Doll Survival Game - Chapter 68 - Fairy Tale Forest (Part 5)
“Ah-”
Another scream pierced the brief silence of the forest.
Jumping and then grabbing a tree trunk, Via’s body naturally hung down. He clicked his tongue, “Who is it this time? Sounds pretty miserable.”
Li Qi Feng flitted through every shadow, stopping not far from Via. He hesitated for a moment before speaking, “That voice… it sounds like Xia Lang.”
Via was taken aback, and then his expression changed, “What’s that kid doing? Didn’t we tell him to be careful?” With that, Via dropped from the tree and swiftly moved towards the direction of the scream, using the branches as his path.
Li Qi Feng followed steadily, “The visibility in this forest is too low. He might have already done his best.”
Ahead, a player emerged from the dense foliage, raising a gun directly at Via. But upon recognizing the face of the person rushing towards him without hesitation, the player shivered, quickly lowered his gun, and ran off.
A knife, as long as a forearm, spun in Via’s hand. He stepped onto the spot where the fleeing player had just been, pausing for a moment as his gray curly hair bounced atop his head.
“What is it?” Li Qi Feng moved to the branch below where Via stood.
Via sheathed his knife, “In the previous instances, except for the battle with the mermaid, I never really felt that we were actually quite formidable.” But seeing someone flee at their sight reminded him of past events.
Leaping into the air, Via moved forward again.
Li Qi Feng lowered his eyes slightly, speaking in a very soft voice, “Because someone else shines brighter.” Their performance was just not bad.
Central Lobby.
“Hmm…” Tian Tang made a sound that was hard to interpret, then swung her crossed leg, “This Xia something…”
“Xia Lang,” Wei Lianlian reminded.
Tian Tang elongated her voice with an “oh,” twirling a lollipop in her hand, “Xia Lang, he’s got some luck, huh? Always managing to dodge just before getting killed.”
Wei Lianlian paused, then sighed helplessly, “Tian Tang, once or twice could be luck, but he’s dodged three or four times now.”
Tian Tang was taken aback. Being a bit shorter than Wei Lianlian, even sitting, she had to slightly lift her chin to look at her, “But he looks like a total loser.”
Wei Lianlian asked, “Haven’t you seen ‘The Vanished Mermaid’?”
Tian Tang flicked her twin ponytails, speaking with justified confidence, “I did, but I quit halfway through!”
The surrounding gazes varied in meaning, but Wei Lianlian was long used to such scrutiny. She crossed her right leg over her left, explaining to Tian Tang with a detached expression, “In that instance, Xia Lang became the leader of the lower class area. He created a new faction outside the game’s rules.”
Tian Tang was stunned. She looked closely at Xia Lang’s display panel, seeing him being scared to tears by the serpent man and then scrambling away. She frowned, “This coward?”
Wei Lianlian observed Xia Lang’s reactions closely. “He’s quick to respond and has a keen sense of danger. To put it bluntly, his body is naturally suited for combat.” It’s just a pity that Luo Yiran’s upbringing turned him into a wreck.
Tian Tang, never having heard such praise from Wei Lianlian before, was displeased. “I’m more suited for battle than he is.” She tugged at her elaborate dress with a smug expression. “I can defeat a boss even in this cumbersome outfit!”
Wei Lianlian couldn’t help but deflate her pride. “When I beat you, you were wearing a tank top and shorts. Not cumbersome at all.”
Tian Tang pouted. “That’s why you’re the master.”
The word “master” gave Wei Lianlian a headache. She rubbed her temples. “Stop fooling around. Look at the display panel; the doll is about to pull that person down.”
“What an idiot,” Tian Tang scoffed. “I thought he was impressive, but he’s just falling for it… huh?! Damn!!”
“Watch your language,” Wei Lianlian said, giving Tian Tang a light chop on the head.
Though the chop wasn’t gentle, Tian Tang didn’t mind. She rubbed her head absentmindedly, eyes wide in disbelief as she stared at Luo Yiran’s display panel. “Was he just naked? It got censored!”
“Aren’t there no minors in the game? Why censor it? Let me see!!!”
Because the magician stubbornly refused to pull, the doll, feeling considerate, reinforced the silver thread by winding it several times, then used it to bind the beauty’s neck.
The beauty was puzzled. “?”
The magician watched the doll manipulate the silver thread almost as if controlling his own body, his mood improving. The bob he had given the doll allowed for steadier control of the thread, and seeing the doll use it filled him with a sense of trust and joy.
Until the other end of the silver thread wrapped around the magician’s arm. “Young master?” he questioned.
The doll smiled. “This way, I don’t have to touch you. Let’s go.”
The magician grudgingly let the doll manipulate him to exert force. Watching the beauty above turn red from being pulled, he felt a bit better.
The doll loosened the magician’s grip, then resumed pulling as the beauty caught his breath.
The beauty was too overwhelmed to speak. He struggled to keep his features composed, his voice strained. “Gentler, please…”
The doll pretended not to hear, focusing on the pull and release. Soon, the beauty’s chest was exposed, revealing he was male.
The magician was displeased. “Why aren’t you wearing clothes?”
The beauty coughed, finally managing to extend his hand through the leaves. His alabaster fingers grasped the silver thread, eyes red. “My clothes were dissolved.”
