmly, “We’ll complete the task quickly and come to help you.”
The doll nodded with a smile-if Duan Miaomiao and Yuan Mo went, their task progress would surely be swift, but reaching him might be uncertain, especially if acquiring the treasure attracted the bosses’ wrath, unless they killed all the bosses.
Either he would defeat Little Red and rejoin the team, or his teammates would kill the other bosses and come to his aid.
The doll controlled the magician to turn around, watching as the No. 8 monster Little Red had thrown was blocked by the silver thread. Though not reduced to flesh chunks, its body was covered in blood.
Little Red clutched the rabbit head tightly, squeezing it so hard that the bloody rabbit head was slightly deformed. “You’re forcing me…”
Little Red raised her hand fiercely. “No. 1! No. 2!”
The thrown flesh balls expanded, and two towering humanoid monsters emerged, resembling a naked man and woman.
Two giants, seemingly made of earth, let out a low, inhuman roar, then stomped down on the silver thread net.
Little Red tilted her head back, her eyes red as she shouted, “Dad! Mom! Help me kill him!”
