Daddy, Mommy Ran Away - Chapter 188 - Letting Go
“Brother Zuo! That patient is Brother Zuo!” Her heart nearly leapt into her throat.
“What? You mean Zuo Junchen?” Shen Jun was taken aback.
“Yes, I recognize him. It’s really Brother Zuo! How did he end up injured in the hospital? And it looks like he’s seriously hurt. The man in black beside him is his assistant, Sun Wen. I know him!”
“Aunt, don’t worry. I think I know where Xiaoqing is now.” An Ruoxi held her trembling hands, offering comfort.
Finding out which room a patient is in isn’t too difficult. Zuo Junchen’s room was on the twelfth floor in the VIP section. Just a turn down the corridor, and they were there.
At this late hour, the hallway was eerily quiet, with only the faint sound of a broken, sobbing song drifting from one of the rooms.
“…In my heart lives someone from now on, the small us from back then… I’m looking for the person in that story, you’re an indispensable part, napping under the tree, while the small me foolishly waits…”
As the song ended, the voice, as faint as a mosquito’s buzz, faded into silence, leaving only two tears trailing down her cheeks.
With trembling fingertips, she lovingly traced his pale face, gently outlining his delicate features, the deep contours, each stroke deeply etched into her mind.
Gently placing his hand back under the sheets, a myriad of emotions found their conclusion in that moment.
The sudden sound of the door turning startled the person who was gazing intently. A gentle breeze carrying a familiar mint scent swept in, and she found herself enveloped in a tender embrace.
“Qing’er! Why did you run off like that? You scared mommy to death!” Nuan Qianqing’s mom exclaimed, holding her tightly, tears of joy streaming down her face.
Her body stiffened for a moment, wiping away the tears. The smile on Nuan Qianqing’s lips was somewhat relieved. “Mommy, I’m sorry for worrying you.”
When she raised her head again, her eyes had regained focus, bright and clear, no longer vacant and confused. This astonished the three people standing at the door.
Seeing the three at the entrance, Nuan Qianqing beamed with joy and slowly walked towards them.
Her gaze finally settled on An Ruoxi’s stunned face. Suddenly, she reached out and hugged her tightly, her voice choked with gratitude and remorse. “Ruoxi, I’m sorry, truly sorry.”
In the quiet space, the name echoed like fireworks bursting in the night sky.
“Sister Qing, what did you call her?” Shen Jun exclaimed, almost jumping in surprise.
