Daddy, Mommy Ran Away - Chapter 202 - Hormonal Imbalance
“Alright, it’s been a while since I stretched my muscles. Today, I’ll treat it as a workout and help society by getting rid of a few scumbags,” Zhan Tianxiang’s anger flared as he saw Leng Qiuling’s disheveled state, her tear-streaked face searing into his mind. For the first time, fury threatened to drown his reason. His sharp gaze swept over the group of thugs: “Come at me all at once.”
He couldn’t imagine what might have happened if he hadn’t stayed by the corner wall, waiting for the rain to lighten before descending the hill. Fortunately, his keen ears caught her desperate cries, prompting him to rush over.
If he had been even a minute late, he couldn’t bear to imagine…
The thought of that man pressing down on Leng Qiuling filled him with murderous intent.
These scumbags, these degenerates!
Zhan Tianxiang’s cold sneer and disdain only fueled the anger of the already furious men, who gritted their teeth in icy rage: “Alright, since you’re so eager to die, we’ll do a good deed and send you on your way. Early death, early reincarnation! Everyone, attack! Beat him to death!”
With the order given, five burly men charged forward.
Leng Qiuling was completely panicked, unable to offer any help. She wanted to call for help but hadn’t brought her phone, leaving her to watch helplessly as the five men surrounded Zhan Tianxiang.
She had never seen Zhan Tianxiang fight before; he had always been so refined and gentlemanly. She never imagined he was so skilled in martial arts.
Weaving through the five men, his body moved with the agility of a swallow. In a flash, he seized the leader’s arm with a powerful grip and delivered a fierce punch to his eye. Following up with a kick to the stomach, the man flew backward, landing heavily on the floor.
Zhan Tianxiang swiftly advanced, grabbing the man’s arm and delivering several more punishing blows to his face.
Behind him, another man rushed forward, aiming a punch at his head. He deftly sidestepped, gripping the man’s shoulders and executing a shoulder throw, sending him crashing to the ground, his stomach receiving a kick. Turning back, he grabbed another man’s head, slamming it against the wall, causing his forehead to split open and blood to flow.
In no time, the group was left sprawled on the floor, unable to get up.
Leng Qiuling watched, her heart pounding with fear. Each time a fist seemed about to land on him, she could barely stand, leaning against the wall for support.
Seeing him dodge with agility, her heart would relax slightly.
His hair, dampened and clinging together from the rain, was now matted with sweat. His fists clenched, veins bulging on his hand. His eyes blazed with unrestrained fury as he continued to slam the man’s head against the wall.
Blood flowed continuously, a harrowing sight.
At that moment, one of the men staggered to his feet, grabbing a wooden stick from the ground, ready to strike Zhan Tianxiang’s head.
“No!” Leng Qiuling didn’t know where she found the strength, but she rushed forward, tackling the man to the ground. The stick still struck Zhan Tianxiang’s shoulder.
Due to the imbalance, Leng Qiuling, despite tackling the man, fell heavily to the floor herself.
Pain surged from her lower abdomen.
“Hiss-” It was a familiar pain, one she had grown accustomed to. She felt a sticky fluid slowly trickling down from her abdomen.
Her face turned even paler, hands pressing firmly against her stomach. Her mind flashed, suddenly remembering today’s date.
She had forgotten such an important day.
Ever since her miscarriage surgery, her menstrual cramps had become excruciatingly severe, each time leaving her in agony, with a heavy flow, especially when she caught a chill.
And now, she could distinctly feel the hot flow from her abdomen pouring out like a flood breaking its banks.
Oh God, oh God!
Her pale little face briefly flushed with a faint peach color before turning pale again. The excruciating pain made her completely unable to cope.
Zhan Tianxiang winced in pain, released the person in his hands, and turned around to see Leng Qiuling collapse onto the floor, her face twisted in agony, forehead dotted with dense beads of sweat like raindrops.
He was terribly startled, his heart pounding wildly. He knelt down and cradled her, beginning to examine her body. “Ling’er, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me. Where are you hurt?”
His anxiety was fully visible to her. She wanted to say she wasn’t hurt, but she felt so weak that she couldn’t even speak. The pain in her lower abdomen made her furrow her brow, nearly fainting.
“You’re bleeding!” His hand touched fresh blood when it reached between her legs, and a sudden fear overwhelmed him: “Don’t be afraid, Ling’er, I’m here. I’ll take you to the hospital, don’t be scared!”
…
In the hospital, Zhan Tianxiang placed Leng Qiuling on a wheelchair, his heart racing as he followed into the emergency room.
“Sir, you can’t go in,” a female doctor stopped him in time, “Family members must wait outside.”
Zhan Tianxiang’s nerves were taut as he clung to Leng Qiuling’s hand, unwilling to let go. “Doctor, how is she now? She keeps bleeding, keeps bleeding. You must save her, you must!”
How could she keep bleeding? He hadn’t found any wounds, yet the bleeding continued. For the first time, he felt such fear and terror.
“I don’t know yet, please step outside, and I’ll check on her right away. It’s going to be okay, try to relax.” The female doctor, seeing his anxious face, had a rather good impression of this man who cared so deeply about his wife.
The emergency lasted only about ten minutes before Leng Qiuling was moved to a hospital room.
“Doctor, how is she?” Zhan Tianxiang hurriedly asked.
“Come with me,” the female doctor removed her mask, giving him a strange look.
A sense of unease rose in Zhan Tianxiang, and he sat down immediately, asking, “Doctor, what exactly is wrong with her?”
Once in the office, the female doctor sighed and didn’t directly reveal Leng Qiuling’s condition but instead began a lengthy sermon.
“Young man, how old are you? Around thirty? Working so hard, neglecting your family, that’s not right. Look at what you’ve done to your wife. And letting her get caught in the rain at such a time, fortunately, she was brought here in time.”
Zhan Tianxiang was confused, unable to grasp her words, anxiously asking, “What exactly is wrong with her?”
“What could it be?” The doctor shook her head in resignation, “Hormonal imbalance! I’ve never seen such a young woman with hormonal imbalance to this degree, experiencing menstrual pain so severe that she faints. Young man, you’re at the age where your sexual function is at its best, try to spend more time with your wife. Making love is the most effective way to regulate hormones, improve blood circulation, relieve menstrual pain, and it has many other benefits…”
“Ah-choo-” Zhan Tianxiang, stunned, listened awkwardly to her words, feeling embarrassed. A sneeze rudely interrupted the doctor’s lecture. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. Please continue.”
The doctor glared at him severely, then looked at him solemnly. “Sir, do you have problems in that department? If so, you should get it checked out…”
At this, Zhan Tianxiang’s wheat-colored face turned bright red. “Doctor, I… I’m perfectly normal in that area, it’s just that my wife and I live apart.”
“Alright then, that’s good to hear,” the doctor’s stern face broke into a slight smile. “I’ve given her a painkiller, and her wet clothes have been changed. She’ll wake up soon. You should go buy her some sanitary pads, the extra-long kind, as she’s bleeding heavily, mostly clots. After she’s discharged, remember to take good care of her, nourish her body well.”
