Summary
On our wedding day, my fiancée arrived two hours late.
She looked unhappy as she stepped out of the car. She skipped every wedding game I’d spent so long planning and went out to the terrace to drink champagne instead.
One of the bridesmaids lost a round and had to answer a question truthfully. I stopped my childhood friend before he could ask one.
“Why were you all so late today?” I asked.
The hired bridesmaids exchanged puzzled looks.
“Are you sure that’s what you want to ask? The bride gave us the wrong hotel address, that’s all. We ended up at the hotel on the south side of the city, so it took us a while to get here…”
I stopped hearing her.
The hotel on the south side was where Shen Qinghuan’s ex-boyfriend was getting married that day.
I wasn’t the man she wanted to marry.
There didn’t seem to be much point in going through with our wedding.
