Deadly Sweet - Chapter 7 - Longan Brown Sugar Tangyuan1
Jiang Yao’s expression was cold, his emerald eyes devoid of any emotion. He was merely stating a fact, an attitude that showed he didn’t like Yan Heng.
“Why do you always put up your defenses around me? I won’t harm you, right?”
“Wrong.” Jiang Yao coldly rejected Yan Heng’s attempt at friendliness. He put on his headphones and laid his head on the desk, clearly not wanting to interact with anyone, especially the person beside him.
Jiang Yuan had been ignoring him since the day before yesterday. What was going on? Why was he so irritable? Jiang Yao thought to himself, feeling increasingly annoyed. Not only did Jiang Yuan not see him off at the start of the semester, but he also ignored him on QQ. This was really too much.
Yan Heng looked at Jiang Yao with a headache, not knowing how to win over this adorable little friend. Seeing that Jiang Yao seemed to have fallen asleep again, he decided not to disturb his nap.
The afternoon classes were similar to the morning ones, with teachers mainly explaining their classroom rules. These were always optional to listen to, and many students read extracurricular books without the teachers minding.
Yan Heng turned his head, quietly observing Jiang Yao’s porcelain-like face. He reached out a finger, wanting to touch it, but quickly retracted it as if startled.
He couldn’t be too hasty; rushing things wouldn’t win him the beauty’s heart.
Based on what he had just researched, omegas liked considerate and warm-hearted alphas, those who cared for them daily. Also, he couldn’t be too touchy-feely right away; he had to let the omega get used to his presence first.
Thinking of this, Yan Heng couldn’t help but want to release his pheromones to envelop his little friend. The cold yet aggressive scent of pine gradually filled the air. A girl sitting in front turned around, looking at Yan Heng in confusion.
She tapped on Yan Heng’s desk, her eyes full of disapproval. “Academic Genius Yan, the person next to you is an omega. Be careful.” Inducing an omega into forced heat with an alpha’s pheromones was not a pleasant experience.
Startled, Yan Heng quickly retracted his pheromones. He looked apologetically at the still-sleeping Jiang Yao, not knowing what to think.
The setting sun cast a golden glow over the vibrant forest, making the world look like it was covered in a thin mist. It was so beautiful it seemed like a fairyland. Jiang Yao opened his eyes, his emerald pupils reflecting the golden sky.
Fish-scale clouds surrounded the sun, ranging from light gold to a rich orange, creating a magnificent scene.
The slightly dark blue sky highlighted the sun’s colors, making it easier for the eyes to capture this rare beauty. Jiang Yao stared blankly at the boundless sky, his lips slightly parted.
“It’s going to rain…”
“Huh?” Yan Heng didn’t catch what Jiang Yao said, only seeing his lips move.
The sweet scent wafted into Yan Heng’s nose again. Jiang Yao frowned, rummaging through his bag before pulling out a candy and popping it into his mouth.
With the candy in his mouth, the little friend wrinkled his delicate nose, his long-cold expression softening slightly thanks to the candy’s comfort. “It’s nothing.”
His just-woken voice had a hint of a baby tone. Jiang Yao didn’t realize how enticing he looked, with his school uniform’s buttons undone to the second one, revealing his prominent collarbone.
“Classes start tomorrow.”
“Hmm?” Jiang Yao looked at Yan Heng, puzzled by the sudden change of topic. His eyebrows arched slightly, exuding a charm he was unaware of.
“I heard your grades aren’t very good.” Yan Heng chose a less offensive way to put it, his long eyes filled with amusement. The two students in front quietly moved away, distancing themselves from the impending conflict.
Jiang Yao was momentarily speechless. He stared at Yan Heng with a complex expression before finally speaking.
“Be more confident. Remove ‘heard’ and ‘very.'”
Jiang Yao’s poor grades were well-known, and he didn’t mind. But seeing Yan Heng’s cautious expression, as if afraid of hurting his feelings, made him want to laugh.
How could there be such a foolish person in the world? Would a school boss care about their grades? If they had good grades, they wouldn’t be called a school boss.
His slender fingers tapped on the desk, the crisp sound pulling Yan Heng out of his daydream.
Yan Heng’s gaze remained fixed on Jiang Yao, a foolish smile on his face. His little friend was joking with him, which was a good sign.
“So… do you need me to tutor you?” Yan Heng rubbed his hands together, looking expectantly at the indifferent Jiang Yao, fantasizing about their time together.
Tutoring was the best excuse to get closer! He could touch his little friend’s waist, hold his hand, kiss his face-how wonderful!
Jiang Yao’s gaze was like looking at an idiot. He finally shifted his eyes, his round eyes filled with a relaxed smile, looking both obedient and sweet.
“No, no need.”
Tutoring wasn’t for him. His brother had found many teachers for him, including famous ones, but it was useless. He wasn’t incapable of learning; he just didn’t want to take exams.
Yan Heng’s beautiful fantasy was abruptly shattered by Jiang Yao’s rejection. His smile stiffened, and after a moment, his eyes showed visible disappointment and sadness.
His lips formed a straight line as he stared at the composed yet slightly nostalgic Jiang Yao. After a moment’s hesitation, he finally voiced his thoughts: “Jiang Yao, do you have someone you like?”
It was quite bold for Yan Heng to ask this after just one day of sitting together.
Jiang Yao frowned, his cold gaze fixed on the uneasy Yan Heng. His eyebrows knitted slightly, his cat-like eyes darkening before settling into a deep night.
“Yes.”
This was the quickest way to make Yan Heng give up. His unusual behavior throughout the day now had a reasonable explanation.
So, he liked him? Jiang Yao thought to himself, turning his gaze to the sun disappearing over the horizon, leaving only a faint golden glow. A cold smile tugged at his lips.
His delicate features looked even more aloof with the smile, the golden light casting a divine aura on his porcelain face.
