Doll Survival Game - Chapter 90 - Fairy Tale Forest (Part 27)
A grand celebration.
The doll glanced up-the night had arrived sooner than expected. Exchanging a brief nod with Lin Ye and the others, they all headed off in their respective directions without looking back.
The little girl’s voice continued explaining the new rules. Luo Yiran, while guiding the magician towards the elf’s territory, listened intently to the system’s update.
Essentially, the rules prohibiting players from engaging in battles upon meeting at night and preventing lords from leaving their territories were abolished.
Additionally, the map now displayed the location of all players as tracking blips. While names were not shown above these blips, numbers indicated which faction they belonged to.
However, the blips representing lords had their numbers directly on them, making them obvious targets.
Luo Yiran observed the map with a detached expression, noting the overlapping blips marked with numbers four and one-likely the ongoing skirmish involving Wang Xiaoming and Feng Bai.
And then there was…
His eyes scanned the map-just as they had predicted.
The lords were quite stingy.
Almost immediately after the rules were explained, the vine monster and Little Red were headed his way.
Another blip accompanied the vine monster, likely Mr. Gardener, the regulator of the vine monster’s territory.
As his gaze shifted, the doll noticed other lords rushing towards their treasures.
He sighed softly, “I can understand Little Red coming after me, given that her treasure is on her person and she wants revenge for the earlier fire… But why do the vine monster and Mr. Gardener despise me so much? Instead of reclaiming their treasures, they choose to hunt me down?”
Not that he was particularly surprised.
From yesterday to today, they had discussed and anticipated the possible scenarios that might unfold.
So far, everything was within their expectations.
On the final night, the game would undoubtedly reveal the location of all players; otherwise, progressing the game would be challenging.
Moreover, the rule preventing bosses from leaving their territories would certainly be abolished. Otherwise, bosses would remain like stationary towers, merely waiting for players to attack. Especially now, with most treasures in the hands of players, there was no reason for others to seek out bosses for a challenge.
Thus, the bosses were released, allowing them to provoke players and reclaim their treasures.
Player battles were uncertain, but not a major concern, as the remaining strong players were likely just the hunters and Feng Bai’s group.
While players could gain advantages within their own territories, and aside from their faction, other factions’ players had abilities and certain restrictions granted by their lords, giving them an edge.
However, for Luo Yiran, the bosses were of greater importance.
One certainty was the animosity from ninety-nine percent of the Fairy Tale Forest’s creatures towards him, which would inevitably lead to Little Red’s pursuit.
Lin Ye and the others had considered-
Once territory restrictions were lifted, bosses would most likely attempt to reclaim their treasures first. However, it was also possible that the animosity value on the doll would cause bosses with grudges to seek out Luo Yiran for revenge.
Regardless of which scenario unfolded, their plan remained unchanged.
After all, their plan was quite straightforward and brute-force, lacking in refinement or detail-purely reliant on sheer strength.
The first target was clear-kill the elf.
The doll’s eyes flickered with a cold light.
On the map, the vine monster, Mr. Gardener, and Little Red, all marked by a tracking blip with the number seven, were stopped in their tracks.
Not bad at all. The doll’s gaze was icy, but his smile was widening.
A noise came from ahead, the doll’s long eyelashes quivered, and then he maneuvered the magician to stretch out his arms, a deck of cards sliding from his sleeve, smoothly spinning on his bandage-wrapped fingertips.
With a calm gesture, the magician chuckled softly, mirroring the movement, tossing the cards from between his fingers towards the front.
A scream echoed from ahead, Luo Yiran didn’t even blink as he walked straight through the splattering blood, his focus intensely on the elf’s position on the map, his lips curving up slightly, filled with eager anticipation.
A short distance to the side and back, Little Red, just outside the territory, abruptly stopped. She looked ahead at the unthreatening bio-morph that had suddenly appeared in front of her, short fleshy hands lifting to remove the red hood from her head, her voice puzzled, “Eh? Didn’t I make this? Is it human?”
