Daddy, Mommy Ran Away - Chapter 203 - Will You Give Me Another Chance?
This public hospital had modest facilities, chosen by Zhan Tianxiang because it was the closest to the hillside, sparing her a visit to the private clinics owned by Leng Corporation.
The environment was ordinary but immaculately clean. Leng Qiuling was in a private room, its decor dominated by white.
When Zhan Tianxiang entered the room, Qiuling was still unconscious. Her petite body was wrapped in a white comforter, her palm-sized face pale as withered petals of a snow lotus, eyebrows tightly furrowed together, as serene as a porcelain doll.
His heart, already aching, throbbed with increased pain. Yet, seeing her familiar face brought a subtle joy that crept to his brows. It was as if something had burst through his heart, causing it to nearly boil over with emotion.
The doctor’s implications couldn’t be clearer, and from them, he excitedly gleaned that she had been without a man for the past five years.
Though, that didn’t stop many men from lingering constantly by her side.
Such a pure and adorable girl, and one that tugged at the heartstrings.
He gently caressed her cheek and left a soft kiss on her forehead: “Silly girl, will you give me another chance? I promise to protect and love you with my life.”
After giving instructions to the nurse, Zhan Tianxiang headed to the nearby supermarket. He rushed to the feminine hygiene product section, filled with a colorful array of brands, clueless about which brand Qiuling used, his face turning red as curious onlookers watched him load various brands into the shopping cart. He hurried through his shopping, picking up a toothbrush, towels, and several sets of pajamas for her.
However, he had forgotten that his own clothes were still damp and needed to be changed immediately.
When he returned to the hospital room, Leng Qiuling was already awake. She was leaning against the headboard, her head lowered, and her pale face wore a somber expression. Her eyes were red, giving her a somewhat lost look.
The moment the door opened, she lifted her gaze. Upon seeing the tall figure, her dim eyes suddenly sparkled like a pearl in the night, a hint of joy spreading across her small face, captured by the man’s deep eyes.
“You’re awake,” Zhan Tianxiang said, relieved to see her conscious. But the next moment, his heart leapt into his throat as he noticed the liquid in the IV tube had turned red.
The bag he was holding slipped from his hand, and a small package tumbled out onto the floor.
Frowning, Zhan Tianxiang quickly shut off the IV to prevent the blood from flowing back. Seeing her still in a daze, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of concern. In a low, caring voice, he asked, “What are you thinking about?”
So lost in thought that she didn’t notice the IV running dry and the blood reversing-truly a girl who needed looking after.
“Uh-” Leng Qiuling’s gaze shifted from the small package on the floor back to him, startled by his sudden voice. She looked up and met his dark, obsidian-like eyes, her pale face instantly flushing crimson.
When she had woken up earlier, she found herself alone in the room and thought he had left her, abandoning her. Her heart felt inexplicably heavy, sinking into despair.
She hadn’t expected that this man had gone out to buy her sanitary pads.
