Demon-Wraith Plagued World: From Commoner to Supreme - Chapter 19 - Crushing Blow
After taking down Panther, Lin Feng felt a surge of Baleful Aura envelop him. Surely, under the Calamity Transcendence Divine Ability, he had gained a significant amount of Upgrade Points. Yet, in his current state of fury, he had no interest in checking.
He stepped over Panther’s fallen body, eyes fixed on Le and his group.
“You brat! What did you do to Panther?” Mad Biao shouted angrily.
Panther lay face down, his features obscured, leaving Le and the others unaware that he had been killed with a single punch.
“Speak! Who did it? Who killed my brother, Yu?” Lin Feng’s voice cut through the air as he halted, his right hand resting behind him.
“I don’t know what trick you used to take down Panther, but do you really think your little tricks will work again?” Mad Biao sneered, noticing Lin Feng’s hand inching towards the hilt of his knife. Even if Lin Feng had some skills, against someone like him, at the mid Body Forging stage, a mere knife wouldn’t be enough to kill him.
“Once I break your limbs and sell your mother and sister, let’s see how arrogant you can be!” With that, Mad Biao leaped forward, a cruel grin on his face.
Le, watching from the ox cart, squinted his eyes. He couldn’t fathom how Lin Feng had managed to floor Panther with a single punch. Surely, he must have used some underhanded tactic-perhaps drugged him or wielded a hidden weapon. Panther must have been caught off guard.
The dim lights of the shantytown made it hard to see clearly. As for the idea that Lin Feng’s Martial Arts cultivation surpassed Panther’s, making him a mid Body Forging warrior, Le found it utterly laughable. A fifteen or sixteen-year-old boy from the shantytown, a mid Body Forging expert? It was a joke of cosmic proportions.
Suddenly, a sharp “whoosh” pierced the air-the sound of a blade swiftly drawn from its sheath, sending a shiver down one’s spine. A faint glint of cold light followed.
A soft “thud” echoed, as quiet as a mosquito’s buzz. Mad Biao’s sinister smile froze.
As he jumped forward, Lin Feng moved. Almost as soon as the sound of the blade leaving its sheath was heard, a flash of cold light blossomed in Mad Biao’s eyes. He felt something graze his neck, a gentle touch, and then… nothing.
Mad Biao raised a hand, wanting to touch his neck, but found himself unable to move.
Lin Feng stood there, holding the gleaming Pig-killing Knife, not a drop of blood on it. His strike had been too swift.
So swift that Le couldn’t even see when the knife appeared in Lin Feng’s hand. Lin Feng continued forward, sidestepping Mad Biao.
“Mad Biao! Mad Biao? What’s going on? Break his limbs for me, hurry up and finish, then get back to the south of the city!” Le barked, oblivious to what had transpired. He couldn’t understand why Mad Biao wasn’t moving, why he hadn’t acted.
But a strange feeling crept over him, seeing the Pig-killing Knife in Lin Feng’s hand, sending chills down his spine. Lin Feng seemed like a Demon-Wraith emerging from the darkness. Yet, to Le, he was more terrifying than any Demon-Wraith.
As Le’s words faded, Mad Biao’s head toppled to the ground, blood gushing like a fountain, reaching three meters high.
Under the dim light, Le saw the neat incision, reminding him of the way his brother and others had died. The same precise cut, the knife skills were so extraordinary, accurate to the last detail.
“It was you! You killed my brother!” Anger overshadowed fear as Le sprang up, pointing at Lin Feng with fury.
Only now did he understand that Big Dog was right. Zhao Sheng hadn’t killed his brother. The one who did was Lin Feng, standing right in front of him.
But why did he kill his brother? Was it just over a little protection fee? If he’d known Lin Feng was this strong, he would have waived it!
“Get him! Kill that kid!” Le shouted at the remaining two lackeys.
But those two were already trembling in fear. Lin Feng was terrifying. In one move, he had decapitated their leader, Mad Biao, a mid Body Forging expert. They hadn’t even seen how he did it. How could they fight against that? Was the big leader out of his mind? For a qian of silver a month, why risk their lives?
The two lackeys retreated a few steps.
“Get your asses moving! Or I’ll show you what I’m capable of when we get back!” Le grabbed the whip from the ox cart and lashed it at the two lackeys.
Forced into action, the two drew their daggers and, trembling, approached Lin Feng slowly.
Le lashed the whip again, forcing them to charge forward.
But to Lin Feng, these two were just fodder, mere Upgrade Points.
With a swift stroke, he sliced both their throats.
Seizing the moment, Le launched a powerful kick, aiming directly at Lin Feng.
He had sent the lackeys forward to create an opening for this attack. Though he didn’t know Lin Feng’s Martial Arts cultivation level, he guessed it was at least equal to his own-late Body Forging. The real threat was Lin Feng’s knife, which was incredibly fast. He had to strike during the brief moment when Lin Feng’s old force was spent and new force hadn’t yet arrived. This way, even if Lin Feng was a late Body Forging expert like him, he could suppress him immediately.
Indeed, as Le’s kick came flying, Lin Feng had to hastily raise his hand to block.
“Thud, thud, thud!” The kick forced Lin Feng back several steps.
Le seized the opportunity, continuing his leg assault. His Minor Mastery of the Gale Leg technique swept towards Lin Feng like a storm.
But what he didn’t expect was that Lin Feng had perfected Body Forging. The power within him was far superior to Le’s late Body Forging.
Lin Feng used the back of his knife to block another leg strike, retreated a few steps, steadied himself, and then launched a punch.
His fist collided with Le’s sweeping right leg.
Le felt as if he had kicked a rock, pain shooting through his leg.
Yet he gritted his teeth and continued his attack, launching three more kicks.
However, Lin Feng’s punches grew heavier with each strike. The final punch, carrying a fierce wind, shattered Le’s Gale Leg technique.
Le tapped his toes, flipped backward, and distanced himself from Lin Feng.
“Impossible! How can you be perfected Body Forging? It’s absolutely impossible!” Le’s right leg trembled from pain, but it was nothing compared to the shock in his heart.
Today, he had hit a brick wall. He never imagined that the one to humble him wouldn’t be the Great Knife Gang’s big leader Zhao Sheng, but this unassuming, impoverished boy from his own territory, Lin Feng.
Lin Feng ignored Le’s questions. Seeing Lin Yu standing motionless, his anger flared anew.
He charged at Le.
“Give me back my brother’s life!” Lin Feng shouted, spinning the Pig-killing Knife in his hand before slashing down.
This strike was broad and forceful, lacking precision but cutting straight through Le’s body, nearly cleaving him in half. Bones and organs were surely severed and split open.
Even Le’s instinctive attempt to block with his left hand was cut into two pieces.
“What… what kind of knife technique is this?” Le’s eyes widened in disbelief.
He couldn’t understand how a knife technique could be so fast. Nor did he understand why Lin Feng was demanding his brother’s life. Shouldn’t it be him asking for his brother’s life back?
“Pig-killing,” Lin Feng spat out the words.
With that, Le shuddered, his body collapsing onto the ox cart, intestines spilling onto the ground.