Item: [Bio-morphing]
Duan Miaomiao exhaled softly, staring at the small girl in front of her, so innocently cute, yet cradling a bloody, disgusting rabbit head…
Tsk.
-If Little Red is going to make a move, then I’ll handle her.
She surprised herself by speaking with such confidence… slightly regretful, but there was no turning back now.
Duan Miaomiao clenched her hands, her skin now rough and covered with scales, her fingers transformed into long blades, and bright red short horns grew out of her forehead. Traces of her humanity were now very rare.
This was a monster Duan Miaomiao had encountered in an instance, probably quite strong.
Little Red didn’t hear a response from the bio-morph in front of her, so she pulled a spherical item from her pocket and threw it at it: “I hate rude adults the most, and I’m in a hurry, monster!”
The sphere quickly enlarged in mid-air into a two-headed giant wolf, and with the rabbit head under her arm, Little Red ran forward following the giant wolf: “Number ninety-three! Kill her!”
But as her childish voice just fell, the giant wolf suddenly disintegrated, chunks of flesh flying.
Blood covered Little Red behind the disintegrating giant wolf, and she stopped abruptly with a stern face.
Blood sticky and messy on her fists, Duan Miaomiao’s expression twisted-so disgusting… I really hate fighting!
She looked up at Little Red not far away, her mouth without lips opening, and said in a hoarse voice, “If that’s all, you can’t get past here.”
In the shadows, Yuan Mo, crouching on a tree, exhaled softly-good, if they’re just stopping her, it should be fine.
It all depends on the others now.
At the edge of the vine monster’s territory, in the no lord’s territory.
The vine monster and Mr. Gardener just outside the territory abruptly stopped, a cold chill shooting up from their feet to their backs, followed by a continuous rumbling sound.
Vines and branches instantly wrapped around themselves forming armor, but the expected attack didn’t come, just the ground continuously rising into high… ice walls?!
Ice? Where did all this ice come from… the only nearby water is the river!
“Honestly, I’d rather go find Feng Bai, but I might be better suited to face you guys.” The red wings fluttered, carrying the red-haired youth to sit atop the towering ice wall.
Lin Ye glanced down at the two below, a smirk playing on his lips. He pulled a lipstick encased in a square box from his pocket and applied it to his lips, smearing the red upwards with his fingers.
He applied a lot, so much that the lipstick smeared from the corners of his mouth almost to his temples. With this, Lin Ye’s entire demeanor transformed, exuding an eerie malevolence, as if the bright red lipstick had unlocked a demon bound by chains.
What kind of… monsters are these?!
Mr. Gardener gritted his teeth, but his hands didn’t falter as he directed the branches to attack Lin Ye.
The ice instantly froze the branches, and Lin Ye leisurely took out a collection of silver accessories-earrings, necklaces, rings-and put them on.
With each item added, the sinister aura around him intensified.
After slipping a wide ring onto his middle finger, Lin Ye licked his upper lip, his smile stretching into a grotesque grin. “I really like this instance.”
“It allows me to use this item to its full potential.”
Item-[Ice]
Though this item had limited uses, this was the last time it could be employed.
Mr. Gardener clicked his tongue, the flowers at the ends of his hair beginning to bloom, as countless branches surged forward. Meanwhile, the vine monster’s vines coiled and leveraged upwards. He grumbled impatiently, “That’s why I say, humans are such a nuisance!”
From above, Lin Ye looked down at the vine monster and Mr. Gardener. With lipstick applied and silver accessories donned, he seemed to have transformed into another person. He hugged himself, red wings and hair in harmony, his expression manic. “Come on, let’s revel together~”
Zhang Mimi, still on his way, heard the commotion behind him. He accidentally stepped too hard, snapping a branch as thick as a human body. Quickly regaining his balance, Zhang Mimi shivered slightly, glancing at the towering ice wall behind him.
Tsk, Lin Ye must be thrilled.
