Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 114 - Drugged Seduction
ded a smaller room fitted with a bed. Seeing that bed, Tang Jie immediately imagined what kinds of activities might occur in a place like this. He couldn’t stop a feeling of sensuality from rising in his chest.
However, thinking of Li Feifei, Tang Jie quickly dismissed the idea that anything would happen between them.
About ten minutes later, Li Feifei returned, followed by a waiter carrying a large tray. On it sat a bottle of red wine and two crystal-clear wine glasses. The bottle had already been opened. After the waiter left, Li Feifei picked up the wine bottle and poured wine into both glasses.
Tang Jie noticed that Li Feifei’s hands seemed to tremble slightly while pouring. Finding it curious, he chose to stay silent and simply observed her.
Li Feifei picked up one of the glasses and took a sip, emptying it in one go. She refilled her glass, turned toward Tang Jie, and flashed him a sweet smile.
“Come on, let’s have a toast,” she said, lifting the other glass and handing it to him. Tang Jie didn’t respond. He accepted the glass, brought it to his lips, but didn’t drink immediately. Instead, he studied Li Feifei closely.
He noticed that she was watching him intently. For a brief moment, a flicker of nervousness crossed her face before she quickly masked it. Tang Jie put down the glass and looked at her.
“Can you tell me how you know me?” he asked.
Li Feifei hadn’t expected the question and hesitated for a moment, looking visibly uneasy. But she quickly recovered and replied with a smile, “Don’t you know how famous you are? I’m not the only one who knows you. I just happen to like you, that’s all.”
After saying this, Li Feifei drank her wine again in one gulp. Before Tang Jie could ask anything else, she poured herself another glass. Her quick, seemingly nervous actions only made Tang Jie more certain she was trying to hide her inner anxiety.
“Then you say you like me. Tell me, what is it that you like about me?” Tang Jie asked, holding the glass in his hand, his sharp eyes fixed on Li Feifei.
“Why aren’t you drinking? Do you think the wine I ordered isn’t good? I can go ask them to replace it,” Li Feifei replied, evading his question. Her expression flickered briefly with complexity as she noticed Tang Jie hadn’t taken a sip.
Tang Jie observed her closely, a hint of sharpness flashing in his eyes, almost imperceptibly. Then, he picked up the glass and downed the wine in one gulp. Watching him finally drink, Li Feifei seemed to subtly exhale a sigh of relief.
But immediately after, Tang Jie noticed something strange. Li Feifei’s pretty face took on an expression that seemed tinged, not with happiness or even shyness, but with sadness-no, it was more like grim resolve. She sat there motionless, her demeanor lacking any trace of genuine affection. On the contrary, it seemed as if she were doing something under duress.
What was going on with her? At the same time, Tang Jie began to feel a change within his body. A surge of heat seemed to rise, spreading through him. He immediately realized that there had been something spiked in that glass of wine. Yet, he didn’t panic. Instead, watching Li Feifei carefully, he quickly formed a plan.
Feigning discomfort, Tang Jie raised a hand to his head as though dizzy. His body swayed like someone who had had too much to drink. Observing his change, Li Feifei slowly raised her head. Seeing his unfocused, drooping eyes, she realized the drug she had slipped into the wine had taken effect.
“Are you… okay?” she asked, leaning in closer. Her voice sounded concerned, but the nervous tension in her eyes betrayed her, as though she feared the drug might fail.
Tang Jie heard her words, and the heat in his body was intensifying. It was as if flames were building up in his lower body, growing fiercer by the second. Looking at Li Feifei, who appeared anxious even as she tried to show a facade of concern, he mumbled, “I feel a little dizzy. I think I need to rest for a bit.” He attempted to rise but staggered, nearly losing his balance.
Seeing this, Li Feifei quickly stepped forward to steady him. “Let me take you somewhere to rest,” she said.
“Alright,” Tang Jie muttered in reply. With Li Feifei supporting him, they left the private room. Exiting the bar, they got into Li Feifei’s SUV and quickly arrived at a luxury hotel.
Li Feifei swiftly arranged for a room at the front desk. Afterward, she helped Tang Jie into the elevator, and soon, they found themselves inside the room she had booked.
As soon as they entered, Tang Jie collapsed onto the bed, feeling the heat in his body intensify. The smoldering fire in his lower body now seemed to engulf him entirely.
Standing by the bed, Li Feifei’s expression was peculiar. She turned and walked to the door, locking it securely. She then slowly approached the bed and began removing her clothes piece by piece.
Seeing her undress, Tang Jie was shocked. He instantly understood what was happening. By the time Li Feifei was down to her underwear, she moved to the head of the bed and turned off the lights. The room was instantly plunged into darkness. However, the neon lights of the city outside filtered through the curtains, leaving the room dimly lit and the shadows faintly visible.
Li Feifei walked over to Tang Jie and stared at him for a moment. Tang Jie deliberately feigned confusion. However, as he looked at her face, he realized it was streaked with tears, though he couldn’t pinpoint when she had started crying. After standing silently for a while, she reached behind her back and began to unhook her bra. At that moment, Tang Jie could no longer bear to watch. He suddenly sprang up from the bed, startling Li Feifei. Her hands, which had been fumbling with the clasp, immediately moved to shield her chest.
“What’s wrong? Weren’t you trying to seduce me? Why cover up now?” Tang Jie said with a cold laugh, cutting through the darkness. He no longer looked like someone affected by a spiked drink.
