Summary
Today was the day I would toss an embroidered wedding ball to choose a husband.
I had just picked out a dashing young gentleman in splendid clothes, ready to send the ball his way, when on-screen comments appeared before my eyes to stop me.
[Don’t throw it! There’s an unhinged heroine down there who’ll snatch your ball and give it to a beggar.]
[And the brainless prince beside her will use his power to force you to marry the beggar!]
I ignored them and threw it anyway.
Just as the comments said, someone snatched it. But before the ball had even landed, I took another from my maid. Then another. And another.
Seven embroidered balls in all.
The comments fell silent. The heroine stared in disbelief.
I smiled sweetly. If I was taking husbands into my household, what was wrong with taking several?