It’s like he’s got a split personality.
But that’s still Lin Ye. Zhang Mimi quickly closed his eyes, a memory flashing of a young Lin Ye smashing a man’s fingers with a brick.
Lin Ye, in truth, yearned for violence and bloodshed, though he wouldn’t provoke it and often avoided danger.
He had his own code of conduct, somewhat similar to… Luo Yiran’s state?
They knew their limits and understood restraint and composure, perhaps that’s why they only became special species.
However.
Zhang Mimi landed on the ground, looking at the gathering players ahead-Lin Ye seemed freer than Luo Yiran. Because everything Lin Ye did was from his own heart, while Luo Yiran seemed shackled by chains placed on him by others, chains he inexplicably accepted…
That’s the feeling.
“…”
Zhang Mimi scratched his head-just guessing.
After all, he grew up with Lin Ye, so he knew about him, but with Luo Yiran, it was all imagination… probably got it wrong!
He took out a mask and put it on, stopping his thoughts. He calmed his breath, discreetly observing the front-better to focus and wait for the right moment.
The last glimmer of twilight was swallowed by the horizon as the doll stood atop a tall tree, witnessing darkness engulf the sun, and then the moon emerged.
The elven territory was filled with towering trees, though the spacing between them wasn’t too close, making it easy to navigate.
The flowers and grass on the ground emitted a gentle glow, appearing warm and soft.
“Young master, isn’t it beautiful?” The magician gazed at the glowing flora. “This is a sign that the elf is about to perish.”
“Very beautiful,” the doll replied, his head lowered, his expression obscured in shadow.
Earlier, the elf’s treasure had been taken, then reclaimed, a process that must have left the elf wounded and weary. Yet, it was surprising to see it in a near-death state.
Whoever came to slaughter the elven faction and seize its treasure had not only killed all the players but also left the elf in such a dire condition…
On the map, the number representing the elven faction was down to just the elf, even the regulator was gone.
The doll directed the magician forward, watching as the point representing the elf on the map drew ever closer to his own position, prompting him to lift his gaze.
And there it was-a seemingly ordinary tree.
Without hesitation.
Luo Yiran maneuvered the magician to draw the short sword from his waist, then thrust it fiercely into the tree.
Pale green, glowing liquid dripped from the tree, and the doll heard a sound of agony.
The tree twisted before him, and the doll took only a step back, observing as a humanoid figure detached from the tree, the anticipation on his face dissipating.
Long green hair, skin as white as snow, wings as thin as cicada wings, and pointed ears.
The elf collapsed to the ground, its body covered in wounds, especially a terrifying bloodstain on its pointed ear, as if it had been severed and reattached.
“Truly beautiful…” the doll remarked in admiration, then directed the magician to crouch down. The elf struggled in pain, its pale green blood seeping into the ground, invigorating the flora.
The magician grasped the elf’s ear, which was loose, and it fell off as soon as he touched it.
The magician closed his eyes gently, speaking with a sigh, “Young master, it’s dying. If you don’t kill it, its death will belong to the one who inflicted those wounds.”
The doll glanced at the map, then raised an eyebrow, and without hesitation, drove the silver thread directly into the elf’s neck.
In the moment following the fatal strike, he directed the magician to leap swiftly away.
Boom-
A loud noise accompanied by the system’s voice resounded-[Congratulations to Faction No. 7’s lord, Luo Yiran, for killing Lord No. 5.]
[Congratulations to Faction No. 7’s lord, Luo Yiran, for eliminating the last member of Faction No. 5; congratulations to Faction No. 7 for successfully occupying Territory No. 5.]
Dust billowed as a slender woman landed heavily on the ground, cracks spreading across the earth. Her legs were covered in black-gray fur, her muscles solid and formidable.
Moreover, she was armed to the teeth, with weapons ranging from knives to firearms.
The woman spat to the side, then turned her furious gaze toward the bandage-wrapped magician and puppet. “You brat, stealing my kill?!”