The doll narrowed his eyes slightly, smiling. “No worries, the puppet has plenty of clothes.”
The magician was speechless.
The beauty, holding the silver thread, quickly exerted force, pulling himself up to his waist.
The magician’s face darkened, while the doll paused, pondering. “Completely naked?”
The beauty blushed deeply.
Silence spoke volumes.
The magician forgot he had once said, “My body is only for you to see,” and sneered at the beauty. “Shameless.”
The beauty was unfazed, extending his arms. His voice wasn’t sweet, yet it carried a hint of coquettishness. “Please pull me down quickly.”
The magician felt even worse-he had tried to create this effect with Lin Luo’s appearance to act cute and coy with the doll, but he had failed, ending up with a deranged look instead.
And here was someone using the look and demeanor he couldn’t achieve, acting coy with his young master.
The magician narrowed his eyes.
The doll’s gaze was fixed on the beauty’s waist, where a transparent, sticky, pale green substance had just been pulled out, but it quickly spread downward.
The beauty smiled and asked, “What’s wrong?”
The doll also smiled, shook his head, and then maneuvered the magician to pull the beauty out in one swift motion.
The magician gasped, “Young master! Close your eyes! There’s something dirty!”
The beauty, lying naked on the ground, was speechless.
The doll disdainfully maneuvered the magician to kick some fallen leaves over to barely cover the beauty. “Do you have any clothes? Give him something to cover up.”
The magician didn’t have clothes, but he had fabric. He opened the box, grabbed some fabric, and tossed it onto the beauty.
The doll watched the person stand up and spoke gently, “What’s your name?”
The beauty blushed shyly, “Qi Yu.”
The doll smiled, “Ah, Qi Yu, now, give me the item and the money.”
The beauty was taken aback, and his ears and cheeks turned a light pink. “I-I actually don’t have any, I’m a new play…er…”
His words stopped abruptly as he looked at the thin silver thread wrapped around his neck, his long eyelashes lowered, and his pupils trembled. “You, you…”
The doll’s smile vanished, his expression turned cold as he flicked his finger, tightening the silver thread, causing a green hue to appear around Qi Yu’s neck. “Give me the money and the item.”
The green blood didn’t surprise the doll in the slightest; he just looked at Qi Yu with a cold, indifferent gaze.
Qi Yu quickly realized that the doll probably already knew his identity, so the vulnerability on his face disappeared instantly. He stood still, eyes lowered, looking down. “Can this hurt people?”
The doll raised an eyebrow slightly. “The thinner, the sharper.” But just now, several strands combined were almost as thick as his arm, unlikely to hurt anyone.
Qi Yu didn’t move, his dark pupils lightened, revealing a deep green within. “What do you want?”
In truth, it was usually difficult to pull him out; more often, he would drag people up. But the doll managed so easily because…
Qi Yu glanced at the magician.
The doll spread his hands. “I don’t want the item anymore. Give me a hundred thousand yuan and your flower.”
A hundred thousand. Honestly, among the players who had pulled him down, this was the least amount of money anyone had asked for, but-
“I don’t have a single penny,” Qi Yu admitted frankly.
The doll’s face darkened, and his attitude worsened, speaking impatiently, “Then give me the flower.”
Qi Yu stood straight. “Flowers bloom for reproduction. I don’t want to reproduce.”
The doll paused for a moment, then his gaze dropped to Qi Yu’s lower body.
Qi Yu frowned. “I’m asexual.”
What a pity, should have taken a look earlier.
The doll’s expression remained unchanged. “If you don’t bloom, I’ll kill you.”
Qi Yu wasn’t threatened by this, but blooming was something he needed to do anyway. And perhaps it was just an illusion, but he felt that if he really said no again, the silver thread might sever his neck.
Though he wouldn’t die from it.
The doll didn’t bother with the details. He recalled that asexually reproducing flowers attract insects for pollination. Judging by the vine monster’s current abilities, those insects might be the main obstacle. But first, getting the flower was key. So, he tightened the silver thread again, threatening, “Bloom.”
Qi Yu sighed and said, “Wait a moment.” With that, he closed his eyes, and a hint of green slowly emerged from the center of his silky hair. The green quickly sprouted into a stem and leaves, and soon, a flower bud appeared.
“……”
How perfunctory!
The pink bud split open slightly, releasing a faint fragrance. The doll couldn’t smell it, but it was common knowledge that blooming flowers have a scent. The only question was how far this scent could travel…
The doll paused and then looked down-[Can anyone smell the fragrance?]
Only Zhang Mimi responded: [No. Doll, did you find the vine monster?]
The doll glanced at Zhang Mimi’s position on the map: [Found it. Look at my location and come over.]
Zhang Mimi: [Got it!]
Zhang Mimi: [Wait! I can smell it now!]
Even though Zhang Mimi wasn’t far away, the scent was spreading quickly… and quite far.
Suddenly, a faint sound came from one side, approaching rapidly. And then… it came very fast!
Almost five seconds after hearing the sound, a roaring noise filled with anger came from above-
“Doll!”
The ball jointed hand with the silver thread rose and fell as the doll looked up to see a man in a brown suit, with dark green hair blooming with flowers, descending from the sky accompanied by countless branches.
Oh dear.
The doll said, “So, you’re the insect attracted by the flower Qi Yu bloomed?”