The truth was, Tang Jie had grown suspicious before even sipping the wine earlier. He had deliberately drunk it to see what Li Feifei’s intentions really were. Playing along, he pretended to succumb to the effects. In reality, his inner strength had grown to a point where the dose of aphrodisiac she had used was completely ineffective. Every reaction and response up to now had been a calculated act.
Li Feifei was stunned to see Tang Jie suddenly so alert. A flush of embarrassment and anger crept across her face. Yet, oddly, she didn’t rush to put her clothes back on. Instead, she stood there, staring at him for quite some time before finally dropping her trembling hands from her chest. She stepped closer to him, her face tinged with shyness but her tone forced and unconvincing. “I… I like you. Don’t you like me?” she asked, her voice carrying a clear trace of reluctance.
Tang Jie scoffed internally but maintained a composed exterior. “Your figure’s not bad,” he said, his tone deliberately taunting. “If it’s just a one-night stand you’re offering, I’ve got no objections. So, take it all off and let me see. If I’m satisfied, we’ll continue from here.” He said this knowing full well that Li Feifei wasn’t truly willing. He could sense that she had some ulterior motive.
By pushing her like this, he intended to force her to reveal her true intentions.
As expected, Li Feifei froze at his words. Her body began to tremble uncontrollably, and it seemed as though she might collapse at any moment. Watching this, Tang Jie felt a pang of guilt, a flicker of compassion creeping in despite himself.
But then he reminded himself of her possible scheming and steeled his heart once more, his expression returning to its icy coolness.
Suddenly, Li Feifei dropped to the ground, covering her face with her hands as she started sobbing uncontrollably, her cries filled with anguish. Tang Jie was taken aback, staring at her as an inexplicable tightness clenched his chest.
He could no longer keep up his act. A girl’s tears were his Achilles’ heel. Tang Jie quickly stood and went to the bathroom, retrieving a towel. He draped the bath towel over Li Feifei’s shoulders and, at the same time, turned on the room’s light.
As he gently covered her with the towel, Li Feifei suddenly threw herself into his arms. She trembled like a wounded bird seeking solace in the arms of its master. Her vulnerability was crystal clear, and she clung to him as if he was the only source of comfort she could find.
Tang Jie did not push her away. He could tell that her sorrow was genuine this time. Her small shoulders heaved with sobs, the tears from her face soaking through the towel in no time. Tang Jie frowned deeply, conflicted as he looked at this strange girl before him.
He thought back to the first time they met, when she was colder and prouder than even Chen Shuran. Now, however, she resembled a helpless, frightened child, broken and unable to fight back against the troubles weighing on her. She cried so pitifully it pricked at Tang Jie’s heart.
After a long while, Li Feifei finally stopped crying. She lifted her head and looked at Tang Jie, who was sitting beside her. When their eyes met, Tang Jie couldn’t help but notice the despair lingering in her gaze. Breaking the silence, he asked quietly, “Why did you do this?”
By now, Tang Jie was certain that Li Feifei had intentionally approached him, and her actions had to have a purpose. However, judging by how reluctant she had been earlier, it was clear that she wasn’t acting entirely of her own free will-most likely, someone was forcing or threatening her to do this.
Realizing this, Tang Jie’s guard toward Li Feifei loosened significantly. Instead of suspicion, a sense of sympathy welled up in his heart.
Noticing the concern on Tang Jie’s face and the absence of his earlier hostility, Li Feifei glanced down at the bath towel wrapped around her. After a long hesitation, she choked back her tears and began to recount the truth behind everything.
Li Feifei explained that she had grown up without a mother, and her father had raised her alone. Their family was well-off, as her father owned several real estate companies. But about a month ago, her father had suddenly fallen gravely ill. His condition was severe, and none of the doctors were able to help. Desperate to save her father, Li Feifei searched everywhere for a cure-even traveling overseas to consult renowned specialists-but every response she received left her heartbroken. None of them could treat her father’s illness.
Just as Li Feifei was on the brink of despair, a mysterious man appeared and approached her. He handed her a medicine, claiming it could treat her father’s condition. Skeptical but desperate, Li Feifei took the medicine and gave it to her father. To her surprise, the medicine truly worked. However, the mysterious man warned her that the effects would only last for a short period. To completely cure her father, her father would need to take the medicine regularly over a long time.
Determined to save her father, Li Feifei begged the man for more medicine. She was willing to pay any price. But the man ultimately refused money. Instead, he made a single demand: Li Feifei had to carry out a task for him in exchange for the medicine.
“What he wanted you to do… was to approach me?” Tang Jie interrupted, his voice calm yet laced with understanding. By now, he had pieced together the mysterious man’s intentions. Clearly, his true goal was to manipulate Li Feifei into seducing him. But Tang Jie knew this was only the surface-there had to be a deeper, more sinister objective behind it all.
Li Feifei nodded hesitantly.
“So, did they tell you what you were supposed to do after getting close to me?” Tang Jie pressed on, his mind racing with questions as he tried to deduce the endgame of the person pulling the strings.
“They didn’t say,” Li Feifei admitted sincerely. “They only told me to seduce you and become your girlfriend. After that, they said they would tell me what to do next.” Her tone was honest, and the wide-eyed earnestness in her expression made it clear to Tang Jie that she wasn’t lying.
Tang Jie scrutinized her face for a moment longer, processing every detail of her story. It was evident she was nothing more than a pawn in someone else’s dangerous game, coerced into playing a role she clearly didn’t want.
